- Former Ireland and British and Irish Lion Ronan O'Gara joined us on Off The Ball, and attention turned to the 2001 Lions Tour with the imperious Jonny Wilkinson.
Check out what the former Ireland player had to say, and how two of the best place-kickers in rugby got to the very top of the game, with Wilkinson winning the Rugby World Cup in 2003.

My hamstrings winced at the thought of all that kicking every day, no wonder Wilkinson was made of paper for a few years. Absolute madness
Wilkinson was a robot. Interesting man and personality. Would highly recommend the autobiography
He was the opposite of a robot. Highly intelligent and a free thinker. Spectrum? Perhaps. Introverted. Self critical. Interested in science and the metaphysical. NOT a robot.
Johnny Wilkinson is phanomenol
that faded away oddly
I love Ronan, but underneath everything he says, Jonny was better than me, even in my wildest dreams !
Masterclass Lesson 1: High Kick and Charge from yer own In-Goal with Time up on the Clock and the Series in the Balance.
Here endeth the lessons.
The series wasn't in the balance really, a draw was useless to the lions so they needed a win. At least going down 2-0 meant that SA but out a weakened team in the third and gave the lions a chance
What a.......
Cheers for winning the Boks the series in 09
Ah here the Lions is just a bit of fun for 10 weeks then they all go back to their real teams.
That's pretty disrespectful to your own team, they did alot of fantastic stuff to earn that series and you think it's down to one mistake by an opposition player? That was concussed at the time? Have a bit more pride in how good your team was at that time.
And if the second test had been a draw, SA would have put out a full team in the final test and decimated the lions so it was moot anyway
Your last paragraph is so ridiculous and shows a total lack of understanding rugby. Also a bit salty for a winning supporter.
Why talk to silly presenters that are helping ruin Sport . This Channel is stuffed , Bloated with awful Hosts .
Should have ex-players hosting (ideally peers of ROG and the like), not these sycophantic little lick arses
Complete hams
O'Gara played on the worse team
