Theo does bring a lot of out his guests , the way he words questions are like an innocent kid just being curious.
What an awesome trait to have. Most people don’t have that approach or ability. If you to tell a friend to think about eating healthier and he’ll be like “yea well you need to drink less alcohol” touché I guess lol. People don’t get defensive with Theo.
He's extremely respectful and genuine and that goes a long way when you're an interviewer

That's amazing!!! Lots of people just focus on the negatives and use excuses as a reason not to get healthy. It is very sad, seeing people who only have one chance in life sell themselves short and then become defensive if you suggest a better lifestyle. "Be concerned about yourself!" or "You need to be more compassionate!" and my favorite "We need to empower and not fat shame!" Why in the hell would I support a unhealthy lifestyle that leads to an early death?! Society is decaying so rapidly and the main reason for this is that mankind has become weak and is supporting unhealthy/unnatural lifestyles that ultimately lead to ones destruction. Again, great job and God bless :)
I hear ya my man. I was 360 lbs I'm 138 now! It's a life long struggle.
You get to a point in your weight where you feel you have reached a point of no return. It same with drug users and other alternative lifestyles as well where you feel like you are just too far gone. I was about 300 and same height, in one year dropped down to 200 with intense fasting. Turns out that was the easiest way for me. Anyways, anyone feeling they are at the point of no return, you aren't and to be honest, if you can get into a keto system, fasting, carnivore, vegan, idfk what else, but something else and stick with it for a month, it becomes so easy. I chose fasting because i couldn't be wasting hella money on "health food" and if i can do it, anyone can do it. SO DO IT!

I love the realness of his character and the open-ness in his demeanor. He means no harm. He was who he was and he recognizes his wrongs. He knows you can't change the past but because of it, he has changed and send a better side.
Personally I'm tired of scripted answers along the lines of "I messed up, I'm so sorry" but it's admirable that he can say he's still growing and understanding the person he was while trying to become better.

Really love Jelly Roll, but man I hope he gets healthy. You cant drink how he drinks, do cocaine and be this heavy. He is on borrowed time unless he gets better. Man, I’m gonna be sad if he passes away. Alot of people will be.

Coke definitely isn't good for your heart, especially at higher weights. But alcohol in smaller amounts is good for your heart, bad at high amounts.

I was morbidly obese my whole entire life as well. When I had my twins in 2006 I couldn’t get up from the floor without my husband helping me. My knees and back hurt constantly. Therefore after soul searching and much research I had the MGB(mini gastric bypass) which is an entirely different weight loss surgery than all of the other ones that are currently out there and have been. This procedure is only done by three surgeons in the world. One of them is in Las Vegas. One of them is in Texas and the last one is in Davenport Florida. And the best thing about this procedure is that it’s 100% reversible. I really did need to get that because it completely reset My metabolic system. The biggest thing about having any kind of weight loss surgery is the health maintenance that’s required. You have to take proton pump inhibitors for stomach acid every day for the rest of your life, or your gallbladder will go bad, because you’re bypassing fat. The other thing is is that you have to take vitamins every single day, to stay optimally, healthy. I gradually lost 200 pounds over about 10 years. And I maintain my goal weight of 132 pounds for three years. I’ve never had to measure my fluid intake or how much water I can drink. But I have to watch what I drink. You can’t drink alcohol, soda, excessive amounts of coffee, and tea. Soda carbonation causes your stomach to swell, so that’s kind of counterproductive. I honestly have to say that if I had not had the surgery, I would probably be in a wheelchair. I’ve had two back surgeries, and as a result of being so overweight, I also had to have two enormous hernia repairs done. I have complete and total self acceptance now for the way that I am. I don’t ever regret having the surgery.

I used to be obese and now I am a bodybuilder who also runs marathons from time to time. Getting in shape is LIFE CHANGING in every single aspect of life. My favorite cousin is about the same size as jelly roll. My whole family is obese while there's me who is just in amazing shape and no matter what I do or say they are just content with it. I'm not trying to force them to lose weight I just want them to not die.

A normal person who decides to lift weights and eat right can look better than 80 to 90 percent of the population in a year. The fact that you think just because I lift weights and can run means I'm on steroids shows just how delusional most people are. Have fun being out of shape forever

That's the thing with it. Lot of people don't want to hear it. Hardest thing in life is confronting our problems head on because it's painful. The truth hurts. But man its not good being obese like Jelly is. Glad to hear a positive story from you! Everyone in that physical shape can overcome it. It is crazy. I’m the opposite, when I’m going through shit I don’t eat. I also just don’t enjoy food that much. I usually just have a smoothie in the morning and then dinner, i never eat lunch cause I don’t get hungry. Never ever eat snacks.
That’s why it’s really hard for me to understand people who struggle with their weight.

i blew up to 6ft, 315 in high school. after college really put it in perspective, i got on a weight loss journey and have lost 53 pounds in a year. knowing there’s more to life than comfort foods did a lot.

Therapy, nutritionist, personal trainer. If you have the money for all three, I say go for it. You will get to the point where you really want to live.
JR is already on his way to success bc he hired a nutritionist. That person will give him the accountability he's needed his whole life to see food as an energy source and not an addiction. My mom is very similar where if no one is on top of her fitness and eating habits, she'll go off the rails but if she has the right ppl around her to be successful, it always works out in the end! Wasn't familiar with Jelly Roll until very recently. JRE clip and now on here. He is one cool mf'er. I have a feeling he will be hanging with his grandkids in the future. We all have our own struggles one way or another. Some harder than others for sure, and I wish Jelly and Theo all the best that life can give.

Me and jelly are a LOT alike. I'm about his size and have been bigger and been smaller. And I've been thru a lot of the same struggles. Hearing him talk about it has helped me a lot with my confidence.
As a person that has had the surgery a year ago today , it’s true drinking water and eating is definitely harder. It’s not perfect but I tried every diet and couldn’t lose it so this was the last chance to not die early. It just takes a change in mentality to get through it. Down 245 lbs since January 2021

I had a bad fall last May and got a TBI from it. It caused weight gain due to pituitary damage. If you wanted a water flavoring, the sugar free Peach iced tea from the Dollar Tree is good. It is the only water flavoring I can drink, as the rest of them are too sugary or taste like chemicals. Just in case you wanted a little zip to your water. I think it is 5 calories a pack.

The part about starting to give a fuck, I feel that shit. I do a pretty physical job and only recently have I figured "dude if you get in to shape you might find this easier and won't be hurting all the time". Change your mindset, change your life.

I love Jelly...
I was 350 at 20, lost 170lbs to join the military and have maintained 210 at 6'0 for over 12 years now. Just gotta figure out what you're willing to do to make it a life style. Diets don't work, learn how to eat/supplement that works for you, I've found two meals and intermittent fasting works best for me. Same thing goes for working out, hate running? Then don't do it, I enjoy weight lifting and I swim and go on walks for cardio.
