I've been hard on Adidas over the years. Not because I dislike the brand, but because I know they're capable of so much more. While the X "speed" line has been pretty solid for a while now, I think it's safe to say that it has been 2nd best to the Nike Mercurial in the eyes of most consumers. That changes now.
In today's video we take a closer look at the new Adidas X Ghosted.1, a "speed" boot that introduces a ton of new and exciting tech to rival that of the Nike Mercurial Vapor 13 and Superfly 7! How is similar, how is it different, and perhaps most importantly, how is it better? I go over everything that you need to know. Is the X Ghosted.1 the best "speed" boot of 2020?

FYI: I went down from my normal 42 to a 41 1/3. This minimized the little bit of extra space I had in a 42 (namely the front of the toe box) and reduced much of the creasing and any collar flair. Fits like a glove really.
Also, only the FG and SG have carbon fiber in the sole plate - the AG doesn’t. The AG are still wicked nice but lack the sensation of leaning or pushing you onto your toes. Some might actually prefer this, so I’d recommend trying both versions on.
And, the gold tips on the SG studs are so class. The SG are the real eye catchers.

Thanks Josh. I'm an Aussie mum with an accomplished AFL playing son and looking for a speed boot. I love learning about the tech in boots. Bought mercurials after one of your reviews and OMG his game exploded in the best way. Loving the second skin aspect of these boots but how would they go protecting the foot when stomped on? Is speed and protection possible in one boot?
no, you have to take the risk but its worth it

Too be honest, I’d like to see reviewers spending a bit more time in the boots before giving their final say. Many running shoe reviewers take a shoe at least 50 miles before giving their final verdict.
I’m a bit hung up on this at the moment since I bought a pair of Neo lll Betas off the universal excellent reviews, but anyone who’s spend a decent amount of time in them will know that the material in the heels is crazy stiff and time and again causes chunks of skin to be ripped off. 😓

Currently playing in these boots. They are amazing but are very tight and after 2 weeks are still needing more time to break in. But i have had no blister issues which I always get with Nike mercurials. Amazing boots but expect it to be tight and take a bit of time to break in, at least for me anyway.

Josh, will you go TTS or half up in this particular model, I recently bought the X 19.1 TF and I feel them very tight, still have to break em in tho haven't played them yet because of the COVID-19 status in my country.

@@leandro_riveri1602 If you have wide feets go for Copa 20+ and not predator 20.1 because predator is narrow and would hurt your feet. I personally prefer the Predator 20.1 they look fantastic.

Would you say the chevron style studs and the carbon fibre would only be suitable for FG and not for use on AG? Only cause I noticed the AG does not feature the carbon fibre.
I wouldn't recommend this stud pattern for use on artificial grass.

Hey Josh! I was wondering if these boots gave you any blisters around the heel area? I have the X 19.1’s and they fit great, feel great, but during training or games there’s something off about the heel area that would give me blisters (maybe just the shape of my foot idk).

Josh, i think it would be a little better to use white socks when showing the on feet look, cos most of us players use white socks and really want to see how they look on feet. Other than that, quality video!

The FG stud pattern is far from ideal for use on artificial grass in my opinion.
