Nice to see people helping each other out. Top man!
So satisfying when a used part solves a problem. Good work pal.
I don’t read the comments and I don’t follower you on Instagram etc so I apologise if it’s already been discussed. But I can tell you’re going through a difficult time, some mental health stuff and possibly stress PTSD related. There’s lots of help available out there mate don’t clam up and share it.
Love t he videos 👍
I wonder if you could have taken the relays out and changed them into the clean motor.
Nicely done James, and good of you to help out an elderly neighbour too.
A nice little job and a good deed done. Nice to see people helping out others in the community. Top man sir👍🏼
This is a very common problem on Puntos and Pandas of that period. Thank god that motor is cheap and easy to replace!
you can replace the relays as well.... In my punto I had a bad solder connection, just resoldered it ... all worked perfect ;)
@@cenariusbg Yep, i replaced relays on mine since i already had to remove whole PCB. Should be fine for few more years if i'm still gonna drive this car.
Nothing against your neighbour but holy shit does that car need a clean. I honestly don’t know how you could drive around in that 😧 Great vid as always though James
Thats what i thought too. I wouldnt even want to sit in that thing, let alone drive it. Yuck...
It is pretty yucki cant lie
You should have seen my mates old mk1 punto...that was a f*cking disgrace
My work van looks like that but my own car clean as a whistle lol
I had a mark 1 meriva and my power steering went and it was the same thing but had it changed after I wrote to vauxhall and watchdog tv .love ur work
Nice little content James.helping out an older neighbor and making a useful video is satisfying ,and entertaining.xxx
Great cars these, simple and easy to work on. used to be absolutely everywhere at one time.
Great video.
A handy job on a Fiat! I've seen it all now. Top marks for helping out the neighbour.
What an awesome breakdown. I've got an 18 year old Punto that the light comes on occasionally, usually when the battery is about to go and in colder weather. Nice to see the whole system, thanks for sharing.
Now that's what I call old school. Haven't seen one of these in a while. Great video as always.
Me either anyway if it's Italian care it's usually something to do with electric
@@neilmurphy845 Italian electrics are never great. Those Punto are great for flying up bridges, get great air time on them 😂😂
@@jackhaddley2875 hahaha never knew that actually
these are everywhere on the balkans
We have a lot of these puntos here and i didnt know they had this simple of an elec. steering system. I like that actually.
your local mechanic must love you, stealing all the business on mates rates, i'm assuming , haha
Mates are mates, always appreciate a mate that can sort you out in these situations, they'll return the help for sure.
I agree with dave that car was minging and yes it would make a great before and after valeting video
Your spoiling us James ,2 vids in a week , love the videos , always my favourite go to channel , can't wait for next , seems like you really enjoyed doing this vid and have Ur enthusiasm back , good on you , Chris
Feels like the good old days James banging out the videos great video mate 👍
Thankyou matt appreciate it!
Brilliant video again James really enjoyed watching it. I would definitely love to see the punto being cleaned and detailed.
Great to see you back on CZcams, really enjoy watching your channel, keep up the good work mate
another wicked upload mate glad ya back and smashing the content out 👌🏻
What a great guy for helping your neighbor out with his car well done mate!!, You're right though that thing is well overdue a good bath 😂
Good job bud, and nice seeing you taking pride in your jobs.
These cars were excellent for on the move handbrake turns into side roads 🤣 great job man 👌 detailing video next 😎
Top job man. I used to have a Punto Active sport. It was great car but head gasket went twice so ended as scrap. That city function is a great feature.
Nice to see that you are back with the videos. Keep it up man. Great content
Great little video, great that you can help out your neighbours 👍
Great work same thing happened to my corsa c steering was heavy but for some reason it fixed itself but haven't any issues with couple years
Really enjoyed this mate, made it look really simple!
Good to see you back doing new videos!
Lovely Jubbly, nice quick fix, imagine taking that to a Fiat dealership, they'd be rubbing their hands.
Lovely job, amazing feeling helping someone out, good work.
