You gotta have depth, just because a guy isn't a starter doesn't mean they're not vital to the team's success. The reason why UGA, Ohio St, Bama, etc. compete at a high level is because they have so much depth. When Deion said he wasnt interested in high school recruiting I knew he didn't know what he was doing.
They actually have P4 starters/rotational players in the 2 deep now. Last year it was G5/FCS players.
Those schools you name have transfers also..They also have a lot more money than most..

Preach!!!!!!!!!!
Deion could be crushing highschool recruiting. I’m in shock that he is not all in on it even in year 2. Long term Failure is certain.
In the current state of transfer portal chaos, you are ABSOLUTELY out of your mind to believe a new program can afford to BUILD a team from incoming freshman and compete today. CU wasn’t afforded the old fashioned way of building a team. Times have changed, get over it. The state of football has NEVER been THIS current state of hall ass when you want to.
I can’t predict how soon they will win, but doing it your way would take 5-7 years. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Period! You can’t do it. It will
Take prime seasons to do that. He has to win now
@Mrfreshtake He said that last year to 4-8 is what you got. It doesn’t work
@@JJ-zr6fu this would have to be said for every single college football program in the country. @on3 is very insightful. It lets you see the real
Picture. Most programs had 30 plus transfers out including the majors
@@JJ-zr6fu I mean 40-50 other teams in FBS were 4-8 last year and they recruited the slow way. Whats your point?
Just wrong. You HAVE to recruit from high school.

Josh, let's explore your core belief: How do you intend to uphold team depth without overspending? As top-tier backup players depart for better opportunities without significant incentives, they're likely to explore other options. At a recent football camp, a prominent recruiter advised high school players aiming for the NFL to choose schools where they can make an immediate impact. If that doesn't materialize in the first year, the advice is to move on. However, if a substantial offer is on the table, sticking around for two years is advised, but leaving by the third. These players are the future, so your convictions will be tested this year and the next. Colorado maintains a strong core from last year, leading to confusion about your position. Dismissing this as a matter of principle disregards the swift changes in college football. Those like you, rooted in traditional perspectives, may need to adapt or risk being sidelined. College football is evolving rapidly, and it will never be the same.
Great take
There is no team that has fans divided and ready to talk more than CU right now. Once again in the off-season they’re the biggest story.
I wouldn't say they're the BIGGEST story this offseason but they've had their moments.
Yet he has failed to translate that into high school recruiting success.
The biggest story for all the wrong reasons…I don’t think that’s a win…🤣

Sanders was out coached in a number of games last season. There is no way this team wins 6 games this year!
Deion is Bulls-era Tom Thibodeau. He runs his first team into the ground and he doesn’t seem to care about depth, which is what it takes to compete.
Your butt is on the couch. Has not played one down in the NFL. So what credibility do you have to make that observation! If you can call it that!
@@jeannettefox3496 just using my eyes I guess. They started hot and then lost a bunch of games because they don’t have high-quality depth
cant do that when players can jump into the portal anytime they want, i suspect NCAA has allowed the portal to stay open multiple times to sabotage Deion's team however they have played into his hands lol. The problem with todays CFB, everyone wants to be 1st string if they are not starters then off into the portal they go. The players that Nick Saban just kept around chillin as depth, they all wanted to play but could not because CFB had talent on lock. Not anymore lol, this may indeed be its end..... for those who cant cope that is
because of the portal you cant have dept because the truth is everyone thinks they are starters. The minute they sense that they are not him in the portal they go. So smarty..... what do you do?
the days of only the 1% making billions off of talent are over.... well not really, the coaches like Nick Saban will leave and the coaches who where forced to learn their place by CFB upper class will now be the masters of the universe, like Mike Norvell whos been around 40 yrs but no one knows him.

Its 100% NOT. If he is going the portal route and wants to get his horse from there, that's fine but he NEEDS the 2* and 3* (And even walk ons) who will be there 4-5 years to really fill it out. otherwise in 2-4 years you are going to have scholarship problems and not have enough bodies on a roster. It could get ugly and QUICK.

