  • Come along on my first adventure motorcycle trip ever. After spendig several months fixing my Cagiva 750 it was time for the first trip. It did not go without problems.
    This video is part of a video series where I am trying to get my Cagiva 750 Elefant fixed in quite a hurry! I have promised to go on a roadtrip together with my friend ‪@tshansen‬ - can I get my bike ready in time?

    Great story!! Way to just get out there and see how it goes. You are fixing high priority items and you have shown great resilience to figure things out on the road. 🙂

      Happy to hear you liked it 😊Will try to improve the on-the-road part in upcoming videos, I'm most used to make videos in my garage, if was fun to get outdoors for once 😁

    Great job! With a “project bike” like this, there is always something to be mended, improved or sorted out. I have indicators similar to the ones you used. They are very weak, as the rubber ‘mounting’ of the indicator is just glued on to the threaded tube. Mine came adrift like yours did. They really need a nut on each side but on mine the thread was one I couldn’t easily get nuts for, and I didn’t have the right sized tap to make a nut. I ended up making a spacer/washer from Acetal (“Delrin”?) and bonded it onto the threaded tube with 2-part epoxy metal glue to take the pressure of the nut on the inside (of the fairing in your case). They now work fine. Keep the old ones as spares - you may well need them one day! Enjoying your videos, thank you. Les in UK 🇬🇧

    Lovely journey! The task lists, the little working table, the clean garage. Sure you are not a surgeon? 😊 Quietly hoping your task list never run out, because I'm enjoying your videos🤩 I've spent many years driving this area, fixing my own bike, the same bike for 16 years now. Witch means I've had my own task lists along the way. Very relatable except the clean garage😁

    Herlig serie du har her. Da slipper du at dekaler ol blir ødelagt.

Takk for tipset 🙏 Hilsen 'Molling' 😁

    Anyway Ki what I can tell u and I heard from my fellows italian elefant owners....this bikes had the same problems (for example big vibrations) even when they were new. Also bing carburators are not so good. They works but I know a lot of owner replaced em with "dall'orto". But mostly ducati is famous to have some oil exudation. Me I fixed problem in ducati opening the engine and putting new Ducati silicone gasket, the black one.
    I spent a lot of money 😢😢 but now everything is dry.
    Anyway our elefant are most beautiful ❤❤

      I accidentally left the tap open overnight, and the carb was very wet underneath. I guess the closing needle needs cleaning or replacing. I thought it was Mikuni carbs on these?

      @@kihestad i always close the fuel tap when bike is on the garage. This has been told to me from old cagiva bikers.
      On elefant 750 87/90 original carburator is bing i think from germany.

    Looked up hard bags and couldn't find anything specific to Cagiva. The generic ones were a bit pricey, though.
    Sidenote: I wasn't aware CircleK had stations outside of North America. Hauled fuel 25 years and CircleK was our biggest customer.

      @kihestad  Před 7 dny +1

      I think I'll stick to soft bags, I just like them better. Both how it looks and because they are more flexible in size.
      It's actually not that long ago we got CirckleK here in Norway. The world is not that big, you find much of the same everywhere 😊

    Uh i replaced 2 times rev counter, first was broken the second was good but I broke the cable after 40 km. Now I found one but that instruments are a little old plus the light system of speedometer and rev counter are vintage they looks like christmas tree lights.. Some light doesnt works anymore.
    So I found new one kit but......i have not so much hope in it.
    So am curious about the solution u will find 😊

      @@patrick87100 I guess for no particular reason other than it's what I got 😊 It might be a bit mor special than the average motorcycle you see around. The Italian brand Cagiva no longer exists. You might even call it vintage since adventure motorcycles have not been around for that long

    Enda en fin video. Mer av disse 👍👍 Fyller du 95 E10 bensin, merker du evt noe forskjell på sykkelen din? Hører folk klager på at syklene sine går dårlig men jeg merker lite/ikke noe på min gamle xl600 men den har forgasser så mulig det er være om man har innsprøytning.

    • @kihestad
      @kihestad  Před 8 dny +2

      Takk takk 😊 fyller helst 98 octan for det er hva motoren er laget for, men ikke så lett å finne. Viktig å fylle tanken med 98 siste to gangene før vinterlagring for å hindre kondens. Jeg merker egentlig ikke noe på ytelsen...

    • @1983Macgyver
      @1983Macgyver Před 8 dny +1

      @@kihestad det er sant👍Har funnet ut at et par lokale stasjoner her på Gjøvik nå selger 98 oktan. Så skal fylle der neste gang. Ja å fylle 98 før vinterlagring er nok viktig. 95 E10 inneholder mye ethanol og trekker derfor vann som du nevner på, og ethanolen er hard mot bensinslanger, pakninger og membraner osv.
