Forging nails

Handforged nails from 6mm roundbar. The first nail is a common 4 faceted nail, the second type of nail is commonly found in scandinavia in the middle ages. The smaller head conserves iron wich was very costly at the time whilst still having a lot of holding strength.

What size steel bar do you use and what size hole is in your nailer?

the stock is 6mm round bar, the hole in the nail header is 3.5mm square
