There is a theory that Edna is such a great costume superhero designer because she can see/sence the future (hence how she was able to make jackjacks suite work so well while not knowing what his power was)
P.s. the short "jackjack attack" shows all his first powers while the baby sitter had a meltdown. Its sooo much fun!
Incredibles 2 shows even more of his powers (one of which you'll love as edna babysits him) so watch both ok?!
I always assumed that the ending was to simply imply that "crime never sleeps, always be prepared" and that the incredibles family was always prepared and works as a team haha so you saying "they left it on a cliff hanger" was funny as i never saw it that way

True, ultraviolet light is outside of the visible spectrum, correlating to invisibility. Even Jack Jack's name is a play on the term "jack of all trades".

Bob's strength represents the fact he's the head of the family, Helen's elasticity the fact she needs to be everywhere in the house (because she's a housewife), Violet wants to be invisible because because she is in the middle of a teenage crisis (it's why she hide herself behind her hair), and Dash is the hyperactive children who can't stay in place

The villain's name "Syndrome" is a reference to "Hero Syndrome." It's a pattern of behavior where someone creates dangerous situations that they can then save others from. For instance, a firefighter who starts fires. Or, in this case, Syndrome created a city-destroying robot that he intended to "defeat" to save the city, in order to boost his ego.

Yes, she was following Frozone, but I think that was precisely because it was known that Frozone and Mr. Incredible were best buds, so he might lead them to him, which he did. Otherwise, they'd probably just try to trap Frozone like they did all the other superheroes.
Frozone and Mr. Incredible were even paired together in cartoons, if you watched the DVD extras. 🤣

I love how this movie throws so many super hero tropes on their heads and relates the Parr’s (The Incredibles’) experience to the average nuclear family or whatever. Like them trying to find directions to the giant robot while on the freeway was perfect and so true. My parents used to do that _all_ the time (but without the dangerous driving, super powers, screaming, and killer robots). And rather than going “eh, it’s fiction I can do what I want” when designing characters, they really went and thought about the functionality of capes.
Honestly I could rant about this movie for hours, every time I watch it I want to cry at how well thought out and beautiful it is. From the comedy (“We survived but we’re dead!”) to the action, to dramatic moments and character building, to the adult jokes (I love the insurance ones. I definitely didn’t catch them the first couple watches. “Well let’s hope we don’t cover him.”) it’s all so beautiful.
It’s just a masterpiece. And the second movie did not disappoint.

The plane scene is incredible because it actually implies Helen was at some point prior military. She uses correct Naval aviation terminology, and followed all the protocols for the situation she was in.
She first started by giving her call sign India Gold Niner Niner or IG99 and requesting an approach vector. She made the tower aware of her presence and asked where she should go to set up for landing.
When she got no response she asked again and nothing.
When she hears the radar lock alarm and sees the missles she says "IG99 Transmiting in the blind guard, disengage I repeat disengage!"
Transmiting in the blind means shes talking to the tower without establishing two way communications. She's telling the tower that she can't hear them, so if they've been giving her orders to turn around or that she was entering restricted airspace, she hasn't been receiving it. Normally this would mean they would stop firing and send an escort plane to escort the Helen away from the airspace or to a safe landing zone.
After the second volley of missles she says "IG99 IS BUDDY SPIKED DISENGAGE!" which means "I am a friendly aircraft and I am receiving radar lock from friendly forces, DO NOT FIRE"
Everything else she says is also accurate minus a slight mess up with her Mayday call (which I can excuse because she's got freaking missles flying at her)
