Most magnificent Phantom ever. His acting is captivating, poetic, and graceful, and his voice... intoxicating! This role was made for Franc! He IS The Phantom. I've watched him perform this since I was 13 and I never get enough!
I auditioned to sing in one of Franc's concerts. I bombed the audtions, but I ran into him at a bar afterward. They let me hang out with them and Franc paid for everyone's meal. He is such a nice guy to hang out with! In addition to being a great Phantom.
I just found my phantom mask signed by Franc back from 1996 when he was performing at the Curran. So cool to see this perfomance... Thanks for sharing!
Saw Mr. D' Ambrosio perform Phantom several times when Phantom was playing at the Curran Theater in San Francisco. Quite possibly the best phantom interpretation next to Michael Crawford. Genuinely nice individual, too. Thanks for sharing these videos.
Franc D' Ambrosio is an outstanding singer/actor! I've seen him in San Francisco 4-5 times. I've taken my children and they loved it! Phantom of the Opera is one of my favorite shows. I'd see it again if Franc was starring as the Phantom.
I have a funny story behind this. So as many of you may now Franc D'Ambrosio was featured in "The Godfather Part 3" playing Michael's son Anthony. My dad is obsessed and I mean he actually fanboys over all three of those movies and when my dad saw phantom for the first time on a date with my mom they saw Franc perform in San Francisco. Personally I feel that he does an absolutely outstanding job at the the role and does it so much justice. The passion that he shows in his performance through his vocals and acting absolutely gives me the chills. I wish I could have been lucky enough to see him play the role because I think that he is probably one of my favorite phantoms of all time. I am going to be seeing the show in SF for myself the very first time on my sixteenth birthday at the end of August so I am very excited to see how it turns out! :)
Franc for me is very overrated. His singing is missing that deep feel. To me it sounds thin with little support. I strongly recommend to listen to MOTN by Peter Hoffman and Mark Mckerracher
That's what I love about it... just like Michael Crawford. You can really believe it's a ghost. It has a light, apparition like feel to it. The deep Phantoms sound like another opera singer to me. They don't truly inhabit the role.

Saw him 3 times during his run... he WAS and always will be the best Phantom.

Jesus, he's got the coolest Phantom voice I've ever heard in my life. Damn.

Francs pointing at Christine after being unmasked reminds me of Lon Cheney
Dang! He's good!
If someone pushed my face to the side I politely slap their hand luckily she is hypnotised
