My daughter was 4 years old when I first heard this version, 20 years ago. I was blown away by Dave 's. Rendition in his passion then and now. I've seen Dave a number of times and he always gives it 100%.
I cry, yes. For the beauty of knowing I was wrong about so many aspects of life and death. I cry for the beauty of knowing more than my words can express. When I feel their presence, I am touched beyond words, beyond meanings known to me. It is a warmth Ive never known, a wholeness in a sense of feeling filled, but still empty.
I loved this Dave Matthew's Version of The Beatles most touching Song In My Life. I've lost my uncle, some friends, relatives and my own father this is a perfect tribute for them.
I heard the original version at my local bar tonight, at which point I had to come back to hear this one, a version I heard 17 years ago….in those 17 years, I lost many people I love. Matthews’ rendition here encapsulates how it feels. The tragedy, the beauty-a duality we find hard to reconcile when we think of the loved ones we’ve lost.
This was my exhusband and my song. We've been divorced for a decade, but remained close. He passed away last week at 45. My heart breaks for our teenaged sons. Please watch over our boys, Jason. Rest in peace.
Its a longing to be with them: to feel that blissful. Its a hoping that I will get there, too, one day. Its knowing that their right there, but feeling that phantom pain because the body and mind want to be able to touch and acknowledge what the spirit knows.
Its why people go to church on Sunday, why they cry when they see a happy ending, why they hope when they mentally know all is hopelessThese are things we all know, but shut our eyes to until we feel that tide of love from beyond our understanding wash over usand then we know it again.
back in the 90's in some concerts people would run up on the stage and jump off, that pissed him off a little, but he can put up with someone yelling no problem
well the original piano recording is played one octave lower and then sped up on tape. So you can see how it is hard for a pianist to play the solo live.
This is better than the original. The beatles have a very unique sound. It works for them but compared to other people, the beatles sound is very nasal. Not soothing at all. This, however, is vocally much better.
For me... this is the best version EVER of this song. Want this played at my funeral so all will know how much I loved everyone I love now.

This gives me chills. Dave is a genius, no one does it better
It amazes me how Dave can always do covers while still sounding like Dave!

I love this version of the song. I think it's beautiful and has a lot of feeling. I'll take that over perfection any day.

....I actually thought he did a smashing job, and to be honest, this is my go to version over the original, as sad as that makes me to say it.

This is the best version even better than the first one as this is truer to the lyrics.

@HanaEurope Imagine was not by "The Beatles"... jeez
Es increible que este mismo hombre saliera actuando como gay en una pelicula de adam sandler jajajaj, igual es un genio.
why, why, why someone screams? damn..
Also who the HELL was yelling at him??
what is that guy yelling? i don't have my headphones on
@drixgnr Dave is God... Lennon is dead... ooohhh too harsh... ? kidding... Lennon is a demon with a halo... simply said...
This Might be the most irritating covers i ever heard😍😍😍
I love Dave Matthews, but this was WAY out of his league. Sounds decent though...
The chords are wrong and the same goes for the melody. This version is a disgrace,Sing it right if you can Dave
i found one of the nineteen..

Korey Wenstrup WOW 😮
Fragiskos Zappas right about the chords , it sounds kinda off to me somewhere but i still like it
The worst performance in that tribute.
