- Hey you guys! WOW! Another beautiful song by Pink Floyd! Lyrically it is amazing! Their musicianship is unquestionable! Mia and I are in love with David's guitar style! This song got me emotional, but I forced myself not to cry! LOL! Time... why does time go so fast? As Mia listened to the song she got school memories while I felt goosebumps. Unfortunately, we have to pause for copyright reasons. But, this is a song worth not pausing and listening with your eyes closed! We are so happy that we listen to you all! Thank you so much for this request! As always stay safe and we'll see you in our next video! We love you guys!

The older you get, the more you understand this song.
Came here to say the older you get, the more this song means. It's meant something different every decade of my life whenni was a teenager, it was a cool intro and an amazing guitar solo. Now it means so much more.
That’s for sure!
This one son that nowadays makes me tear up.... Also Alan Parsons : "Time".
@@josemorales5117 "Who knows when we shall meet again, if ever", gets me every time.
@Farmersboy Amen, Brother! 🍀🙂✌
This song is fine wine. Only gets better with age
Not gets better with TIME?
@@mem1701movies it was so tempting
True that
Never was a Pink Floyd fan growing up. But it’s because I never listened. Pink Floyd music is poetry. Wish I listened in high school.
There is a real deep message in this song girls. Life is short. Don't put off your dreams and life's experiences for later. Chase those dreams now, for life is short and you will be old before you know it. Time never takes a break, and continually marches forward.
at 52, have to say you're 1000% correct. goes by too fast, ladies.
Wait 20 years and listen again, that's when it really hits you
As someone who is nearly 60 and grew up with Pink Floyd it is great to see the younger generation appreciate this amazing band. As the saying goes. "They don't make them like this any more".
There's something awesome about teenagers vibing to Pink Floyd in the 2020s… Love it
Guys, Please do yourself a favor and listen to this album start to finish. Its basically a 45 min symphony. The Greatest album of all time. You wont be sorry.
Geniuses
Thrilled to see that you get it, but that train really hits you when you’re 40+ and you realize that time moves exponentially. That makes the fact that the boys were still in their 20’s when they wrote this masterpiece just amazing.
It hit me when I was 27 lol it made me realize how my youth just burned away so fast and now having kids just blows my mind more
When Mia closes her eyes... THAT'S THE WAY YOU LISTEN TO AND appreciate Floyd... she gets it...
Yes, I saw that moment too! Spot on! 😌👌❤
Yay! Thank you SO much for doing more Pink Floyd. I love this song, it gets more meaningful every time I listen to it. You both seem to get it and let the song take you someplace else. The whole album is a legit trip. If you are ever up to it, light a candle, close your eyes and you will go somewhere in your mind you’ve never been. There is nothing like hearing this whole album for the first time. If you girls have an hour to kill do the whole album, it’s really just one song and Time is merely a chapter in the middle. Thank you again for making this reaction video, I loved it!
Thank you so much Alison for your kind comment! We might consider doing the entire album! That would be our first! LOL!
How great to see the young appreciating the Floyd
It starts with the act of birth, then heartbeat of newborn child, then story of the life till sound of final bells.. What a genius piece of art.
Dark Side Of The Moon it's an album to be listened to in its entirety to really get its meaning. It's one of the most sold and succesful albums in history, although it's not commercial.
The line "The time is gone, the song is over. Thought I'd something more to say." really was the end of the song. The part that comes after it was the end of another song. Time is the 4th track on Dark Side of the Moon. The second track is Breathe, and the fade-out of Time is called "Breathe, Reprise".
The album is very deep. Pink Floyd had lost a band member to mental illness, and that influenced a lot of their songs. The entire Dark Side album revolved around it.
If you really want chills, try playing The Great Gig in the Sky. It's the 5th track from Dark Side of the Moon, and doesn't have any lyrics. But it does have vocals, and talks to you without needing words. Trivia: Great Gig featured a singer named Clare Torry. She was called to the studio, given the sheet music, and got minimum direction on how to sound. The entire recording session was ad-libbed by her without her knowing what it was really about. Yet it fits with the rest of the album perfectly.
WOW! Thank you Larry for making a compelling argument to listen and react to "The Great Gig in the Sky! "
The best way to enjoy pink floyd is relaxing in a dark room with your eyes closed and just let the music carry you
You ladies are still young and have your whole life ahead of you . This song is a message to you both.
As an old man [74] I bought this album when it came out and--even--today it moves me emotionally; opinion: greatest album--Dark Side of the Moon--of 20th century.
