I worked Auto for a few years in the late 90s through early 2000s. I preferred to work late due to traffic and always loved Disney after dark. On quiet nights at Auto 2 or 3 position (the two positions where you work alone away from the station) there were several nights I KNOW I saw someone in early Autopia costumes---usually in Car Park, on the former Peoplemover track before the downhill, and about that area where you heard it near off-road on lane 3 and 4 heading to the overpass. Several fellow CMs of Auto. Mono, and Rods had witnessed the same thing. It gets creepy out there alone at night.
Could that be a Halloween feature on the ride? That area has has PA speakers and riders are being viewed on cam. You feel like you're being talked to. Like how it is in Turtle Talk with Crush.

one night, many years ago, i was in the magic kingdom on new years eve. i was unexpectedly cold, so i had to buy a jacket in one of the merch shops. it was different what one i normally would have purchased, big and puffy, and kind of stood out. way late in the evening, when almost everyone had left, i was on pirates, and was the sole occupant of a boat. the whole way through the ride, a CM kept taunting me with this disembodied voice that kept saying "nice jacket".
That's still funny epic random lol. Just huhhhh. Who's this mysterious voice. Hmmm is he cute ? Lol. I couldn't stop laughing during the live stream. Just awesome too. There will be no conclusion too this .he needs too be found !! We need Scooby Doo and he gang for help !!
This was great - creepy; but, great - I was on live when it happened the other night - I think you should try to get them to do this again - if you feel comfortable doing so - try riding on Autopia each visit for the next few times later at night and see if they try it again ... I think some Cast Members are pranking some riders ... just my thoughts ... !
