I hadn't planned on filming or hunting for knives, but during a pleasant road trip with my wife and friends, we discovered this charming little store tucked away in downtown Senoia. Curiosity got the better of me, and I couldn't resist asking the friendly clerk if they had any knives in stock.
To my delight, she directed me to a glass cabinet displaying a dazzling array of vintage knives. Though they were a bit pricey, my determination to find a great deal kept me searching. And guess what? Luck was on my side that day!
Amidst the assortment, I stumbled upon a magnificent Vintage Camping Knife that instantly caught my eye. After some thorough examination, I suspected it was crafted during the World War 2 ERA due to the absence of brass liners and pins. The tang stamp, bearing the inscription "Made In USA," further confirmed my hypothesis.
Intrigued to learn more about the knife's origins, I delved into extensive research and discovered that it was likely manufactured by Camillus for Sears. Uncovering this hidden treasure was truly exhilarating, making it a Great Day indeed!

That first stores prices were deadly! I just about would’ve dropped dead if that were me!
LOL!
The Knife Doctor has completed yet another pocket knife rescue. From what some would consider to be a junk knife, to a clean and function camp knife. I really appreciate the work that you’re doing to save these old knives. Have a great weekend! - Tennessee Smoky
Thank you for sharing this!! God Bless!
Buying a sheath then looking for knife reminds me of buying a old scope and then looking for a 600 rifle for the scope!
When you first showed that knife, I thought, "No way is that worth $25 dollars." By the end, I realized how wrong I was. You got a great eye for a fixer upper knife. Looks great. I carry an old camillus electrician's knife that I love. It looks a little similar to this.
Excellent! I agree with Camillus being the manufacturer. Colonial was a a major WW2 knife maker but I’ve never see them maker something like this with bone handle during the war.
The sheath I believe is for a fillet knife nice find God bless you always my friend
That is a great find and well done on the clean up stay sharp Kevin
Nice find, nice clean up.
Great knife to keep.
Definitely Looks like An early Camillus blade.
Man I just love the thrill of the hunt in a new place. Very well done and thank you my friend for letting me live my dream through you
Me too!! It was really Unexpected!! Thanks for watching!!
A really nice find. It should clean up nicely.
Super job of cleaning it up
Thank you!
Good looking knife good job on restoring and cleaning
Thank you!!
Great deal on that camp knife considering the prices on other knives. Cleaned up nicely. Senoia was a beautiful, quiet little country town when I was a kid in the 80s.... we raced over there often. Crazy how much Senoia has grown and that area is just completely over run with subdivisions today. SF brother and keep up the great videos.
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing this! Semper-FI!!
Wow that is a great find! Good job on the clean up and repair.
Thank you!!
Wow….That little beauty really cleaned up nice🙂Good job and a great find👍🏻
You always do a super job. Keep on --keep on
Thank you!!
That’s a nice find!
Thank you!!
Because of you I went to harbor freight and bought the 3” bench grinder. Mine has a Dremel style flexible shaft and came with a stone grinder. They aren’t that powerful but it’s fine for what I need it for and was $49 and I had a coupon for 15% off.
That’s awesome man!!
Wow ! I would of grabbed it up too. Sweet ol' knife.
Semper Fi, brother 😊
Thank you! Semper-FI!!
That camp knife deserves some pocket time.
That knife and the sheath look like some really vintage pieces
😊 Super Cool Camillus find brother. The sheath is nice too. The $25 price tag was a killer deal. As you know Kevin. ❤ Keep God first and he'll lead you forward to great things! 👍🏻 👏 🙌
Thank you!!
Nice score
Well,,, I'm hooked,,, bought my first two , a Richards,, Sheffield England,,, ( looks a lot like the one you just restored) and another single blade,, made in Germany,, no brand name.

Good find and good restore, that knife is old can tell by can opener style and color of bone . As for Imperial I’ve seen some very old ones with great bone and good quality. Some of these shops sell stuff for a lot of different vendors and vendor can set price but you got a deal on that one .
Hi Kevin, nice relaxing video and amazing job on cleaning the knife🙂👍👌🔪

