- Debby wanted to go camping for her birthday so we headed out to Sequoia National Forest so she could camp and see my Super Pacific camper in action! Along the way during a random stop in Havilah California I ran into my dad!

🤗❤️🏕🥳🎂🎁🎈🎉Happy Birthday, Debby. Waves to dad. Beautiful scenery. Hope you both kept warm.
Thanks Cindy! It was pretty darn cold - made it a bit uncomfortable but was a nice trip nonetheless!
Fabulous, Duane! So great you caught up with your dad. And the bloke eating his beard just before the photo was hilarious! What a hoot!
Yeah it was really a highlight of the day! Those people at the museum were just a great group of people. That’s why I wanted to get a picture with all of them. I probably should’ve asked to video them telling me about the place but I didn’t want to push.
Nice, Duane!!
Thanks for watching @itumblers!
Loved the time lapse on the truck. Thanks
Thanks so much! I'm getting better at those! Thanks for watching!
You probably have the most videos on CZcams of the big meadow area. ❤❤❤❤it can be a Fairly busy hunting area through October. Still a great area.
Lol yeah maybe so! Funny that I didn’t even realize it was there until a couple years ago. The hunters were less than over on Piute mountain. BUT all the cool spaces were taken. I just have to figure out my heating situation because 27 degrees was a bit cold!!!
Thanks for sharing Duane! Pretty nice Corvette your dads got there haha. Yeah, when i checked the weather before going up there, it said it would be around 50 at night. But it felt WAY colder than that... grateful my blankets kept us warm lol.
The really funny part is that the museum people were talking about corvettes going by and 2 others had just driven past. Then the guy goes, "There's another one", and I turn around and I'm like that looks like my dad's corvette and then when I saw the plate it was "that IS my dad's corvette"!!! Yeah it was WAY cold up there. I'm going to need to look at some solutions to that for my upcoming trips.
@@dustyroaddestinations omg, what are the odds of that lol, thats crazy dude
The only thing that would have been better is if I was recording a video segment when it happened! I'm sure there was a shocked look on my face
Great video. Love the night time time-lapse with the stars. I'm looking forward to making it out west to do some camping in the future.
If you end up in SoCal I hope we can meet up! Thanks (timelapse) I'm really wanting to play with that more, maybe get the milky way in one of them. My battery died during that one so I think I have a solution for that next time!
Great video Duane. Wonderful to see Dad and Debbie. Luvd the effects with the camera at night. How long did you leave the camera there at night for that spectacular footage. Drone footage was also awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Chris! Yeah it was really crazy that I ran into my dad. I left the camera out all night and it ran until the battery died. It was 20 second exposure. I really want to get better at those, they are a pain to do but sure do look cool!
Great video Duane !! I really enjoy this channel. That's a video of a court house I didn't mind watching lol
Thanks so much Dan I really appreciate you watching! That's a great point about the court house - I guess most of us don't have great "memories" of court!
❤
Thanks for watching Cathleen!
I haven't gotten through the video but I look forward to finishing it
Thanks for watching @jaklumen!
I saw a lot of fruit 😆 enjoyed the video!
Lol yep that’s kinda turned into my go to meal out there! Thanks for watching!
@@dustyroaddestinations so proud
My favourite video o’ yorne! Nice to see your dad. Dude I didn’t realise how tall you are! Was that your sister as well? Nice to see Debbie out and about!
Lol yeah I’m 6’2”. That was my dad’s wife my step mom. They’ve been today since I think before I was a teen. It was cool to get Debbie back out in the woods. Schedules just make it complicated. Thanks for watching!
@@dustyroaddestinations yow.. well you're an inch taller than me, at least first thing in the morning
LOL good point!!!
Great video Duane!
Thanks Mike! Really do hope one of these days we can do a trip together!
So cool you got to meet up with your pops! Was that the Kern that you showed on the way up there? Also what are you editing on? Love ya Duane! Keep them coming, I just took my dogs on a 4 mile hike, got home plopped on the couch and saw you just uploaded. What a treat.
It was really surprising to run into him out there. To be honest we haven't seen each other in over a year maybe two. Talk about crazing timing because it was just a fluke that they drove by while we were there! I'm editing on a Apple Mac Mini M1 and a 13" Macbook Pro with the M1 using FCP. I'd love to upgrade my computers but honestly the apple silicon really kicks some serious butt (or 4k footage). My goal going forward is to put out a video once a week. I would like to do Monday but just not enough time (most of the time) to get home and do the edit. I was actually worried I wasn't going to have enough footage to piece together a story. I even played around this time with the voice over on Havilah I'd like to start incorporating that as well. What do you guys edit on at work? Probably something like Avid?
@@dustyroaddestinations I too have the 13 inch MacBook Pro with the M1, love it, personally I edit on premiere Pro and currently as I type I’m at work and also editing on Premiere Pro. We used avid a long time ago, then a software called “velocity” but we have been on premiere for about a year and it’s nice because I am so familiar with it. We also just got the Mac Studio in all of our edit bays at work so it’s super fast. Really loving the content. I want one of those fire tables.. well let’s be honest, I really want a lot of the gear you showcase on your videos but the table will be my first purchase. I’m planning a backpacking fly fishing trip end of next month to the Forks of the kern. Should be fun. Have an awesome day Duane!
Nice! That's really cool that these other programs have made inroads in commercial editing. I've just move away from Adobe because of the ransomeware they charge. The only thing I still pay for is Lightroom and even that I don't use that much anymore. Here's the link for the one I'm using - amzn.to/46vpNWF - it's been great! It's a little messy afterward BUT it's nice to not have to have a ring or use a disgusting one. I *might* get one of those Mac Studio next year but fortunately my stuff is working. Oh since you also edit did you like my crud arrow, text, and "ding" when my dad was on screen??? LOL took me a bit to figure that out using the standard FCP tools. You doing a solo trip or with your buddies? Maybe I can catch you on the way out? I'm not really setup for backpacking. Not that I'm trying to invite myself on your trip! LOL
It would be great to maybe just meet up for a bite on my way out. Would be a Sunday. Yes I loved the arrow, that’s what triggered me to ask what you were using to edit, I use after effects from time to time and they have a way to pin text or graphics to a location, I thought maybe u were using it too. But to know you did that tracking in Final Cut is impressive. And yes Adobe is expensive, it’s a guilty pleasure of mine though. It’s like my “Starbucks coffee a day” I’ll let you know when we are going. Some time next month. Maybe I could meet you in kern or Isabella for some lunch.
Sounds great! I tend to be up in that area and if I know when I can make sure (or try to) that I'll be in that area. A few updates ago (maybe couple years) FCP added object tracking into the application. I always seem to have to look up videos to remember HOW to use it. I just dropped a basic text box and an object that I made the arrow. It worked MUCH better than I thought - finding a "ding" that sounded right was a bit of a PITA but it ultimately worked out. I haven't added it in a video but I tend to hit Ewings on the way out!
Wow, I am the first viewer…
Outstanding Tim!!! Thanks for watching. I should’ve explained the craziness of meeting up with my dad out there. I think it’s probably been over a year since we’ve seen each other.
