I've played around with the response curves before but I never knew what I was doing, so they've stayed on default! The most difficult thing for X-Plane newbies is holding the center line w/ rudder controls. Can't wait to try this.
    Cheers!

@@AusFlightSimmer do you have any tips you have tried in taming the taildraggers in this sim, as a real pilot I cannot handel the taildraggers without a lot of frustration and crashing. I have also thought this sim was a bit too unforgiving in ground handeling take off & landing yaw problems. I tried the freebie trial & was SO disgusted with the harder is always more realistic sales pitch. I probably will just wait on MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIM 20020.
But I did have high hopes for X-Plane. I even called them about the wicked & toutch ground handeling. They said a new flight model was coming out that was early last year so I did the update in October 2019. Not much of any real change.
So I was wondering if it could be tamed with axis tuning. Thank you for your time.

As a semi retired, I’m picking up things I didn’t have time to do b4. Playing games is one of them😁. A lot has happened since Commodore and Atari.
What I wanted to say is that what you just explained, is pretty important I would say.
If your controls are badly set, than it’s easy to just quit the game and miss out something fun.
    Thanx for sharing.
Also, I’m new to your channel and maybe missed that episode, but would you be interested to make a “keyboard view” from a takeoff/landing?
Guess more than me would like your setup with checklists (if any) and so fort.
    Cheers

Hey man! Thanks for the video. I have needed to use the response curve for trim. I am using the pinky "dial wheel" on the Thrustmaster TWCS throttle control for trim, and it's just WAY too drastic. I still haven't got it perfect...
Which leads me to my next question, have you ever flown before? Are the response curves you made in this video "realistic" or just more to your liking? I'm not hounding you for realism, don't get it wrong! But like, with the trim... I wonder, what is the maximum trim a real pilot is ever likely to need? Can I cut off some of the trim wheel's action to get a smooth curve, or am I forced to find a place on the curve for "maximum" trim input? These are the kinds of things I'm thinking about when adjusting the controls for this sim.
Anyway based on this video, I do think I'm going to make the elevator curve a little less drastic. Thanks a lot!

Great video mate! I just received my Saitek rudder pedals yesterday. One thing you did not touch on is what you have your toe brakes set to. Out of the box and without making any adjustments, the braking is very sudden and jerky. Not natural at all. What do you have yours set to? Any suggestions?
