Thank you for this lesson. It was very helpful. I needed to know how to get started with designing my own patterns, and this was perfect. I am going to try the software you spoke about and see how I like them. Thank you again.

Thanks for this. I am just about to purchase some software and was struggling to decide between this and another - your tutorial has helped me make up my mind.

This was very helpful, thank you so much for all the information. I am using MacStitch, but finding it not as user friendly as I thought it would be. I learned a lot from watching your very thorough tutorial. :)

Thank you but the picture needed a close up for me to see what you mean about the colors. If it could have been a close up like what you showed in 12:29 I could have seen what you mean but the frames keep changing too fast at this point for me to get a good look.

This was a very helpful tutorial. I have been trying out the demo version of this program and have liked it. However, I have found that it is very slow when working on converting a photo. I think I will try the Pattern Maker software and see if that is better. I will also look into your new class. Thank you for taking the time to make this video for us.

Thank you so much for this video. I'm new to pattern making and this is super helpful. One question. What function did you use to fill in the white of the bear?

Thank you Nancy. I am really happy to hear that you enjoyed the video. It is a feature of Cross stitch pro called Floodfill.

I would like to know if you can use this program to creat designs for needlepoint designs . Zweigart needlepoint canvas is an open interlocking canvas not fabric.

What about a written pattern from a crochet graphgan chart?

Given that Pattern Maker ceased operations in 2019, would you still recommend purchasing it for photo conversions? If yes, why? Their website still allows purchase and states that they will offer updates for "several months", but I'm wary. Also, do you recommend it over DP Software Cross Stitch Pro Platinum Plus? I have a very large project that I am trying to convert from a photo.

Yes, you are right. I was writing about it a few month ago in the comment hereunder. I would not buy PM now as you will not be able to get any help if you will need to. In my opinion Cross Stitch Pro is the best what you can get on market now. I've been using it for more then 10 years and still happy. I have a separate course fully dedicated to converting an image into a cross stitch pattern in Cross Stitch Pro. Feel free to check it out at www.etsy.com/listing/690119088/making-cross-stitch-designs-course

    IMPORTANT UPDATE!
This video was recorded in May 2019. And one of the most recommended software that time was Pattern Maker. Unfortunately, later that year, the developers of this software HobbyWare has announced that they will be ceasing operation on 12/31/2019. That's why the link to their web-page has been removed from the list below.
