- Triple Tonguing. Saucy trombone licks. Modal scales. Gee Willickers, Samuel Hazy sure knows how to write a banger band piece. Here is some of the top moments from my rehearsal, including moments I have not yet shown to anyone!! Hope you enjoy!!
Featuring a Wellesley High School Wind Ensemble sight reading session in 2013.
I'm getting copyright strikes on this video as well, so any super chats would be much appreciated!
Sincerely,
Timo

I will never get over how timo and the bass trombonist have not only the exact same slide movement, but the same body movement as well
what bass trombonist
@@prekk2986 the other dude in frame
@@chesquikcheesemilk the other dudes using a tenor trombone with a trigger lmao just like timo
They do NOT have the same slide movements 😭
@@prekk2986it is a bass trombone it has a larger shank size than a tenor
My school's band is learning this piece atm, it's an amazing piece and you were playing it really well.
Bro same
Love arabesque! Such an amazing song I forgot how amazing it sounded
"Actually it is a piece"-🤓🤓
Arabesque is a banger. Played it in 10th grade, and loved it since.
have been obsessed with this song since 7th grade finally got it this last semester of 8th grade at the speed your going at.
As a beginning band trombonist that's been playing for 7 months, moving the slide that fast would kill me 💀
edit: it's the moving the lips that fast not the slide, my bad
You get used to it pretty quickly
@@justinkutrybala4298 yeah I'm also a beginner and got used to moving it that fast
I've once spilled the entire bottle of Slide oil. The slides never been faster
My 6th grade self also probably would’ve said that, but now my 9th grade self is handling it pretty well
@@supermario6387 moving my tounge that fast and stuff is hell to me 🥲 but I'm going in advanced and jazz band soon so I might get used to it
I got to play Arabesque on bari in my senior year of high school. It’s such a fun piece.
Tim’s face at the end gets me every time 🤣 great music guys! Gotta love the trombone homies
Props to my bass trombone brother ✊. That part is sick. Especially near the end.

I just wanna say,am a huge fan and you have inspire me, you're funny videos and you playing Trombone is amazing.
Bro one of the top bands at my high school is finally playing this and I’m super excited to hear it
This piece is pure fire, I love it. I'd love to see you play it again to see the improvement in your technique etc. since back then -- although I guess it's different playing it on your own rather than with an ensemble.
This is one of my favorite pieces ever!!! Never got to play it when I was in band but I just adore the sound.
This is amazing! As a 2nd Trombone, I wanna play that myself! That is so cool!
This has got to be one of the best pieces I've ever heard
Obsessed with this video rn 🙏🙏
Oh this was so much fun to play on tuba. Me and my buddy blasted this lol.
Can't wait to play this when I'm in high school / collage!
Very clean!!!
I’ll be honest, I know nothing about band, my fiancé was the band kid 😂 but your videos popped up in my recommended and I’ve been watching them as they come up, always fun and interesting so thank you ✌️
My schools wind ensemble learned this last year and the trombones were obsessed :)
Great vibes
Ahh, it feels like yesterday I was playing that bass bone part, god that was fun.
This sounds like a fun piece
😂 I love us band nerds coming together. He was definitely trying to join the trumpet squad (main characters). Slow down! It’s high school though so definitely great tone. 😁
From a fellow trombone this was amazing
I remember playing bass bone on this last year. Damn did that go hard.
damnnn that transition to bass part in 35 is so clean
Didn’t even realize you were on second, now I get a free recording to play along with
0:47 was crazy brooo
That was nuts I’ll never be able to play that holy hood job bro
Wow... Just wow
I remember getting so upset when our high school band first got this piece, now im really glad we got it, definitely one of the more fun challenges learning this one :)
Trumpets represent!! 😅
I'm a tenor sax player, and I love how you can hear a tenor sax playing as we have the same part in all of these clips except for the 3rd time playing through the saucy lick and that one 6/4 measure is utter trash and can go in the corner where it belongs. I commented this on a different video, but my HS "played" this piece via Smartmusic when everyone was controlled by the dominant force that was COVID-19. Something that always confused me when seeing the score is I think the tenor sax was the only instrument that went UP at the end of the four-measure lick idea (listen carefully to the recording and you can hear the guy playing a slightly different part) - it's not a range thing (there was a different song with an optional low A that is physically impossible to play but that's a story for another day) so I wonder why it is written like that. Thanks for reading my essay, have a great day fellow CZcams watcher
Horns go up too
As an all-state player who just performed this yesterday, I can confirm that my phone is spying on me.
