Writing and singing this at 19 years of age is just simply mind-blowing and that in itself just makes her so insanely amazing & beautiful in every way!!! Only "Lionheart." She didn't like it because EMI forced her to go into the studio and pick songs from her notebook of songs to record. She hated having to create something she didn't have an urge or idea to bring about. She was planning for "Never for Ever" to be her next album.
My parents used to remember seeing her when she was a little girl in the 1960's when she was about 5, near where they lived in Welling in Kent, she lived there too. Her father was a doctor.
She was actually 19. This was filmed in May in 1978. She was born on July 30, 1958. She was going on 20 then. But yeah, she was and still is lovely! :0D

Its partly based on The Ballad of Lucy Wan a couple of lines are taken from it, in that though the brother murders the sister so Kate is inverting it here, still a daring thing to do though. Kate was tuned in to folk songs through her brothers who were big on it

Agree, she is my favourite of all time, and I sometimes feel sad at how the music is now, she reminds us of true art, the way music should be. True, from the heart of the artist. Her beauty, passion and originality is something beyond words.

It is so incredibly ROMANTIC. It's a heartbreaking love song. I absolutely love it. And, yes, I don't know who else could have pulled it off.