My first car was a 2002 punto and I had to change the power steering motor in that, you starting the engine on that brought back some memories 😂
Another good video you explained the repair brilliant as you normally do ,keep the videos coming...
This video is exactly what I needed. My 2001 fiat punto has the exact same problem. I'm going to show this video to my local garage. Maybe they can fix it. Thank you!
Had this happen on dsughters car a few years ago,and found out the two relays were available on ebay.A bit of dismantling and some soldering and worked and was cheap.
Thanks a lot man. I had the same problem with my Punto from 2002(driven 149000). I wanted to sell it but nobody wanted it. Now I fixed it for 38euro and made somebody happy with the car. I wish I saw your video a year ago 😅.
Nice walk through to what was always a weakness on these cars! Always had a soft spot for them and there don’t seem to be many about so nice work keeping this one going for a little longer! I really hope the owner at least lets you loose with a vacuum in there though🤢
I really enjoy your videos! Glad to see that you are making more videos again! :)
Great vid James. It’s a great endorsement that your neighbours approach you to work on their cars. Hopefully word will spread & you’ll get more work and maybe earn a few coppers out of it 💴💴😁
Great content. I always look forward to your uploads, thanks alot.
Great job as usual James, well done.
Thank you! I had the same issue and called lots of shops and they all tried to convince me this wasn't the problem and said it was going to cost me a lot to fix it. We bought a second hand one, replaced it and now I have no issues with the steering wheel! So thank you for this video, it saved me lots of money!
thats awesome
@@TheSavageGarage I called 4 garages in my area ( I live in the Netherlands ). They all kind of laughed at me ( maybe because I am a woman ) when I said I saw this video and asked them whether this could fix the problem ( a neighbour of mine has the same car and also had this problem in the past and also replaced it and it did the trick ). They all said they had to look at it, and that it could have many causes, but that this pump change wouldn't fix the problem. Today I called them all back to tell them it díd fix the problem. I can't help but think they all tried to get lots of money from me for repair ór they just didn't have any knowledge about this. Well... long story short: thanks! ( It was a hassle to get to the screw in the back, because we didn't have an electric screwdriver like you. It took quite some time, but with pushing the plastic cover with plenty of force, we managed to get enough space in between, so we could get the screwdriver in )
Sensational tutorial ... Thank you .... Greetings from Granada - Andalucia - Spain
Yep the power steering sensor comun problem you can find it on the alfa mito opel meriva en the Punto good job
Good for you helping out your neighbour
Fantastic video again looking forward to the next episode of the mondeo
There's a Fiat Stilo at my college and I get to take part home and I've got so much of it love it
Great job, don't know why this has 15 dislikes ? you helped an elderly neighbour out and made an interesting video, don't figure!
Yay Punto content! Would love to see more 👍
Nice easy fix, great vid. Would love to see a yum cars detail on it😎👍
Fabulous video once again, thanks a lot mate!
Brilliant, a most excellent video, you have a talent for this young man!
Excellent video , got this problem on my corsa c
Another interesting video again James nice one 👍
Good stuff james keep it up might come in handy if I have to buy a punto
Interesting video, that was much more straightforward than I thought it would be!.
One of the best things about older cars is that they are so much easier to repair than the new ones which are stuffed with computer control and tech
Well done on a good little job
Top job James keep the videos coming
Great video , My car while driving almost got me under a truck steering locked 4 time in the matter time of 10 minutes I managed to get it there a safe place and park if off..
thanks for sharing your knowledge about this issue 🤗
big thanks! just bought a Punto and think this video will be big help as steering randomly turns off
good man nice to see you making loads of vids again and even helping your neighbour out. i have to admit iv seen myself saying, and theres the prize when i remove a stubborn part. i now know where im getting that from lol. you keep teasing us with that welder in background im looking to buy a welder in next few weeks, would be good to see if that parkside flux core is good for thin body panels. you done any thin metal with it yet dude?
