  • Hey house lovers and explorers!
Today we have 3 homes from 3 distinct periods with the first home being a classic original 50`s home built in 1954 and was in the Parker family for 60`s until it was sold in 2014 as a deceased estate. The only thing to be altered after this sale was the carpets pulled up and the lino in the kitchen but you will see these still in place in the real estate pics from 2014.
The second home is a beautiful old Villa built between 1900-1910 and was also in the same family for about the same time. Alterations had been made and extended at the back but there is a massive car port loaded with stuff (Ken :-) ) Unfortunately like so many old old Villas this one recently had a date with the excavator and lost.......
The third home was a cosy neat and tidy little bungalow built around 1920 and was in the salvage stage but still had the nice stained glass and mantles but the the exrensions at the real had alreadty been knocked down.
Hope you all enjoy, cheers for watching :-)

It does make you wonder when its a deceased estate, that the previous owners would be rolling in their grave if they'd see what's going to happen to this absolutely stunning example of the 50s. All the sweat, tears, memories and hard work makes a home of such beauty as this❤
But documented now I'm sure they're cheering you on!

Loved all three! That shed/shop has every frig the house had it seems. Amazing! My dad had a building from the military base nearby that he used for his man cave long before we called them that. The base was where he served in the army and you could buy old buildings cheap if you moved them. It was the hang out for all the men folk esp in winter. He had all the old appliances and furniture as well as tools, tv, etc. Not sure exactly why he quit using it but it kind of sat there for some years. He had a stroke in 2009 and for some reason he wanted that building gone. The roof was leaking and it was getting moldy. We have video of him driving his electric chair around in circles on the cement pad. He passed in 2013. Such bittersweet memories. Thanks for sharing. ❤️

First home was a Great quality 50s House, the corner windows by the fire, a old hardwired clock( when they got old the buzz from the motor would drive you strange) built in valance for the draperies.. I had a neighbor who used to use a pasta maker and had linguine drying hung over a broomstick in her porch. homemade tomato sauce and preserves as well. Can just see the old owner of the seond place out there pressing his grapes as well Cheers.

The first home was loved, and so clean. It reminds me of my in-laws house. A lot of the same colors. They had the original bathrooms in the house. (blue & pink) They had their house built in the late 50s. It was sold when they died 2019. The house flippers gutted it except for the hardwood floors. My mother-in-law would have been sad. She took such pride in her home. They raised 4 children in that small (by today)house.

Having grown up in late 1940 and 1950 homes, house no1 was wonderful history for me. I think no1 was a high end build for the time, hence the quality wardrobes, cupboards etc. The Smiths 240 volt wall clock is iconic for the 1950s and '60s. The company I worked for from the early 1960s was a distributor and servicing agent for the Smiths clock manufacturing company ... if I saw one of those at a market I'd 'grab it with both hands'!

I would hope the one good thing is they do save some of the pieces to use elsewhere I’m sure at a price.

@@urbexindigo5164 thanks for the answer. I've been in a lot of 50s houses in America and I don't think we had that.

I grew up in Ohio in the 60s and 70s and remember getting milk delivered by the milk man. We had an insulated box next to the front door. When you empty a bottle you put it in the box for the milkman to pick up on his next delivery.

@@myretiredlife.9261 I was born in 71. Either the houses in the areas I lived in didn't have anything like that or else they had been remodeled long ago and I just never saw them that way.

Stop and go back! 🤗 What was that four seasons box on the wall of the second home? I have something similar on the wall in my kitchen. My townhome was built in 1964. I haven’t been able to figure out what the box did.

Do these old fittings like bathroom and kitchen cupboards get salvaged and sold?
I'm looking to redo my fifties home in original style. Maybe everything just gets bulldozed. If any one can recommend a good salvage yard which sells this kind of stuff would be appreciated.
    Thanks Pamela

All this is really depressing but... the beautiful floorboards, do they take them out and resell them? What I mean is here in the states people will often buy old floorboards from homes that have been demolished and put them in new homes or houses they're refurbishing or whatever. Do they do that down there?
That first house, it's criminal. It's 10x nicer than my 1945 house, and I only have 1 bit of art deco work in the kitchen. (I did buy mine from the original owners' kids after the parents died.)

Thank you Paul for an interesting explore of three lovely gold gems, all from different eras. The first home 🏡appeared to be structurally well built for the early 1950s and would no doubt be an Art Deco home lovers dream purchase. I absolutely love the stone facade of the Federation Villa 🏚and would have been an ideal home to restore. Even the Bungalow had character and so much to offer if restored back to glory.🏚😊