You girls are so young and that's why this song should be so relevant to you because before you know it time passes so quickly. These guys really hit it when they wrote this song. Everything's so perfect and relevant. It actually brings me to tears sometimes. Just slow down and enjoy every moment you have.
Wait about 20 years. This song will mean a lot more to you then. I was 18 when I first heard this song. I'm 65 now. It had become more and more meaningful as each year passed.
For future reference... less pausing, more listening.. the best way to hear the Floyd.
I think they might be constrained by copyright issues from playing continuously without pause. If that's the case then I think they're doing it quite well - I've certainly seen much worse. But yeah, it would be nice wouldn't it?
I feel so absolutely blessed by this technology that I've been fending off for years and years. I feel like I'm a kid in a record store 🤪 When I was a kid in a record store I had no money and I had no sense, lol
My brother though had the BEST taste in music 👍 and because he didn't smoke he ALWAYS had the money but graciously let me listen to my heart's content 🤗🥰😪🙏
High Hopes, live from The Pulse Concert. Pure brilliance!
Great Gig in the sky is the song that comes after this in the album, you’ll be blown away by the vocals
This is one of 3 songs I have stored away on a thumb drive for my daughter to listen to after my passing someday. The 3 songs represent what I like and what I want for her in the future w once I'm gone. They also tell a little of how I've felt about my life...such as the lines from "Time" ...."And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.".....that even though I don't have many, I have some regrets of letting time slip by me and not accomplishing everything that I could have.....extraordinary that you young girls realize how deep this song is......
Rick, I (Juliet) read your comment, and I had to re-read it! I was moved with what you said! I truly don't know what to write, but thank you for sharing your story with us!
It's so wonderful to see young people discover this great music! Gives me hope for the new generation. Rock on!
This album stayed in the Billboard Top 100 albums for 745 weeks. That's 14 YEARS. That's 3 years longer than Mia has been alive. The start, with the guitar playing a single note, and the drums doing a refrain that becomes increasingly complex, is a compositional style called, 'call and response'. David is using his famous 'Black Strat' in this recording. It sold, for charity, at an auction last year, for $3. 975 million dollars, making it the most expensive musical instrument in history. Asked later what he thought of that he shrugged and replied with casual ease 'It's just a guitar.'
As a 53 year old I can relate to this song and about how short time is and wasted years.
Just remember in a few years listen to it again, it changes how you feel the older you get.
revisit this song in forty years to reconsider the lyrics...
don't blink...
I have...
At the time of my input, there are 747 comments and even more replies. Most from older generations that have been listening music for this for 40,50 years. Most of the albums from this time era were Progressive type and were ment to be listen to in its entirety. Dark Side of the Moon is probably in my personal top five, But that album only touches the surface of what is out there. There to much to list but please explore and enjoy it all. After all, it's taken most of us 50 years to truly enjoy what you girls are discovering. Please thank your parents from all of us for encouraging you both!
THank you James for your kind words!
I totally agree James. There is so much out there. I became 'stuck' musically in the 1980s but since COVID I found CZcams and discovered so much more out there, now love Rammstein, The Hu, etc. I have been very lucky to have seen The Who, Deep Purple, Floyd, Jethro Tull, Spooky Tooth, Black Sabbath, the list goes on and on. It is great to see music transcend the generations. Stay safe.
2 minutes in and you got really good flash backs from school. NAILED it!! Great reaction 👍🏼 Looks like the words really got to you as well as the music 🙏
Thank you The_Judge_!
I just got my first car and this album came , I had it on 8 track , soooo many years have passed. I’m 65 and still a Rocker . 🤘🎸
\m/
Pink Floyd will never be over with , you just need to get the vinyl and it is there for life .
This is supposed to be followed by The Great Gig In The Sky. At the end of Time, death happens(the tolling of the iron bell), then it feeds into the Great Gig In The Sky, where you hear a woman vocalize the stages of death, like Denial, Defeat, Acceptance, and Peace. These two songs together are incredibly powerful, and the Great Gig would've made you cry.
Dark Side of the Moon.......one of the BEST albums EVER........by one of the BEST Bands ever !!......This album blew us away in the mid seventies......every song a classic !!.......Pink Floyd music never ages.......Top 5 of my all time favorite bands !!........keep up the GREAT reactions girls......once again.......AWESOME reaction !!
Dana's Faith + Pink Floyd. CZcams as usual giving me great recommendations.
Thank you for your kind comment Hold my beer!
Good flashbacks from school. Exactly girl..... That's how you should listen to Pink Floyd.
