  • As always, I wanted to take y'all on a Baseball Card Show Tour Experience where y'all could get glimpses of what the card shows are like in the greater NYC area.
    Typically, every weekend you will find a baseball card show occurring somewhere in the NY, NJ and CT region! This past weekend, I set up at the monthly Fishkill, NY show on Saturday and the bi-weekly Garfield, NJ show on Sunday.
    There are a number of other baseball card shows that take place in the region. The bigger ones are the Jim Ryan Shows (JP Sports Card & Rock Solid) that occur out on Long Island! I have been to their larger shows out in Long Island as well as in White Plains, NY.
    All that said, if you like watching baseball card show tour videos, I recommend subscribing and checking out the playlist below!

    Hi Sammy,
    Thanks for your great footage of the Garfield and Fishkill shows. As usual your camera work is stellar.
    I couldn’t believe that showcase of Venezuelan cards! That might have been Brian Fish’s table.
    Have a relaxing evening and thanks again,
    Peter

    Great video as always. Regarding the Venezuelan Seaver, what a nice card. Coincidentally I just purchased two 1966 Venezuelan’s today, but these have the paper loss and back damage that you spoke of. Now for my fatherly advice, don’t sell your graded 1968 Seaver. I like to look at the two cards together, and as you said you can plainly see the difference. Your original Seaver is so sharp and vibrant. Seaver is one of your favorite players to collect, and I think you would regret selling it someday. Please think about it a little more before you let it go.

      I’ll give it some more thought. You might be right with keeping the 68 Topps Seaver

    How amazing it is, you can hang out and spend time with Mookie. All I have, is my cat and dog at home, but they ignore me.
    I like the difference in contrast between your show tours and Graig's. I can still tell it, was loud in there but, only so much you can do about the noise. Still was able to focus on the different vendors cards. Focus isn't a word ADHD people can say or do often. Some solid pick ups. I like the Seaver Venny. I have the Thurman Munson too, but the 1977 Topps Cloth Stickers one. And, also the 1959 Topps Sandy Koufax. Great card and set; incredible design, too.
    Yes. Keep the Top 5 cards for, under $100. It's a good and helpful concept. Even if you choose to do it every other week.
    Would be interested in 1975 Topps from the 70's. 1964 Topps, though it doesn't have to be. As mentioned, one of my all-time favorites from the 1950's. The 1959 Topps. Glad you had a successful and fun time at the show.

    I PC O-Pee-Chee (70s, 80s) of HOF pitches (Ryan, Seaver, Palmer, Carlton, etc). Much more rare than the Tops stuff. Interested in almost everything you have posted. Also, fantastic pickup on that Ven Topps 68 Seaver. Super rare!

    What a phenomenal card! You hardly ever see vennies in VG, yet alone upper mid-grade. Congratulations on a great addition to the Seaver PC! Also love the ‘77 OPC. I collect the ‘77 OPC photo variations as a supplement to my Topps set. There are some really interesting ones. ‘77 OPC almost serves as a de facto “traded” set, since it was released later in the season with more up-to-date photos of some players. Btw nice somewhat Mangini-like sustain when you revealed the ‘59 Koufax 😂 I feel like you might’ve unintentionally channeled him for a moment there.

      Hey, just a heads up.. Don't know your price range but there are several 1962 and 1965 Eddie Mathews Vennys on COMC. Five 1962's and four 1964's, all poor to fair condition but currently on sale. There were a few 1968's a couple days ago but every copy sold after all the Venezuelan talk on CZcams between this and the live stream lately I imagine.

    I had fun chasing down my Venezuelans. A couple of yrs ago I completed the Redsox Venezuelan run. It was challenging. Have now completed the Redsox run for Topps, OPC and Venezuelan

    • @SammyThunder

    Lots of Venezuelans on COMC right now, folks. Even the non-MLB ones including an Aparicio and 1967 pre-RCs of Concepcion and Bobby Cox. One guy "vennysportscards" (appropriately...) even has a sale going right now. The ones on my want list are disappearing quickly. Yaz, Don Sutton, Jim Palmer, Cloninger, Boog, Lolich, Piniella, etc RCs and a really nice Fergie. May be worth checking out. Mostly low grade though.

    • @SammyThunder
      @SammyThunder  Před měsícem +1

      That’s really good to know. I’m not as big of a Venezuelan Collector, but it’s such a cool thing to know that other versions of cards exist outside the traditional stuff that we have in the United States.

  • @blixcards
    @blixcards Před měsícem +1

    Awesome Seavers. I agree you should keep both Seavers and maybe even add a 1968-69 Milton Bradley and O-Pee-Chee for the Vintage "rainbow". Would be sweet to see you have all 4 together! Also, how much for the 1977 O-Pee-Chees? Especially interested in the Nolan Ryan and Brett, but possibly all. About to grade a 1977 OPC Ryan myself next month so I would just tag it along. Thank you, sir!

    Sammy one question on Venezuelan cards how do you tell I seen some on ebay and backs say printed in USA? And listed as Venezuelan ?

    • @SammyThunder
      @SammyThunder  Před měsícem +1

      My understanding is that the Venezuelan cards will have less glossy front of the card. The back of the card could be a lot darker. Truthfully, it’s probably better to buy one that is graded if you’re not completely sure.
