The following is taken from wikipedia;
"The box of Big Rigs states that the player may "race trucks across the country, with cops chasing [them]." GameSpot's Alex Navarro wrote that this description of the game is nothing more than "horrible, horrible lies"[1], since there are no police in the game. Additionally, they pointed out, the computer-controlled opponent vehicles have no AI and never move from the starting position, making even the description of the gameplay as a "race" questionable.
There are technically no obstacles for the player to negotiate in Big Rigs, as the truck may freely be driven on and off roads without any loss of traction, up or down 90° slopes with no loss or gain of speed, through structures such as buildings and trees, simply falling right through bridges, and even out of the boundaries of the map into an endless grey void. When the player's vehicle is put into reverse, its speed will increase infinitely, but the truck will halt instantly when the reverse key is released.
Though there appear to be five courses from which to choose, only four of them actually work. A fifth, titled "Nightride", does not function, and selecting it simply quits the game.[1]
Upon completion of the race, the player is presented with digital representation of a large trophy and the text "YOU'RE WINNER !".[sic] The game occasionally fails to distinguish between whether the player is starting or finishing the race when they pass through the starting point, and so this congratulatory screen may appear within seconds of starting a game, ending the race before it even begins.
Stellar Stone released a patch that "fixes" some of the game's glitches. With the patch, the opponent does participate in the race, but stops before it reaches the finish line. The fifth map that caused the game to crash when selected was also fixed. However, the patch replaced the broken track with an exact mirror image of the first track. A good deal of the problems still remain in the patch." - Hry

I am amazed by the quality, its like ocarina of time times halo 3 divided by the square root of bioshock. I would pay a thousand dollars for such a masterpiece!
But wait... only in Version 1 it stands "You're Winner" (in the other versions its been corrected to "you win"), and the other truck didnt move untill v3

I've heard they released a path which was supposed to solve that problem... it didn't.
In race games, I had thought trees and slopes were annoying obstacles, but look at this. This game let's us players recognize the fact obstacles are there to be loved ☆ lol

Apparently the guy who wrote the engine and licensed it to the developers said the released version of the game was pre-alpha. And the player did actually win the race. Without the patch, the computer controlled truck doesn't move from the start. With it, the computer will go around, but stops short of the finish.

oh god the sound from 1:40 to 1:50 is simply horrifying
Somewhat more stable than Skyrim.
Oh, and the AI doesn't even movie in the original game, the patch fixed it, but they forgot to insert code where the AI can win. I believe if you somehow get the AI to win, the game crashes
accelerating in Rear Gear transforms you into a Sanic...

And even better: you get to have opponents racing against you! Fantastic isn't it? And even better: you can go travel the world, since your truck climbs cliffs like it was nothing, so you get to see the beautifully white outside world!
Also, this games features a unique ability: GHOST TRUCKS! And if that's not enough, you can win everytime! Just lose!

@SirSmeargle Actually... a patch enabled the opponent to move all the way to the finish line but stops before it wins. You see it at 1:13 kind inside the player's truck.

When I downloaded the game it was on a review website, it was rated so bad that they didn't even bother respecting any copyright law, and just posted it up publicly in a zip file. Just do some searching it's bound to be somewhere, then again lets all just hope its not :)

actually i read a youtube comment once sayin that big rigs is still in its pre-alpha stage
so its not even at alpha stage yet, im guessing they could either be releasing a finished version later, or the developers must have gone over budget somehow and have released it anyway to see if they could catch a quick buck, k maybe not but either way its not even close to being finished which is kinda obvious by all the bugs and other tomfoolery
