  • Some jobs are never simple. Removing the front portion of my Porsche 356’s wiring loom was one of those jobs!
On paper it was so simple. A 2 minute job. All I had to do was pull the wire through some tubes and then disconnect it from the fuse box. In reality? It took 2 days just to get a section of it out and 3 to remove the whole thing.
It wasn’t pretty…the wire cutters and hacksaw both came out.
Watch to find out what happened….

OMG! You are nothing if not persistent! Well done! The debris generated from scraping the ‘frunk’ was truly impressive. And…I still hear mum scraping in the background! 😀👍👍 I’m really enjoying the adventure…carry on!

Thank you! Yes, my mum has been a SUPERSTAR with all the scraping of the underseal! Thank you and I'm looking forward to sharing the rest of my journey with you.

I spent a winter stripping my 356C down to the bare tub. My wiring harness had been previously cut where it exited the center tunnel so I held my breath, when I saw the cost, but bought a new harness. It was nice using a new loom which was pliable not being 60 years old.

Nooo, did you know it had been cut or was that a unwanted surprise? I'm also siding on putting a new wiring loom in Trouble. I think for the cost it is not worth the potential electrical headaches.

I did lots of jobs like this and one big advise - TAKE PICTURES lots of pictures if you think I will remember everything or just use workshop manual how to assembly no you will not...and don't worry worse is yet to come:)
