faithful followers: update, I upgraded from the awesome JBL Quantum one today to the Quantum 910x, when you configure the headset in quantum engine, and save your profile while on pC with the dongle connected to the headset, your eq, and settings including rgb transfer over to console. I know because I tried it, but only through usb/ usb dongle not 3.5 aux
If you bought a 910x - it works on all devices wirelessly. For Xbox when you plug in the transmitter turn on your headset, your transmitter will blink and stay green staying connected, it’s automatic for Xbox. Series X,
On PS5 when you plug in the wireless dongle, press the little button once on the side of the dongle and it will turn white and now you are connected to any other device , pC, ps5, switch etc

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see much in terms of comparison between this and the 810. The 810 costs about 200USD atm vs 300 for the 910, so I'd be really curious to know if the 910 is worth it over the 810 in your opinion? Thanks.

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  Před 9 měsíci

the 800, 810 and 910 are nearly identical regarding sound quality, build quality, comfort and user experience. What you get each time you go up a model is more features. The 810 is only an incremental update to the 800. The main difference is it has a bigger battery. The 910, has spacial audio and head tracking built in.

Using the dongle I've never noticed any kind of latency on any of the devices I've tested. Even the Bluetooth connection is pretty good.

@@goukigod Were you using Win 10, or 11? I think 11 has better bluetooth codecs. The fact that 10 NEVER SUPPORTED the good bluetooth codecs - is the reason the dongles exist in the first place. NOTHING on Win 10 can prevent your headphones from going into MONO when you need to talk at the same time. (Why there's 2 different "stereo" connections in "Sound" menu from system tray. On Win 10 - you literally have to turn off the mic, if connected to any headset via bluetooth - to hear stereo sound...

@@KathrynsWorldWildfireTracking If you aren’t using the dongle for these kinds of headsets on pc… why? Just swap the adapter out of whatever you have it plugged into.. literally kneecapping yourself. The 2.4ghz here isn’t base Bluetooth so your concerns over which OS was used.. is really a non issue.

    • @KathrynsWorldWildfireTracking
      @KathrynsWorldWildfireTracking Před 6 měsíci

      @@NyteStalker89 You misunderstand my post.
Why wouldn't I be using the dongle? Of course I am. I explain why they exist in the first place. I'm educated about this issue, so why wouldn't I take my own advice? :)
      I'll start over.
The Bluetooth codecs on Windows (10 at least!) do not support high quality sound + mic transmission at the same time. (Stereo audio + having mic enabled = pipe dream on Windows.)
      Because:
Enable the mic - windows disables stereo audio. That's why the dongle exists. Headset manufacturers must work around this issue - which Microsoft refuses to fix.
2.4 Ghz dongle grants you stereo audio + voice transmission at the same time.
2.4 Ghz has no delay. So, anyone asking about "delay" - may not be aware that sync delay only happens with 1) Bluetooth, and 2) old Bluetooth codecs/drivers. (The ones Windows uses.)
If someone is NOT using the dongle, but bluetooth, as gouikigod is talking about - yeah. You can get a delay. Did he test it long enough? On which version of windows?
It may take a long time to appear in your movie - but lips can desync with voice while watching windows movies via bluetooth.
UNLESS - he's on Win 11 and they fixed it. Thus, my inquiry.
(I don't keep up with Win 11 changes. I'm HOPING they fix things, but, I'm jaded and bitter. Microsoft had 6+ years to do something with 10 Bluetooth fix, and never did.)
I tried Beoplay Portals for $250 - they sucked. Turn off randomly. Mic is garbage. I'm stuck with JBL for the rest of my life it seems... (Windows life.) Even though they're heavy, and make me look like a space cadet. :(
Inquiring about Win 11 - i'm looking for glimmers of hope here.

@@KathrynsWorldWildfireTracking This reply makes a bit more sense and sadly I can tell you that Win 11 suffers the same issues as most gaming headsets with simultaneous transmission do not have the actual codecs for LE BT.
The only gaming headset that does is the Audeze Maxwell but it doesn't support true simultaneous audio via wireless and BT. My comment was honestly more of a "why care about BT at all for windows when the dongle bypasses the shit BT support all around?"
Windows supporting any given new codec is only part of the story. Win 11 can support all of the new codecs, BUT does your PC hardware? If I'm running Win 11, but my motherboard and CPU are Ryzen 3rd gen, then in no way is it going to work with the newer, better codec because the physical hardware was around before those being applied to mainstream hardware. Even latest gen AMD and intel platforms do not have full compatibility yet and the patching in of them is suuuuuuper slow. Lack of companies being pushed to the future makes the increase of compatible headsets a slow process.
I enjoy my JBL headset(910P owner) but I prefer my Maxwell more. Double the battery life, better mic IF i don't use my HyperX USB mic and MUCH more fun sound for gaming and music. Plus.. it works with the new codecs on the devices I use it with.

Does the sitedone setting save to the headset once adjusted?

  • @KathrynsWorldWildfireTracking

What I want to know about Q 910's:
    1) Is the mic better than 800/810s? (Answered - not really. Damn. Damn, damn, damn! Thanks for pointing out wired = better. Didn't know that!) (Would have liked comparison.)
    2) Can you charge while using them now? (Yes, sweet!) (Plenty of my livestreams were interrupted for 20 mins at a time as i recharged...yeah...you loose 80% of your viewers when you say "sound returns 20 mins later.) :(
    3) Better battery life? (Doesn't sound like it, actually. I have ANC/dongle connected all the time...barely get 15-16 hours on my 800's. If turning on anc "halves" it, and so does bluetooth phone connection too...sounds bad man.)
    4) Does it make the horrible, plucky, guitar riff whenever you turn them on? (Oh God I came to hear that in my sleep!!)
    5) Do they turn themselves off randomly still? To "save battery?" DEAL BREAKER FOR MANY.
Because - it severs your bluetooth with your phone. So, you can't just put them on your head, and have a long pause in listening to anything. You turn them on again, (stupid guitar riff sound you hear 48 times per day because of this!) forget to re-establish with your phone, and miss a bunch of calls since you can't hear the dang phone due to ANC...)
    6) Does it re-establish bluetooth with your phone automatically once it turns itself off? (My Bang & Olufsen's do. Sadly, the mic is crap on them so i'm returning.)
    7) CAN YOU DISABLE the hated auto-off?
    8) Takes 3 hours to charge. What? Took about 20 mins on my 800's...wtf...did they decide fast-charging was no longer en-vogue?
    9) Does the band get smaller now? I'm female, and, like every other woman on the planet, our headphones have a finger-sized gap on our scalps if we hold them on our ears proper...this results in them hanging low squeezing our jaws, causing eventual TMJ. Can you try asking women if they fit?
    10) Must you still install the software for pc - in order to disable the dang lights?
    11) Can you actually adjust phone call volume - on the headset? The 800's had a dial, but that didn't do anything for volume. Had to cross the room, get your phone...PITA.
    12) Is there anything better out there - that 1) has dongle, 2) has anc, 3) has better-sounding mic, 4) can charge while using? That would be the holy grail...
    Thx for the review.

@@goukigod i have the razor v2pros with 70 hours of battery and are really light/comfortable but the felt padding cause it to shift when i move my head and sound leakage (no ANC) and sounds can feel a little flat. Gun shots are muzzled in many game vs my quantum 800s and i have been buying handfuls of headsets to try out.