Loved Your Reaction Ladies !!You wait until you're 66, like me, and THEN see how time flies. It seems one minute you are a Teenager then in your 20's soon followed by the '30s and '40s. At 50 you first become conscious of your age. At 65 in THe UK you, officially, become a Pensioner, and now at 66 receiving my Pension and in perfect health still with no real aches or pains I have become more than aware of the fragility of life with friends and heroes and Role Models, musically, and in Sport and The Arts suddenly passing and with each departure, a little bit of you slips away as well but then I stop and think how lucky I am and I am fine again....:) Good Luck, you are both very mature...!
Thank you so much for sharing! And thank you for our comment!
The entire album“Darkside of the Moon” is one long symphony, if you listen to the entire album, not just the music, but the words as well, it’s a masterpiece
Good choice girls,
Thank you!
@@danasfaith5738 Next listen to The Wall. It is one of the best albums ever. It tells a story through the course of the album.
The song is over but it glides effortlessly into the next one. This is one of those albums that should be listened in its entirety from start to finish. Please take the time to do that and you will be glad you did.
I was 21 when I first heard this song. almost 47 years later I am still listening to it. It means more to me every year. I wish I could have really understood the meaning and paid more attention to the warning when I was young. I know even if I had it to do over I would fritter away my time when I was young and going to live forever.
You need to listen to this and really take in the lyrics every 10 years at least. It would even be better if you listened to it on a regular basis.
Note the lyrics, ladies. No better advice as to the fleeting nature of time will be given to you.
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
Hello ladies “ seeing what’s behind the door great statement that’s what floyd does opens doors and windows to your mind Juliet your the same age as I was when I first heard pink floyd try the
GREAT GIG IN THE SKY
Mia I’m jealous because I wished I was your age now and listening to these great tracks your playing I love all your reactions even if I’m not to fond of the tune you two bring a whole new dynamic to the tracks what a great journey your on right now absolutely wish you the best luck in the world and thanks for cheering everyone up all power to Dana’s faith
Thank you for your kind words Tony! We do the reactions with pride, open mind and sincerity ! Thank you for enjoying our reactions!
Your reactions to great music always make me smile and I needed that today.
This song will hit you diffrent in about 20 years
Amen to that.
This is a lovely reaction, very insightful for girls of your tender ages. I'll be 62 next Friday, and this song grows more and more poignant with every passing year. Please continue your journey through The Dark Side Of The Moon; the next song is "The Great Gig In The Sky", which may bring a tear or two with its beauty. And then comes "Money", which has one of David Gilmour's greatest guitar solos. The album is best as a whole, but each of the individual parts is brilliant by itself. So let's get to it . . . YEEE ! ! !
"Like opening the door to see what's behind it" - couldn't have put it better.
Remember the original production of this song was before multi track mixing was developed. All the clocks were done in real time, synchronized for the recording.
Welcome to the amazing world of the Pink Floyd, Your ears will thank you
The meaning of this song changes as you get older.
I’ll say, not enough of it 🤷🏼♂️
This is one of the greatest albums of all time, in 20 years you will love it more, 20 more years you'll completely understand. Great reaction.
in fucking deed
Your love of music just shines through. A mature, intelligent and emotional response to great music :)
Thank you Ely!
"The Great Gig in the Sky" will blow your minds
That Gilmour solo touches your soul.
This song shows how small we are and how fleeting our lives our in time and space. Pink Floyd released, "Dark Side of the Moon", in 1975. It is one of their concept albums. It is best to listen from beginning to end to grasp its full meaning. You WANT to listen to it with HEADPHONES. Trust ME on this.
Fun Fact Time: Since its release, "Dark Side of the Moon", has been on the Billboard Top 100 Selling Albums for over 25 years. Think about that... each year out of all the new albums released plus older albums, this album still is in the top 100 selling albums for over a quarter century. Hail, hail to Pink Floyd and their brilliance. ✌❤🌹
@BeastrealDT
Great comment! One small correction though, Dark Side Of the Moon was released in 1973, Wish You Were Here was released in 1975. 🙂
This album still holds the record for weeks on billboard top 200. Which is 950 weeks.
I always cry at the ending of this song!! You really need to react more to Pink Floyd! Echoes, saucerful of secrets, welcome to the machine, high hopes!!!
I was 11 when this album came out, bought it then still have it!!
Yall should react to pink floyd echos part 1 and 2 live at Pompeii
Adding to what everyone here told :
- Shut off the lights
- Lay down on the bed
- Put your headphones on
- Close your eyes
- And listen to the whole album in one time. Start to end.
No talk, No interruption, Nothing other than the music.
This is the way.
The best advice one can give! The album is meant to be heard as one continuous piece and is a masterpiece for all-time that, despite it’s theme, will never, ever grow old.
