Learning Haitian Creole in 2024
me too me too!!! good luck :DDDDDDD
I love this .. I’m of Haitian descent both parents born and raised in Haiti and never took the time to teach us as children
I’m so glad you found this helpful! I’ll be making more 🥰
Same here 💔 help me out sis
OMG same here! I feel so left out smh 🤦🏽♀️
Same my mom is
I also am Haitian, please teach me
Love this!!! My mom is haitian. Didn’t teach me because she suffered a lot of persecution and bullying as a kid for not speaking English. I decided to teach myself and I wish this video was around when I started teaching myself. I love it! Can’t wait to teach my children
GOD JOB
Yay! So glad I found you. I'm Dominican, just found out my grandma is half Haitian 😔! Always wanted to learn it bc I have beautiful Haitian friends ... Now I absolutely have to! Thank you for your time.
I took French in school and see a littb bit of resemblance 🇩🇴❤️🇭🇹❤️
I just started Haitian Creole in Duolingo. I know I'll need more, so I'm a new subscriber. 🇭🇹🥰🇨🇦
I’m starting Haitian Créole on Duolingo as well! m ap aprann kreole :)
Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up with my lessons
Same here with Duolingo, but I think this channel will do more for me then just learning how to write it. The conversational part is more to me.
Samee
I’m Puerto Rican learning a third language, thank you for this video.
Me too!
Thank you, my parents didn’t talk to me in creole nor my siblings. I was born in America but they are from Haiti. I really wish they would’ve taught me.
Thank you so much My dad is Haitian and my mom is Jamaican but my dad never taught me Haitian Creole I always used to hear him talking with my family I only know certain words but I’ve always wanted to be able to understand and talk to my elders and soon teach my children
Same for me💯
That’s so weird because it’s the same for me 😭
Exact same situation with me 🇯🇲🇭🇹
She said that the number is 6AM
im learning creole to be able to communicate with the people around me. they are so kind when they see you trying, its a nice way to connect
Haitians are the most peaceful people and very social. I have decided to learn their beautiful language in hope that one day l will pay a visit to this famous world' s. first black Independent country. May God remember Haiti 2024.
most “peaceful” people? Hmmm, but very “social” yes!
Im a white boy who group up in a haitian household and the music in the background brought me back to the family parties they used the throw and i would be up til 3am dancing and eating and having fun. I miss my haitian family. They tried to teach me the language but i was so young i didnt appreciate it. Now im back here trying to learn so i can visit them and impress them. Thank you for your lessons!
how did it go?
Thank you for this video. My mom is from port-au-prince, but struggled to learn English and had a hard time growing up in the US due to language barriers. She decided to make sure I learned English first because of it, but now I want to learn Haitian Creole to surprise her and have a little piece of her home 💕
👍👍👍👍👏👏👏
I feel you. My dad's side is Haitian. My grandma passed recently and she only spoke creole. Since she's gone I've been longing to get closer to my roots
Your vid is my first lesson of Haitian Kreyol!
It was pretty easy for me, I've never spoken my language before and i like it probably also explains why English doesn't make sense to me sometimes. Oh btw I'm Haitian American and Native American a big half of my family is native from my mom's side and my dad's side.
Good job for doing this type of content, I am a proud Haitian and see myself as Kreyol ambassador. My goal is to encourage Haitian parents in the diaspora to teach our native language to their children it's such a great heritage! Thanks again, our people, this world
need you
Thank you so much for these series! My boyfriend is Haitian and I’m going to meet his dad in July and would love to be able to have a small conversation with him and his family 😊😊
Ohh! Sa bien! Bon travay!
Oh that’s good! Good job!
I'm so glad I found your channel. Mes meilleures amies sont d'origine haïtienne. Sa fait plus que dix ans que nous sommes amies and they would always talk in creole I said no More ... Listening to your channel and recently added it on Duolingo!!
Thank you for this video! There are lots of Haitian people where I live and work, so I feel like I could learn that beautiful language to improve my communication with them.