You the man
Love your videos pal! Keep em coming
Thank you!!
Growing up I had quite a few pocket knives. So much so that I never saw the true value in them. I just saw them as "Use and toss after some time" tools. Now that I've grown up, I think back on all the old and cool knives I let go when I was a kid. I'm an avid collector and treat every knife I carry with respect. Keep doing what you do. Semper Fi.
Very nice work!
Awesome!!
The vintage Buck model 319 Rancher was made for Buck by Camillus and also had a spiral punch . Those were really a great pocket knife
Awesome! Thanks for sharing this!
I would say your right on it being a camillus that was my first thought too camillus did make novelty knives with just made in USA on the main blade
They cleaned up well.
Thank you!!
@@theknifedoctor you’re welcome
Nice camp knife, good job on refitting a bail. you might want to get a small swiss file set to file the pins to fit the bail, the files are small and easy to use on small parts.
Thanks for sharing this!!
I laughed out loud at the 18 joke😅
Beautiful bone handle
I love your videos keep up the great work and thank you for your service to our great country
Thank you!! God Bless!
a great restorer 2:0
Great Video !! You 're lucky there are good places to find used knives in your area, not too good here in eastern Ky. Our pawn shops in Louisa are SKY high.
"Anteek" malls/shops often help my many collections. Good work.
Oh yeah. 😊
Very nice camp knife came out really nice love it beautifull bone
American made knife with crack free bone handles. Nice pick up
You were a couple miles from my house.... Ha, I've never thought of going downtown and looking. I hate that you were here and we couldn't meet up.
The copper handled knife that was beautiful
You done a great job over hauling that knife
Thank you!!
Knife Dr. I am in Peachtree City. I would enjoy a knife hunt with you. Knife crazy here.
I wish u could clean my pm2, you are a pro 😂
I'll give you your money back on that camp knife (hahahaha). Seriously, that is a heckuva find and in great shape for a WWII era knife.
Thank you!!
I'm sure that you already know this but, it seems that saddle soap to clean, and then mink oil to condition that sheath would have been better for the leather. That knife was a real bargain!
That opens up enough where you can get your Dremal wheel down inside the interior of the knife and clean that crude out better
Awesome find!
Been there done that.
I was looking hard at that Bowie knife on the bottom in the center
Man over 6k subs your doing something right .
Thank you!!
You seem to always find some good stuff buddy!
You need to do a video course on your hustle! I’ll subscribe!😁
LOL! I’ve been doing it for awhile! Thanks for watching!
Would you ever blast the inside of a folding knife with carb cleaner or other high pressure solvent cleaners to drive out grit? This Camillus sounds gritty. Thanks Doc
Ouch! There's no way I'm cleaning my knives like that. I got a few pal and boyscout bone handle like this
Like what??
joy FM…. Great radio station!! Please show knives a little longer with price. Thank you! Semper Fi to you and your Son from Tampa FL…MSgt. USMC retired!!
Semper-Fi!! Thank you!!
I’m pretty sure it’s Camillus made. Sweet find for 25
Thank you!!
Those little silver knives with a file at the front of the glass case are us made I got a couple but never knew the name of them and that sheath may fit the deer slayer possibility
Thank you! It’s not a Deer Slayer Sheath. I have a few of those.
I can't believe they wanted $25 for that cheap freebie advertising Victorinox classic knockoff.
That one looks ideantical to one my grandparents church was giving out for free.
At one time I had a handful of those terrible $1 things, from various local businesses that had booths at the annual farm show.
The blades are practically made of soup cans.
Saddle soap is good for cleaning leather then use a proper leather treatment on it they make them available at saddle shops
Saddle soap to wash the leather sir.. mink oil for your oil. I know you would like it. Give it a try if you like your stuff clean.
New to your channel, fun to watch! I was wondering if you have tried using an ultrasonic cleaner? Cheers
Thanks and Welcome Aboard!! I have not used one before.
Is a WWII issue utility knife, made millions of them during the war. Many will just be marked USA
In my experience most can be sold for $25-30 if in excellent condition.
Hate to see an old knife like this over cleaned
Do you think case knives quality is good? I wanted to get a copper lock but hear they aren't worth it anymore. Love these kind of knives and ur videos are awesome
Thank you! Look on eBay for the older CASE Knives. I hear the quality is slipping. I usually don’t buy the new ones. Always look for the older ones.
How often do you sell the knives that you repair? I think you have a couple that I'm looking for
I don’t sell the knives.
Tell me about that Never Dull paste.
It’s awesome!!
You need you a small center punch to renurl those pins
The ball ping does the job. Thanks for watching!
Overpriced the old timer. Camp knife with bone handle 25 bucks works for me.😊
One of my biggest pet peeves at these antique places is how they put the price tag on their products. I found a collectible for my son, it was three hundred dollars, they put the price tag right on the viewing window of the box,. Totally ruined it’s value. I knew from experience shopping there that the adhesive on their tags would ruin it.
Thanks for sharing this!!
@@theknifedoctor Just subscribed! Can’t wait to watch your videos. Keep up the great work!👍🇨🇦
What is that stuff you are spraying into the knife?
Remington Gun Oil.
I can never seem to find replacement fiber wheels for that size grinder…
Harbor Freight.
what do you think of the NRA giving away Knifes that r made in C H I N A .JUST asking n thanks for all the vids
They’re Junk. THE NRA is a leech of a corporation. Once you join, they keep begging and hounding for more money. Better organizations out there to protect gun rights. Thanks for watching!

My grandfather left me an Old Timer (Schrade Waidr? NYO? CA, 340T) I have some pics of the knife & would like to share with you. Do you have an email? Billy G. Pagosa Springs, CO

Sir, can I pay you to fix a knife for me?
I don’t work in other peoples knives. I’m sorry. I just don’t want the responsibility of mailing them back and repairs don’t always go as planned. I hope you understand and thanks for understanding!
I understand and thank you for responding. Love your videos.
Nice finds and beautiful restoration. What wire brush are you using on your dremmel ?
I don’t know. It just come with the Dremel. I also pick some up from Harbor Freight.