No one is giving Coach Prime 3 or 4 years to start winning. I know it seems like a philosophy but it is really a necessity to use the portal. How else was CU going to improve the O Line and D Line?
Coach Prime speaks directly and with confidence bc honestly that's the only path available. So what's the use in crying about it when it is the most direct path to winning.
The Internet trolls won’t give him 3-4 years but that’s realistically what it takes.
He’s NEVER going to start winning consistently without high school recruiting.
@@dragonsurge1Tbf Deion brought those unrealistic expectations on himself. If I were to follow CU without knowing anything about CFB, I’d be thinking he’d be a playoff contender based on how much he ran his mouth about how good CU was gonna.

Love how you think his curated clips he puts out is who he really is.
I’m torn on this subject bc the way Deion recruits yes it can be a quick fix but you need those HS recruits to buy in to the program when you got guys coming from everywhere some are there to play and commit some for social media exposure I think they need to hit the 25 class hard as they can although I don’t agree with the social media strategy it’ll be the only way
Josh, is your view of the Big 12 based on any facts?
Below are the conferences ranked by number of transfers brought in so far for next season:
Big 12: 198
SEC: 196
ACC: 171
Big 10: 158
In this case, wouldn’t the Big 12 be the LEAST traditional since they’re so heavy on the portal??
His philosophy for building a program probably is actually built around recruiting; he just might not have much interest in building Colorado up long term
He's def not fully invested in Colorado long term. Deion's tryna run up a bag 💰. If that happens thru winning and using Colorado as a stepping stone to a bigger, better program -- cool. If not, endorsements, brand deals and selling books, all the while not winning, works too. Either way, Deion's leaving Colorado a richer man. Will he be a better, more accomplished coach when he eventually hits the exits? Probably not.
Then he has no integrity. If you’re not going to give it your best, then you shouldn’t be there.
@@MichaelBrown-ti1unYou can't use Colorado as a stepping stone to a "bigger school" when you are creating drama, losing players, and not winning.
It’s not that he’s uninterested in building it up long-term. It’s that in order to build it up long-term they have to WIN! NOW!
I feel like I’m in the twilight zone that people can’t understand this. He can’t get great high school recruits to come to a losing program. They have to win or it’s over.
@@machiavellisprince5986 that is ridiculous! He benefitted from an extreme amount of good media coverage since he took over at CU. When CU won a few games, he benefited from an extreme amount of coverage, celebrity appearances etc. He is NOT interested in recruiting hard. Notice how he said “I trust my recruiting team.” Which is to say he doesn’t go out and get in living rooms. He thinks that high school kids should just show up at his door. 🤣 The HC is the closer. If the HC is not looking parents in the eye and in their living room, why in the hell should they send their kid to play for him? Everybody has NIL in P5, CU gets a lot of undeserved national attention since Deion arrived. He failed to capitalize on that. And that’s on him. I can’t believe I have to explain it to you Sanders apologists. It’s like you guys are in a cult. He can do no wrong. Well, he’s a lazy recruiter. And he’s not building a foundation for long term success at CU.
Keeping kids for 3 and 4 years in the age of nil is easier said than done
its not NIL because these million-dollar companies are not in the business of just handing out money to unproven prospects. Its the bag from boosters that paying kids like Cormani $25k per month
Buffs have gotten better with every portal. Seems to go to reason they will get better with this Spring portal. Buffs lost 6 games by a score or less last season and won 4 games in a pretty solid PaC12. Seems to go to reason that Buffs will win more games this season if they get better after two more portals. They need to recruit Prep, but suspect when Deion turns on that spigot… he’ll succeed.
The naysayers will say you’re wrong but I agree with you. There will some team that eventually go deep into the playoffs and maybe win a natty that relied heavily on portal. But one word you mentioned “consistently” will prove the portal to be a quick fix only.
Yep like Florida State last year who brought in 21. Its not populate to talk about the because FSU doesn't make headlines. Just like Bama lost 35 players to the transfer portal. Not good for media though.
The 3 and 4 year model of development is gone now. These kids are leaving now. Deions model is TBD because we don’t have enough data to support your opinion as fact.
If you think that Coach Prime know EXACTLY what he's doing.
Josh you MISSEDTHEBOAT

