Best video I've found! Movements are very clearly delineated, especially the quarter turns. The only postures that appear to be missing from '108' form are shoulder bump, a couple of left ward off, and parry/punch.
This is my training video from now on!

This is part of a longer instructional video by the esteemed Li Deyin. When he does the sequences, you can see the implied shoulder bumps. The vids are on CZcams. I recommend looking them up.

This is not also known as the 85 form. The yang family has 3 forms 115, 85, and 73. The 115 removed the jumps and spins and became the 108/103 which is the public form. The 85 is the elder family form and the 73 is what Xu Yusheng wrote about in his book from Yang Jianhuo. The 88 form was put together for wushu coaches and athletes and has characteristics of the 108/103 but more simplified. thanks.

No, the 88 form is passed down from Yang Chengfu. It is also called six sections big frame form. Yang also taught Long Boxing which is the Yang family fast set. Additionally, Yang Shaohou also taught the small frame fast set.

@@TheBuddyShowWorldwide Video above is Li Deyin's modern wushu adaptation with simplification, you obviously don't see the differences between the authentic 85 form and this one. It is ok, most people don't know the differences and make such statements that it is the same as what Yang chengfu taught.. The above form is not the real 85 for sure. case in point the 85 form is here. notice the transition method from push to single whip: czcams.com/video/_qyhcy5fUjk/video.html

      @@novaacuinfo5930 ,
      Yes you are correct.
85 Traditional Form is NOT this video 88 Form. This 88 Form is just another Long Extended of the Simplified 24 Form, which I happen to teach n play.
I do not teach 85 Form because the Hands gestures _to me personally_ feel incomplete. The original intention of the form is REALLY for Self Defense n Striking the enemy outside of oneself. It is not designed for more pleasing to watch.
But 88 Form on this video, is more pleasing n graceful to watch and the legs stance lower n the longer stride, higher kicking and more expansive arms gestures is really good practice for ROM = range of motion to improve our legs strength, balance n flexibility to enhance one's daily routine activities.
Thanks for sharing the history background on this 85, 88, 108, 103 etc..

@@peacebe2u480 thanks, yes i learned 85 from fu zhongwen, 103/108 from Yang zhenduo and Yang Jun, and the 88 form from wushu coach Lu xiaolin so I've very aware of the differences. Best is to practice forms you love and connect with best the teacher, method, and details. All the best.

    Ric,
You need to change the title from 103 to 88 form. Incorrect title!
A thumb down for you. Not the young lady whom performed this 88 form.
I also learned this form n follow her style.

      @@ricobolzan ,
You do it for the click bait! The words in Chinese said 88 form.
We practice exactly the same style with this lady.
85 form Yang is the Traditional style. Totally different style. The 103 form is also different variations. The traditional style is *messed up* , ea master does slightly different from another master. For a group practice, it will not be synchronized.
This 88 form is more *STANDARDIZED* long form. It is MORE CHALLENGING to perform this long legs extention, higher heel kicks than majority players that perform 85 n 103, 108 Forms.
These kind of gold medalists rarely perform 85, 103, 108 traditional styled with *SHORTER range of motions* that are preferred for common regular lazy to stretch players.

@@peacebe2u480 The Spanish Title and Chinese voice-over says 88 movements, but the English captions list 103 movements - you can take your pick.