You guys are a joy to watch your reactions. This is so cool to see your opinions as young kids. Pink Floyd always tells a story-follow the album and you will see tis song is about time passing and the aging process and regrets. Totally relatable as I am 56 now lol. This album was ion top 100 for several years and you can see why
It is so great to see more young people getting touched and connected by bands like Pink Floyd, my father introduced me to them when I was 9 and they have been with me since then and supported me through very hard times and to me that's the beauty of music, it helps you and it's always there for you.
I'm gonna guess you have dwelved into Floyd a bit but I would like to suggest you to react to On The Turning Away but the live version from The Delicate Sound Of Thunder, one of the most beautiful Floyd songs and that live version is just magical.
Thank you for your reactions and keep discovering good music and sharing the journey!
It becomes more relevant the older you get, trust me!
Listening to "Echoes" would be a different, but similarly beautiful journey. But there are so many great PF songs!
"It literally sounded like somebody was screaming for help..."
damn
Buckle up your seat belts ladies this song is really good AND the album is great..... No bad songs on it - NONE!! I think this is the best rock & roll album ever. AS usual you two ladies have made me laugh out loud. You two are great. I so enjoy your sense of wonder and willingness to explore music from the past. David did not do the flash thing when he played his guitar. Just low-key, purposeful picking... I am impressed with you two. You both really listened. Bravo ladies.... Now go and locate, listen, and fall in love with the song -"the Great Gig in the Sky'.. The female soloist will blow your mind..., starting a tad past 1:16. Just listen.... PLUS David plays a lap steel guitar... Great job ladies.... On a side note - I was 18 when this masterpiece was released.. Yes girls, I'm old...
This is truly one of the best of all time.
No pun intended.
The whole album is equally amazing, and it fits together in a way that makes each song better when you listen to the whole thing at once.
There is a lot more where this one came from...the past.
I envy you for what awaits you when you hear more music for the first time.
There is a huge library of amazing music from the 1960's, 1970s and 1980s.
I am sure this period in history will forever be known as some sort of magical golden age of music.
The amount of music across so many genres that was released in those decades is unmatched in history, and may be something that never happens again.
But all of it is preserved forever, so very fortunately, by the technology that was used to make it and store it and bring it forward to the present.
The internet has made things possible no one could have imagined even a decade or two ago.
Enjoy your journey of exploration of these treasures from our shared past.
One song describing the travel from being young to being old. Great reaction👍
Thank you venomdust1
Good flash backs about school so poignant coming from you Mia without realising it you opened the windows of your mind
So natural 🏴🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸❤️👍
Thank you Toni!
As you ladies get older the lyrics to this song will be more relevant than you can possibly imagine. "And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking. Racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older. Shorter of breath and one day closer to death."
My favorite Pink Floyd song and my favorite lyrics of any song ever written.
I used to rank Time as my favorite song in terms of lyrics, but the more I got older the more I enjoy Dogs, from the album Animals
This album really needs to be listened to as a whole as all the songs bleed into each other.
I love that they're into this...first time listening to Pink Floyd...like I was...priceless! Enjoy it kids!
I have listened to this song hundreds of times over 30 years and I have never heard anyone describe that guitar solo better. It's like someone is crying for help! Exactly, exactly! Great job ladies.
Thank you xsmcg!
I listen to this album often. Sometimes I’ll take a break for a couple of months, discovering many other artists, but I always come back to it and it still feels as fresh as the first time I heard it. Sadly, my dad died a few weeks ago - we used to listen to it together. Great memories - he loved Pink Floyd and I thank him for the gift of introducing me. Keep enjoying discovering new (to you) music!
I first heard the album when I was 14, it was still recent at the time. Now i'm 61 and really appreciate the lyrics. I loved it when I was 14, I love it now but appreciate the lyrics a bit more.
THis song is 47 years old and timeless. I was 12 at the time first listening.
This song will still be relevant in 3000 and young generations will still be discovering it. The Shakespeare of music
I love playing that guitar solo! 👏🏻❤🎸🎶🎵🎼 Great album also👍👍👍
My favourite song since I first heard it 35 years ago & it always will be.
The lyrics alone are on a whole other level with Pink Floyd. First time I ever heard them was when my 6th grade English teacher made us listen to and break down this song and I've loved the band ever since. Thanks for the great reactions!
Being French speaking, (from Quebec), my second language course was English. As end of term assignment, we had to discuss in front of the class, an article from an English newspaper.
My friend and I chose the lyrics for the song TIME. Needless to say, the lyrics of this song sparked some heated discussion in the classroom. Especially the lyrics: (No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun).
Very interesting English assignment! Wow!