I believe that as well gotta have a foundation first I totally agree
What did any players last yr do on they new teams?
Great question
You mean all the CU players that were pushed out? Probably not much. But then again what did they do before, not much? This year is a totally different story. The players leaving arent "Scrubs" from the previous coaching staff. They are players who played major minutes and highly rated recruits and who Deion brought in. CU will be decimated in 2-3 years and worse off than when deion got there. This will get ugly.
@@RCJH2022 alto is the only player that left that had success before
@RCHJ2022 they played major minutes for who? How are you pushed out before the staff gets settled in good?
@@a.k.446 You are asking what all the players who left LAST YEAR did on their new teams? I'm saying "not much" because they were all low rank recruits from a 1-11 Cu team. And pushed out the moment sanders stepped in the locker room and addressed the team for the first time. But now you have 17 players who prime recruited and are leaving after 9 months. Not good.
CP is attempting to change status quo. We shall see if it works or not
There was not a LOT of people who said they could win the Pac 12. There were a lot of people who focused on a handful of people who thought they could win the Pac 12. Nameless people on social media.
So much for developing young men in the name of the Lord.
Yeah, Demouey Kennedy is seeing the grass isn't always greener, lol. In the portal, yet again
I agree with Josh but if Colorado wins 8 to 10 games next year and Travis and Sheduer go early first round Colorado recruiting will go crazy. The biggest mistake the ncaa can make is to let Deion Sanders get proof of concept even last year if they just knew how to finish games they could have won 8+ games. In sports there is always something that comes along that can change the sport forever and all thats needed is proof of concept and then the huge explosion happens.

Can coaches, athletes, and athlete's parents publicly airing out the dirty laundry work? No sir. That culture is a double edged sword. You never have to guess, but some things the public just doesn't need to know.
Deion is building a team and repacing talent. He brings them in see what they have then either keeps them of lets them go. He’s building: he’s team is night and day from his very first roster. I know exactly what he’s doing. It’s season by season. He won’t keep paying you if you arnt it. He will replace you.
I disagree with you opinion on the portal. The portal has not been around long enough to say you can't build a Winning team. Let's give it another 5 to 8 years...
The way he recruits is getting kids starstruck, and once that wears off they realize he can't coach and then transfer
first chance they get!
~130 on the roster and more commits coming between now and the Fall. Of those about 15 are in the portal now and in all of the positions there are equal or better players still on the roster. Make your comment make sense.
5-7 at best, and they will lose the first game to ndsu
Georgia has 23 guys in the portal, guys that know they ain't playing leave. Colorado does need to up its high school recruiting tho
That's the 2 problems with CU. The guys on their way out of CU were getting snaps. And CU REALLY needs HS players. They don't need to be 4 and 5 Star Either. If they added 7-10 2 star guys who are going to be around 4-5 years to go along with their 6 HS recruits that still goes a long way.
I really hope you are wrong. If anyone can prove you and all the rest wrong it's Deion. And I would be disappointed if Deion was talking about just making a bowl game.
Coach Prime has only had one year to recruit high school players at Colorado. He has had some success recruiting 5 and 4 star guys and some solid 3 stars but he needs more. Give him some time. If Colorado can play entertaining football and win a few notable games, more HS players will be drawn to Boulder, certainly one of the most picturesque places to play football in the country.
It’s still unacceptable to only less than 15 HS recruits. Getting out recruited by schools like OKstate when ur HC is Deion Sanders is awful. Deion is the opposite of Dabo, he ignores HS recruiting and relies on the portal.
Don't Houston have 26 players in the portal? But all I see is praises about how the HC is trying to change the culture and how it will take time but it's gonna come together. He is per say "weeding" out the players that don't value academics over football. Yet, it's very little conversation on their mass exodus . I wonder what the difference is between him & Prime kinda, make u you go HMMMMM!!!
Where do you see praise
@@younggoose7315 So do you expect me to share my screen with you? Like what kinda question is that? But for kicks you can start with Rico Knows..
The difference is Willie Fritz is actually a very accomplished head football coach that has built programs.
New head coach. That's still only 1/3 of what Deion ran off last year. Dana Holgorsen was a joke at that program, Willie Fritz is seriously accomplished and has proven he knows what he's doing. Deion thinks he knows what he's doing, Acts like he knows what he's doing, Tells everyone he knows what he's doing, but anyone who try's to help or brim him back to reality is a "Hater" and prime try's to discredit anyone by trying to flex his on the field accomplishments. He is about to get a HUGE dose of humble pie.
The Portal hasn't been around long enough to be so dogmatic about what you can't do with it. This is nothing more than a purest mentality that can't see beyond yesterday. "You can't do this. You must do that." Imagine the world today if the Wright Brothers had that mentality. Let's give the portal a larger sample size of time, before we say what can and cannot be.

