I've just purchased a Pocket 3 and was horrified how old and decrepit I looked because of the camera's absolutely astonishing sharpness. I think that I'm going to have to purchase a veritable gaggle of Black Mist filters and stack them on top of each other. Thank you for making this video, I thought your approach was truly refreshing. 🤩
Turn the sharpening to -2 in camera
I just pulled mine out of the box yesterday, and I'm going to film with it this weekend, but you're absolutely correct.... zero excuses because the footage is good enough and it's so damn easy to use. For me, the ability to film myself just increased a TON
It's the editing I'm worried about! Lol when I get the camera I will have the tool to record, but then I need the tool to edit! ;)
Thank you so much for showing indoor and backstage footage with the Osmo Pocket! I shoot for an ad agency that primarily works with broadway shows so I'm backstage and in dark places constantly. It's great to see how this camera looks in my world of filming because we all know that any camera will look good filming mountains scapes on a sunny day, but some of us don't film like that. I'm so glad that cameras keep getting smaller, but my back's ready for me not to have to lug around my a7 and gimbal everywhere.
Thinking exactly the same thing. Just having a gimbal at any time is a huge win.

So I bought a Panasonic s5iix to document my trip to Cyprus and Greece last July. Including lens etc. Was a big pain. Now I got a pocket 3 and have to agree is a great piece of kit and wish I had it last year.

I just bout my pocket 2 weeks ago and let me tell you, it is now my new best friend!! To go from horizontal to vertical instantly is a game changer for me especially while out vlogging.

Would this osmosis pocket 3 work while vlogging at Disney every time I go? I’d want to buy this camera bc it seems so much more comfortable vlogging with this than a big bulky camera
Very true! For the outside shots did you use ND's to keep the 180 degree rule or did you just let the shutter speed up for ease of use on Auto?
ND to get close to 180 degree shutter as possible

If the next Osmo Pocket had enough space to allow the nd filter to stay on when turned off, I would pre-order in a heartbeat.
Just auto iso. And the nd filters can stay on the case with no problem. ON the Osmo

Every single time I shoot with a client, I always give them a complementary video with the osmo pocket 3… and it always leaves an impression on them. I have no complaints! Glad I got it!
I've figured out for wedding videography how to mount this to my main camera, I've ditched so much gear cause I now get HLG on both my Panasonic S1 and the Pocket 3, use Cinematch to match them together and grade in Resolve. If I need more stability with my S1 I use the Gyro from the P3 in Gyrowflow

I’ve been feeling like I don’t create as much as I used to when I was only using my phone ever since getting the Canon R6. I’ve used the Canon V10 for a lil thinking it could be a good small alternative to get more content but you make a convincing argument for the pocket 3!

The video looks great in low light at the event! I love mine! Might not know how to do all the color grading (yet) so it stays in auto, but I do love it! I get fewer stares when I'm walking around recording. If ppl stop me, it's usually more so to ask about the DJI.
I love that camera, I have the two previous osmos, can't remember on the original pocket but on the osmo2 you can zoom in to 2x time whatever the focal lent of the camera is

I film weddings professionally. Combined with my big Canon cameras, the DJI Pocket 3 is so useful and unobtrusive. It gets angles that would be impossible and I don’t need to pay for a second person on the shoot.

I don't have an Osmo 3, but I do have a Sony ZV-1 and a smallish gimbal. It would have worked great in this situation but the difference in convenience is stark. I would have to balance / rebalance the gimbal all the time to get these results. It''s also obviously much larger when you consider the gimbal. It does have a zoom lens though 😊

I think it can be used for professional uses depending on what you need to be filmed. The only bad thing about the pocket 3 is not being able to get any depth of field. But imagine what it will be in 2-3 years.

Honestly if DJI released a non-pocket version with the same 1in sensor but gave us 20-80mm F2 constant aperture, I'd buy 3 and sell my Panasonic bodies and lenses

Enjoyed the video. I'm still contemplating on getting a pocket 3, but it looks like I might need to, especially for the times I film myself. Hopefully, the active track is much better than it was on the pocket 2 so incan just put the pocket 3 on a tripod and let it do its thing.
Ps: isn't it interesting when people complain about the way you do a video when they have no hand in creating it let alone complaining about watching something they don't have to watch? It's as if they don't understand how the back button works after they start watching.

Terry, in the description of the cameras used for this video, you have a Sony ZV-E1 and the Pocket 3 listed. The footage of you walking along the path in the morning looks fantastic, very 'cinematic'! Is that from the Pocket 3, or the Sony? The footage in Las Vegas is really nice and sharp, but I also really like the footage from the trail where you're describing everything. Also, in that (trail) footage are you using -1 for sharpness? Thank you!
All of the trail was Osmo pocket. -1 sharpness -1 noise reduction

A ruggedized/waterproof Pocket Pro with two focal lengths would be absolutely on fire. I feel the same way about the iphone with prores log now.....it's making it so much easier to just try some shots without carrying a ton of gear.
I went ahead and pulled the trigger on getting the Osmo 3 because of this video 😂 DJI should cut you a check! But traveling without one of your main cameras is wild 😂

Just got back today from Chennai India and Germany. Vlogged the whole trip with the Pocket 3 and the IPhone 15 Pro Max as its backup. It’s incredible what this camera can do. I did shoot some products with my Canon R5 however just because of familiarity.
I wish 2x zoom wasn’t the max, then it would literally be perfect, even for simple vlogging