Felt attacked with the “I want better for you” 😂😅
Lmaooooo “I want better for you” 😭😭😭
Mesi for this video I am Haitian descent as well and I am very proud of my Haitian culture. renmen ou for this video Mesi a tout moun
Love this. My Bestie is Haitian so I want to learn so we can talk in different ways. ❤ It's such a beautiful culture.
Thank you for this! I was born in Haiti but was adopted to the US before 3 so never fully learned the language and always wanted to
Thank you for teaching me the Haitian alphabet😁👍🏽!
You’re absolutely amazing!
Thank you so much😭 my mom never spoke to me in creole when I was young cause my dad is jamaican and didn't understand
Thanks! Married a 1st generation Haitian American. She understands some Creole but not enough to teach me.
Thank you for making Haitian language videos! I have been practicing on Duolingo and I love this language!
Do you think that app is useful?
@@ryangreenwood1270 It is useful but its level of usefulness depends on if you are using it as a sole source of learning, or if you are using it as one tool out of many to learn. There are less resources available for learning Creole than other languages, so I would also suggest using a language exchange app as well.
@@ryangreenwood1270 it is useful, I learned a lot of phrases and words.
Hey @Hermantha. I'm a French teacher and I'm super excited to have found your channel so I can learn more about Kreyol and Haitian culture!
J'adore le R! 🤍 c'est tellement intense. Le créole c'est tellement chill et musicale je trouve. Always loved hearing it growing up.
wow lol I just took in I didn't know the Haitian alphabet.
hahaha I loved the video!!!!! can't wait for the rest of the series ❤️❤️
Good
Hello Hermantha, you have a new subscriber now, I love your lessons. Let me know if you put up the Haitian Creole learning series yet?
Thank you this was very informative. Much appreciated.🙏🏾
As someone who knows Spanish at a very beginner's level, I gotta say I do see and hear plenty of Spanish words and influences. Like Y in Haitian Creole is also very close to the Spanish words for Y, I griega.
I enjoy the energy in your video. You remind me of my sister 😂. I'm a proud and terrible creole speaking Haitian 🤦🏾♂️ who's found hope in your channel 🥺 - New Subscriber 👍🏾💯
merci anpil wi. i’m going to start watching everyday with my five year old 💖
Bonsoir
Please keep this channel going. I was looking for a way to teach my sons my native language. They enjoyed you. You make it super fun. Did I say I have 2 boys? The 6 years old one love ❤️ your beauty 😂
Great 👍 work!
Congrats on having 1k subscribers you have reached your goal! You did that. Girl, your paycheck from CZcams is on its way! Great job on your crash course, continue to educate your people.
Thank you so much for your support girl!! 🤍🤍
@@Hermantha Got you Sis!
Thank YOU for wanting better for us!!!!!❤
i was born in haiti but my mom dad and the rest of my family moved to te states when I was 2 but she never fully thought me creole
Congrats on 1K!! 😊🔥
Thanks girl 🥰
Our church has a large Haitian outreach, and we fellowship throughout the year at our general and international meetings. I am trying to learn the language and culture so that I can mingle with my Haitian sisters in the Lord, and who knows, maybe even visit Haiti one day!
Bon zanmi mwen se ayisyen. Mwen vle aprann kreyól. Mwen te itilize Duolingo, men li difisil. I really love your channel so far!!
I'm Cuban, I'm learning creole so I can talk to my beautiful Haitian female coworker
Currently learning Haitian via Duolingo and I wish the first thing they taught was the alphabet and numbers because I think learning would have been a little easier just started about 3 weeks ago
Kathleen disant "M nan blakawout" et le "ok baz" bon jan kreyøl ahahaha! Mèsi anpil pou kou eksprès lan lol. CONGRATULATIONS for your 1K!!!!🎉🎊
So happy to find you
This is good for me since I'm having lots of haitian kids coming to my school.