No disrespect, but you need to do your homework or simply call someone involved with the program. But hey, everything on the Internet is true.

Probably going to struggle 2nd half of the season. This opinion is without looking at their schedule. Colorado will have a decent team, lots of flash and playmakers but theyre thin at many positions. Once injuries start, season will get tougher.

Josh if that style is how you win why it wasn't working for Colorado for the last decade? This is a new day in football they're not waiting on you to win 4 and 5 years from now they want to win now.
The portal strategy *WILL NOT WORK* At some point they will have serious roster number issues. Charile Weis tried that at Kansas (2.5 years after KU was 12-1 and orange bowl winners) when he turned over the roster and went heavy with "Experienced" JUCO, 5th year sr players and Transfers. TOTAL DISASTER. It backloaded the roster and after 3 years it was totally depleted. Took KU 7 years to get their roster back to 80 scholarship players. Sanders sold out for a couple years of sold out spring games and hype but ultimately in 3 years CU is going to be *EVEN WORSE* than when he got there.
This is a long over drawn apples to oranges convo. Colorado was at the bottom from a talent perspective. YOU CANT OVERHAUL A ROSTER FROM THE BOTTOM WITH FRESHMEN. You talking heads talk just to talk. You have to replace upper class men with grown men not 18 year olds sir, and 18 year olds don’t wanna come to your school unless you are WINNING. The next phase with a foundation you will see more high schoolers. At this point he’s looking at quality from highschool and using scholarships for grown men with achievement and experience. Talking just for clicks
He’s not losing main players, he’s just losing some back ups
Nobody wants to talk about other teams who are losing 4 and 5 star players FROM THE SAME TEAM! How man players did Bama lose? I'm seeing teams losing 30 players, and people are focused on Colorado! You have a team in year two that's still building and trying to compare it to coaches who were handed everything... they just gave to keep winning to keep their jobs! If he was at Bama, you'd people would find a reason to make it all about him!
Alabama had 30 with a coaching change. Speak relative facts. How many did Deion have his 1st year? More than 30 right? He's had 16-17 thus far in the spring portal alone. Many are the same kids that he brought in his first year. Keep up, just this week Josh has been to Florida, UCF and Miami. Many other teams are being discussed and talked about.
You totally missed the point about how people like you keep Comparing Teams like Alabama to Colorado. Coach Prime inherited a 1 win team that nobody cared about. Unlike Alabama, where they have been loaded with dominate talent and wins for years. Even with the loss of Saben, kids still flocked there no matter the new coaches because that's the team that they grew up loving and wanting to play for. It's not even close to the same with Colorado. Of course Prime would focus on transfers in the first couple of years into the high school players can start seeing a Colorado like those Blue Blood schools.
The difference is Prime can’t coach
Saban not Saben! I'm not missing much here. Bottom line is win or get gone. That's the reality of the business. No matter the circumstance. There are very few Division 1 programs that will keep a coach 4-5 years for a rebuild. In my opinion, building your entire roster 85% or better is not sustainable for success. Most players in the portal either don't want to be coached hard, held accountable and only care about themselves and not the greater good. If you want to go somewhere fast, go by yourself, if you want to go somewhere far, go together. @@caronduncan4821