Thank you it's great to see you having so much fun and discovering new things
This song is timeless. 💁🏻♀️
The entire album is a masterpiece: it makes you float on an ocean of different and also contradictory feelings. Like life itself.
Very deep meaningful lyrics. It's a song that should travel with you through as you grow older. Listen to it (and indeed the album) throughout your life, the meaning becoming more relevant as you go through different stages of life.
Many a time I have come back when I was in the Army, put my headphones on, lay in the dark, closed my eyes, and just let the music take me Wherever.
What you young ladies need to understand is that Pink Floyd Albums are to be listened to, from the first song to that last song, in one sitting. Their albums are the benchmark for concept albums, were conceived to listen to, in their entirety, in one sitting, and should be respected as such. You will find the music even more powerful and the message more completely realized. Floyd albums that should be listened to in their entirety - Animals - Wish You Here - Dark Side of The Moon - The Wall ( yeah! that's a long one) - Meddle - A Momentary Lapse of Reason - Piper At The Gates Dawn (their first album and very different - wiki "Syd Barrett")
Great Gig in the Sky (Live Pulse) is just an incredible piece of...art.
Wow. Thank you so much for doing this.
The whole album is a story of Life, from heartbeat to heartbeat and should be heard in its entirety. It really changed my life, listening to it when i was 13 years old. Do your self a favour and listen to it from beginning to the end. I would LOVE to see your reaction to brain damage/eclipse. Lots of Love ❤️🙏🦋
Same, the first time i heard this album i was 15yrs old and didnt really relate to the lyrics of Time but now im nearly 50 and so very relevant
A good metaphor for life. My mother is in her 80s now and she says she has to note down appointments carefully in her calendar otherwise a day goes by and she doesn't notice. She has missed appointments because the week goes by so quickly, she might think it's Tuesday when it's actually Wednesday already. How many of us look back on life and wonder what we could have done differently or better, to avoid misunderstandings or to help people or fix things; where did the time go. But we don't see that as we live day to day, only after the fact when it's too late. Great song.
an absolute masterpiece
Yep, Great Gig in the Sky is really part 2 of this song; or a restatement of it with no words - but best vocals ever, perhaps.
You have to listen to the entire album together to get the full experience.
Dark side was the first vinyl I bought when it came out in the 70s, my father got me interested in good music from the day I was born. So much music so many gigs n festivals as I grew up! I have passed on that passion to my children and Darkside is still played regularly in our house and is as fresh today as it was when I first listened. I was lucky music as a child was played loud without earphones and the notes could go thru you! More young people need to listen to the masterful magic Floyd created!
This song weighs heavily on my mind as I get older.
I'm glad you guys have found this song now. 😂
You should listen to the whole album as all songs flow into each other.
Girls, it is time for Echoes - all 20+ minutes of it.
Then i would recommend the live version from “Remember that night” with David Gilmour and Ritchard Wright. It is AMAZING.
This is why this album has spent over 950 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. It is the greatest album ever made.
Also David ZGilmour is my favorite guitarist. the mire u guys hear him see how he makes you feel emotionally . He is not the fastest or fanciest but he can bring you to tears of Joy, tears of agony ; delight and terrify you and that is what makes a musician great!
Speed and solos get the hype but Gilmour gets my mind and my heart!
Wow love your reaction and heed these words children !
This song is great but it takes on a whole different urgency when you are 54 and not 14 .
“SHORTER OF BREATH
ONE DAY CLISER TO DEATH”
is terrifying at my age hahaha
Just remember don’t “MISS THE STARTING GUN”
And with your own business here I’m confident and proud of how successful u 2 will be
Peace ☮️
Listen to the whole album, start to finish, without stopping. Listen to it on a cool night, windows open, lights off candles lit, and enjoy!
David Gilmour and Pink Floyd is a band that will still be listened to a hundred years from now.
Listen to the 23 min version of Echoes. Its gets crazy in the middle but the journey takes you there and back.
"It's like a door you're opening, to see what's behind it." This is one of the best descriptions I have ever heard.
You are both wonderful. 🙂
Wow, thank you!
Pink Floyds albums like "Dark Side of the Moon", "Wish You Were Here" and "The Wall" are concept albums, that each should be experienced from start to end in one listening.
Dark Side of the Moon are reflecting on the aspects of modern life (like the chrystal breaking the light into its different colors)
Wish You Were Here tells about the band missing their former lead singer Syd Barrett.
The Wall follows the character Pink (a fictional rock star) from birth and tells the story about how he slowly shuts himself from the outside world
If Pink Floyd really intrigues you, you should not deny yourself the experience of listening to these cerebral poets albums as a whole.