The score for it just got recommended to me twice and now you’re playing it?!
I wish my school could learn this. Maybe some day, we’re going to play Variations on a Korean Folk Song next year
We played this for our wind ensemble concert.
Im in my middle schools varsity band and we almost played this last year but we didnt have enough time before the spring concert 😥
We're playing the same piece too here in Croatia
sight reading is crazy
One of my friends are requesting this song and I don’t think I’m ready for it. Especially as my 2nd year doing band as a trombone player
That bass trombone in the back 😫
We did ride on our last concert. Hazo has some cool low brass parts
❤
Miss you and Brian :)
This Fr wanna make me throw it back 💀
Ive never played that but i really really want to lol
How in the everlasting fuck do you have such a magnificent air compacity? I get to the constant notes, and I have a miniature heart attack and a schizophrenic meltdown and then go back again
Might try to incorporate this into my jazz solo a bit, all the notes fall into the right key for the piece sooooo
Yo first comment! Love your vids
sam hazo? he conducted one of my bands at marywood for a bit, he's awesome, i got to shake his hand and i havent washed it since
Im a freshman and the lick on the bass trombone part is deadly
bro played all the songs and got the golden mouthpeice skin
I can confirm that my chops and tonging were dead after this
2nd to last time was just too clean
Brooo, our band director gave us Arabesque to learn in a week, and if we didn't play it good by the end of the week, he'd put a low score in our grades. Luckily, we all got 100s lol
Why did this come up after my concert was yesterday
Clap
You should've reviewed the 3rd and 1st trombones on Arabesque.
Can you get a clip of the entire band playing this
My school is learning this song rn, I love it but I'm stuck with the 2nd worst percussion part, so I don't love playing it
I play the bass trombone and I want to ask my band director if we could play Arabesque for concert assessment
As a 6th grade tromboneist, I've played some hard parts in my past, but I've never seen anything this hard.
I’m 8th and feel the same way
i was supposed to play this for 8th grade this year but is on back order :(
Trombonist's perspective? Last time I played a trombone, I wasn't look at myself...
hey i played this as 2nd trombone lmao
Can you do a video on how to correct your parcials? (idk how to spell it)
First time heading I thought this was some insane over the top impossible to play lick and in reality it’s pretty moderate and most could play with practice
Oh, you play 2nd Trombone? Also, I was expecting it to be Debussy's Arabesque. Nice playing though.
Do Barnum and Baileys Favorite but faster and louder each time
What piece is this it sounds great
Arabesque by Samuel R Hazo
0:47 the repeating melody in the trombone I really like. Do you happen to know what music piece it is and who arranged or wrote the music?
Look at the title
@@sven7529 it doesn’t say who arrange it so I could easy look up the wrong one
Arabesque by Samuel R. Hazo
I like the one from 50 sec 00:50
I have trombone
What about the 1st trombone perspective
Question, do you think eighth grade all state honor band would play this? I made it, maybe we will play this.
Are you using chops or tongueing for the lick? I want to learn this but don't know what to decide. I am a beginner trombonist and want to learn more.
I wanna play this piece so badly, but in the top band no body is good enough yet.
Where is the trumpet part that should be at 1:09
how do you tongue that
I challenge thee. Play this, but with the GoPro on the slide.
Quick Question: Are you in Collaged or in a Uninvested? If so, with one do you go to?
What trombone is trombone tino playing?
This Is like a middle school piece to my school
bro why you rushin', i could feel you wanting to take off with your own tempo that whole time
shhhhh appreciate
Ye
My high school self apologizes
I dont think it's that bad but ok
Ok the actual riff part wasn’t pushing. Maybe the beginning
Do trombones chops really run out this quick??
Is that a bass trombone? Or just regular
Sorry but as a flute I've always wanted to play the trombones part 💀
Why do you play your high D's in fourth?
Bassoon part is the same don’t feel special 😤😭
All jokes aside your playing is amazing. Had to give up bassoon to be in the military as an officer.
When could Peter Parker play trombone?
Never gotten to play this but I always feel bad for the bass bone, having to toungue all the way down there plus he’s gotta be out of breath after like the 2nd or 3rd one
my toxic trait is thinking i could play this...
at 00:43 you were rushing
what trombone is that?
I think it's a Bach 42bo
What grade level of music is this?
Grade 5
Do you think I should play this in my middle band for 7 grade it looks so easy and the notes are
are you insane? those are literal triplet sixteenth notes
dude how old are you! you look 22
but here u said was in high school 😭
I think the timpani’s had a disease