Quite the perspective. Especially coming from people completely void of culture and how to build one. I’m itching to know how YOU would establish a working culture in your first few years let alone a winning one. But save it I’ll answer for you.
Firstly, you have to establish a standard. How can you build rapport with high schools unproven? The standard of excellence has to be at the forefront of ANY culture and that didn’t exist prior. Next you need competition. You can have all the 5 freshman you want but it means nothing if the locker room is weak. You won’t hit the field and win and you won’t develop them in time to produce meaningful results. And lastly you need an image. How on earth do you convince a kid with limitless possibilities and potential to arrive at fricken boulder… they took 80 new players hit the field and won. Thats development. New coaches everyday, each with more relatability and higher standards. This bar and image that’s set is what will make a kid go to a team. Knowing that they can fight for a spot in a vicious culture for a chance to shine and reach the next level. Yes, as adults we want reasonable and logical. No, kids don’t want that shit. And kids weren’t going to no damn Colorado. His usage of the portal is correct in establishing the bar he’s trying to set. He will grab those diamonds in the rough. He will polish them. And prove that his establishment is capable of getting you to the NFL. It takes 1. Win or lose they will come after that.
Shut up
I love your humor.
@@Fluffylife420 answer the question
@@rayshunterrell1417 I’m just trolling….you know, like someone else we know 👀
@@Fluffylife420 😂. But this is my point. Report the facts. Some people use this information to bet. To distort the facts due to a personal bias is an abuse of the platform. Deon sucks enough as is. We don’t need the extra herbs and spices from the peanut gallery making it hateful.
Why is everyone so concerned about Prime and Colorado? Bunch of clowns with malice in your hearts!
No one is concerned about Colorado normal people just can’t figure out why the others think Deion is a good coach
what?
Colorado is a bad program with or without Deon
Its like the nfl , rarely does the team that wins free agency win a championship
Payton Manning - Denver Broncos?
@@phillyutcdidn’t he get benched for ossweiler?
@@nicholastaiariol2631 Ha ha ha.....I have lost count, wasn't there a Boo Radley on the roster back then?
Y’all talking like y’all know or understand the plan. Who said he was doing this for longevity? Who said he was doing this as a permanent solution? For such limited information y’all surely do know how to run with your own head canon. @patestate you yourself said that when colleges pay a huge pile of money that they’d expect to start winning right away. How dare you demonize his portal usage as if you forgot the situation he’s in as a whole. Hypocrisy. I want to hear your approach. You got 1 year. 87 new player, some injuries, completely new staff, and a Colorado level program… by the second year give me your plan to be a bowl team….. explain your usage of freshman from the high school ranks. Explain your resources going to raw talent and not wisdom from the portal. Now go win. Explain it to me
I feel CU goes 5-6 wins.....
Prime is leaving CU after this year for a sec team closer to home with deep NIL pockets watch
He is in the portal. Because he can't convince top high school recruits, their coaches, and parents. To buy into the coaching we watched out of Colorado last year.
Bruh
Cut it out
This had to happen
Read the book the strategy is sound
We know our people
You can't criticize what you have never seen before
No one has built like this
He is changing the game
He didn't have time to build the program the conventional way
He caused nil to come into existence
Because if you aren't offering us the bag 💰 why would we go to your school to make you money
The balance of power was shifting so they through the bag 💰 at it
The where always payjng others sports
Colorado doesn't have the funds for the bag 💰
So Deon brought the culture and it happened this culture is mixed
It's not just blacks it's everybody
We are one
These guys don't understand depth and unfortunately he doesn't have time to explain this
He is doing a terrific job recruiting
He needs to introduce them to things outside the culture to make them good men and solide citizens
When will we know if he got it right
Offensive coordinator
Defensive coordinator
Game day management
Until then this is unprecedented
So how can you grade it
How long would it take to build a roster and create depth in the nil era