Bondye beniw 👏👏👏
My real comment : that was so good!! J’ai aimé comment tu as dit boule avec l’accent anglais 😂 et le black-out 😂😂😂😂
CONGRATS FOR 1K🥳🥳🥳🎉🍾
Non mais, c’est vrm comme ça qu’ils le prononcent 😭😭 Thanks sis 🥰
I am soooo jealous of you. You are pretty-beautiful, pretty-fun. Your english / french /haitian accent in on point. GIrrrrrrrl you ROCK !!!!. En Haiti, helas, je fais parti de ces generations d'haitiens qui n'ont pas recu un cours formel de la langue haitienne a l'ecole. Je suis une autodidacte, plutot ratee. Certaines lettres alphabetiques que tu as mentionne, me sont completement inconnues. Donc un grand merci et chapo ba !
Finally!
My mom is Haitian and she grew up around her family and I was around the Haitian side bc the family too just on holidays and I never learned and now I want to learn to be able to speak with my grandfather
" I will speak French too"my Spanish ass barely speaking English trying to learn Haitian in French 💀
I'm grateful my parents were proud to pass down their heritage+language to me. I want to pass it down to my children
😂 the way Kathy said “ok baz”
Totally thought the Haitian alphabet was exactly the same as the French🙃🤷🏾♀️
Glad I learned something new today🙌🏾
Belle narration !
I was looking some lessons to learn Haitian creole language but I used to write the key words in french. Now I found your channel I'm not going to let it go 😅
Girl you too pretty😙
Thank you my mom
Merci !!
Thank you!
Cool, I'm Canadian (mostly anglophone), and I get the French part of your language. For the most part I can get by with my French then.
Pale Kreyol se yon bagay nou dwe promote.
Thank you so much for providing us with this Lesson #1. I need to watch it again a couple of times so that it really sticks. One question: What is the name of the song in the background and who is it by? I know that it is Kompa. Mèsi!
1K👀🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Thanks boo!! ❤️
That's a beautiful and hard work.
As a rectification, we don't say EN(1) when counting. We say ; Zewo (0) YOUN or YONN (1) De(2)...
J'ai apprecié la vidéo pour de vrai.
“M nan blackout” 😭😭😭😭 that took me DOWN 😂😂😂😂
Can you do another video using the letters and how to pronounce them with words
OMGGGGGGGG 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Du bon boulot sister
First to comment!!!
Love you ❤️❤️
Mèsi pou aprann nou kreyol ayisyen
I'm new to your channel let's learn 🇭🇹 creole. I met 🇭🇹 people during Barack Obama's Presidency. In my childhood I never play with Caribbean kids I never have Caribbean friends. I never have Caribbean food in my childhood. I'm ready to try 🇭🇹 food & desserts. I'm allergic to seafood but I still want to try 🇭🇹 dishes
This woman got me in a chokehold 😩😩
Are you going to do more of these lessons?
Girl you look like Clair from tv show My wife and kids 😂❤❤she also played in You Got Served 😊
"I want better for you" 😂😂😂
She killed me with that tho 🤣🤦🏾♂️
Because of the way I spoke when I was young, my parents thought that I spoke Creole when I didn't (I would have this accent when I speak to zoes if you know what I mean). I spoke a little at that time but I wasn't fluent.
First Time Here!, U I’ve A NewSubie I Been Missing U 😘 A Lot 🥺🥺Also Am Haitian American 🇺🇸Am From United States Of America 🇺🇸 , My Parents Both Them Haiti From 🇭🇹 Also My Parents Don’t Teach Me These Stuff Also😞
Planning to make a comeback soon! Thank you xx

Can you make lessons for hospital words, sayings or phrases so I can better help my patients that I care for please? A Healthcare Setting Creole lesson playlist or something?
my gf and whole family is Haitian and her mom prefers speaking creole over english and i meet her in a couple of months so i’m trying to make a good first impression😭
🇫🇷
Is that a 1k that I see there 👀🔥
Ouii 😩💕
Hi. Does Haitian Creole have an accent on the last syllable like French? Thank you.
Se ch ki genyen pa gen h. Epi yo di doubleve yo pa di doub v.
I'm Seychellois... Our creole is 98% compatible 🤣🤣 I'm sure Mauritian creole is around 70 something percent...... Would love to see a Haitian a Seychellois and a Mauritian in a conversation 🤣🤣🤣
Ou twò bèl. Mwen pa t 'kapab rete konsantre sou leson an
Hermantha got me dehydrated, suddenly very thirsty 😍
