    All of this is great, but "I use all submissions as control positions" is the most important sentence in the video, IMO.

    The kimura/double wristlock game in the gi and no-gi are two completely different animals. The gripping of clothing in gi makes it a pain in the backside.

    Guys, particularly i like use that kimura attack from guard to setup omoplata on the other arm, bigger guys will stay heavy and trying stop your hips motion, setups are fundamentals , obviously if you isnt confortable dont pull heavy guys to your guard !! Try keep on the top, throw down and work with guard pass, control the fight.

    My bjj instructor tought me this after passing half-guard. That means he found me physically weak. Im insulted now.

      Or maybe he just found that you might encounter someone stronger?

    Definitely agree with what he's saying. Being 5' 9'' and 150 means most of the people I roll with have 20+ pounds on me some even having 80-100lbs. Only place I ever really want to be is in side control or on their back, maybe in a very high mount. Definitely gonna try that north south variant of the kimura really liked that.

      You can do it its just what hes talking about with the skill awareness variance, if you do attempt it just be prepared for whatever and react accordingly. Everything can be countered, reversed and capitalized with enough anticipation.

    It's easy to hurt someone with a kimura. When rolling in the gym, I don't practice these types of technique, because these require some fast jerking movements. I love getting to that kimura position though and then going for an arm bar or setup for a bratoplata.

    • @guam58
      @guam58 Před 4 lety

      The only jerky movement will be the rip away from the defense. But, that rip away does not compromise the shoulder. The only compromise is the finish. Once you break create the oval to take the arm back then stop. The baratoplata is much more compromising technique than a kimura.

    I am 5'11" 230 lbs, And the Kimura Lock Personally interested me when I was reading about Frank Mir breaking a Fighter's arm with it, I prefer to do a Standing front Kimura, I did it with some of my friends and told them to attempt to break out of it, And there are the Responses
    One of my friends kept turning around and it was hard to do it Properly
    One of my cousins slid his leg behind of mine and tripped me early on
    One friend tried to pull out
    And the last one Resisted me pushing his arm back
    What do I do in these Situations?

      BardiXgamer Official standing Kimura doesn’t really work so well. Maybe if you had them against a wall or other surface. If you have the Kimura grip while they are standing try to roll them forward with it and finish from the ground.