Why do you think Nick Saban quit
Smart 🦉🤓
Colorado will Win 3-5 games in 2024.
Stop the hate
So...CU will be 4-8 again
No
the strategy is to prop up his sons as much as he can then leave as soon as they are in the nfl
Bruh nobody talking bout the transfers he getting tho he getting sophomores and juniors n have 11 high school recruits in April y’all jus wanna hate CU not the only school doing this jus say you don’t like Deion we will be a bowl team this year
They have no offense and defensive line. They will be 3-9..
They're not even talking about playoffs. All I hear from Colorado is which NFL teams Coach Sanders is going to let draft his kids.
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE U....
That's not true. He lost potential 2 or 3 good players.
Yall have zero logic. High school recruiting is null and void with the transfer portal. You all are just talking emotionally. Why not get a portal transfer player with three years or two years left. There is less of a learning curve than a high school student. Unequivocally you can build a team in the portal. It’s the same thing minus a year
High school recruiting is null and void? What does this even mean?
@@LateKickwithJoshPate John. Don’t be a snark. You’re highly intelligent. You know my comment doesn’t mean obsolete. Problem with your commentary is that you vacillate too much. When CP started winning you go “Oh I was wrong”..”He starts losing you say”I told you so.” Pick a dern side! Problem is you all are talking about wins and losses too much. As an entrepreneur, I realize that if the Buffs win 2 games it won’t matter. They will remain the hottest ticket in town because of the narrative. The impact of his 4-9 team has been 113 million to the Boulder area economy. He has absolute job security because finances run this college football era. He leave Boulder returns to obscurity.
Deion was never going to be a long term solution for Colorado. He's just a brief flash.
How many players did Bama lose🤔⁉️ How many teams whose coach was handed everything did NOT lose 20 plus players and multiple 4 - and 5-star players! How many top 5 teams fisher bring in transfer players? How many teams didn't lose freshman recruiting? At least 5 of the top players in the country spent 9 months at a school and hit the portal... make these dumb comments make sense! YOU said he's leaving, are you Deion?
@@C_71 Why are you comparing a team that won 4 games last year with Alabama? Alabama earned the benefit of the doubt, believing in Colorado right now is believing something that has never happened will happen.
Alabama will obviously be better than Colorado, and I hate Alabama but ofc they will be, it's delusional to suggest otherwise.
EVERYONE knows Deion is leaving Colorado when his sons do. That's why he refuses to recruit. If you were planning to stay, why would you set your team up for failure every year? Colorado doesn't care about winning, its about generating money for his sons.
Your hope is that he will leave. When did he refuse to recruit?
Lmao everybody or prime haters and white folke
Deion is all about himself . He overshadows any players that’s why he’ll never succeed as a coach. He just wants some fame before he burns out. He’s irrelevant and he doesn’t know it yet .
Gotta 'cruit and Deion is no a fan of that.
Deion is gonna leave when his sons leave. Thats the real reason he isn’t recruiting a future base of HS prospects. When Deion & his sons leave, all those transfers are gonna leave. Colorado is gonna get left high and dry with no roster and no relationships with HS players or coaches. It’s a Pump & Dump. Thats the ugly truth of what’s going on here.
Deion is leaving after his sons move on to the NFL
Please stick to YouTubing, if you know as much as you claim, go be a coach…
How much did I claim I know?
what? lol...
It’s easy to watch and critique, you know a lot about how this stuff goes, your words, I’d love to watch you work the talk… but don’t quit your days job… keep talking trash!
They are also losing highschool talent lol
Deion was a great player, one of the best of all time! He has not spent the time to learn how to be a major college coach. He needs to be a little more humble and learn how to deal with players! It's a big difference between people and players. He won't win anything in major college football until he adapts ! Good luck prime time.
Not serious football program. It’s a joke.
Im gonna be honest as a Longhorn fan I can’t wait for the SEC this year but I’m more looking forward to trolling the Colorado Thug boys. I think it’s absolutely Hilarious. Time to go back to HBCU Deion Thug Sanders.
