Man I remember those dog days. 23 years of patience, hard work, blood, sweat, and tears all payed off. A project that was becoming a joke of "when will she be finished" "are you guys done yet" "it's a waste". You guys really proved everyone wrong and pulled it off, a project that could've been shut down, a locomotive that has a completely rusted boiler. It's absolutely amazing how far you guys have come with this restoration project, and truly is an honor as an ABQ citizen to see a giant Iron Horse of our own live in person. Whether she runs only 1000 at the site under her own power, or only 4 blocks to Tractor Brewing I am always proud to see this old girl run on her own steam and power. A magnificent job you guys have pulled off.

I’m sure you’ve all heard it already, and I’m sure you will all hear it again, but this is incredible! I and many others applaud the wider team for managing to restore a locomotive of this caliber.

After all the efforts, it's worth it to see another Santa Fe Baldwin built 4-8-4 fired up and ready for excursions.

After seeing the train in person this past January I am amazed at what you all have done and am using it as inspiration for what I want to do one day with steam trains. In the short term you have inspired me to work harder on the Rio Grande Plan here in Salt Lake City. If you dont know about it its a plan to bring trains back to our historic 113 year old train depot. Check it out if you have time.

LIVING IN KANSAS , IT WAS DIFFICULT TO BE THERE OCCASIONALLY TO WORK AND ASSIST!
DELIVERING TRUCKS BROUGHT ME THROUGH OCCASIONALLY ON AN WEDNESDAY OR SATURDAY WORK DAY!
I DID GET THERE ONE DAY AFTER THE FIRST HOT TEST OF THE BOILER, AND IT WAS STILL WARM!
I WAS ABLE TO KICK AN FEW 26-L BRAKE CONVERSION PARTS AND A FLYING WING HEADLIGHT INTO THE PARTS BIN , HOWEVER!
SANTA FE FOREVER,KEEP THEM ROLLING BROTHERS!!