Keep up the videos there well explained useful and helpful and good advice
Hello James, greetings from Miami Florida. Just want to tell you how much I enjoy your videos ! This one in particular shows what a great guy you are. I wish you had a double living in my neighborhood. I want to thank you for giving me hope that I could possibly own a Mini Cooper in the near future. Don't ever change the way you come across. We need more young men with such ethical and decent conduct.
Sylvia Gonzalez thankyou so much for the kind words. That’s made my day thankyou so much! P.s. I’m jealous you live in Miami! A place I’ve always wanted to visit
really enjoy your vids - great work
Good stuff as always, really think this car would benifit from a Savage Garage valet 😉
Great work, love the Punto aswell, one would make a great project car for you maybe.
I like those Fiats, I bet it’s fun to drive in town and on the twisties. Nice fix on that one, 2003, a little long in the tooth, I have an 04 Golf that still runs great.
Had exactly same issue with a Daihatsu I own. Motor is not as easy to access as the punto but when you get it off you can open the motor and will find loads of carbon which interferes with the running of the motor. Quick clean out and it’s back to working perfectly.
Great video, you teached us well how to replace the part...
lucky man! So much easier to replace than the newer Punto's and Alfa Mito's!
I like this video it was nice and easy to understand.. thanks !
Great change of video. Maybe an idea for content that you offer your neighbour abit of labour discount for you to do.more light hearted videos on this car, i.e servicing, brakes. Miss these types of videos on youtube.
Keep up the great work fella!
am liking the new intro good video as always
Nice easy fix ..... I was thinking it needs a dam good clean just before you said it 😂 👍
This Car needs a Yum Cars interior clean special haha
damn right! lol
James there's a big pink chewit on the floor. Great video mate, thanks
Great vid keep up the great content mate
Wow, how accessible is that? Its almost like they expected them to fail.
Well they did because it's a Italian car in this case a fiat or fix it again today
Was thinking the same.
The facelifted Mk2 Punto has a different power steering motor without the two relays that often fail on the pre-facelifted models, the later motors are more reliable however what shortens the life of the motor is using the City mode all the time or driving the car with a weak battery. Regardless of the motor design, it's a very cheap fix anyway and it's maintenance free, there is no power steering pump and no need to buy fluid for the system. Vauxhalls also have electric power steering.
@@neilmurphy845 I'm laughing because I own a 2002 Alfa Romeo that according to the stereotypes of people like you it should break down every five minutes but never dies? Explain this to me?
@@terryturner4116 ya but you obviously have the money to keep up with the maintenance or don't drive much or yet another old car is better than new and a new thing I just discover those fiat Puntos are actually Opel/GM corsas so that would explain why they have so silly designs
Cracking job again
great video i have the same year punto this will be helpful if it ever fails
After wasting 1 hour on stupid videos of guys who dont know what are they doing. I found yours thank you soo much keep it up 👍
Great video James as ever 🤙🍺
Back at it again!
Good to see you back🖒🖒😉
Well done mate.👍
Hi mate
Great video as always 😊
I was just wondering, is there a way to diagnose these so you can know for sure that it is this that is the problem?
Thanks
thanks mate, gonna try this with my panda as I think its basically the same thing that's both wrong with PS and what to do to repair it. Great vid, keep up the great work :)
Nice mate, job done!
Nice one James 👍🏻
Lov ur clip...Thx 4 sharing
Nice fix James.
Baz.
Excellent job 👍
Another well explained video.
I like the occasional random content like this
Well explained. Very helpful.
can you not replace the relays in the old unit? might be a good video if someone wants to have a go at fixing the unit, rather than buying a whole different unit. maybe sell it to someone else or keep if for the next time it goes. food for thought. great videos. looking forward to seeing the mondeo again
Thank you very much. I got the same problem with my gp 2006
Putting on a bit of timber since lockdown James! 🤔 yet another great video, keep up the good work!
Not as much as Boris though
you dont know what someone is going through though, I couldn't see my son for the whole of lockdown really made me depressed as f.
lol thanks i guess :D
@@TheSavageGarage we have you're back fella 👍
