    Patti Warashina was born in Spokane, Washington, in 1940. She earned her BFA and MFA from the University of Washington in 1962 and 1964. After teaching for 30 years, 25 of them at University of Washington, she retired as Professor Emerita in 1995. Warashina is internationally recognized for her technically refined, figurative sculptures that helped expand the boundaries of clay as a medium.
