When Sam came to visit we had two good days of flying and they turned out to be some of the nicest late spring soaring flights we've had.
Plenty of airtime in smooth air, some really cool air-to-air shots and even got to try a pod harness for the first time.

We have a soaring spot very similar to your costal site. Spring and fall work the best.
How are you guys loving having a motor now?

It's been pretty good! Just a shame we haven't had much chance to fly it much due to life getting in the way!

Did you ever try the same wing with and without the bag? Any idea on the performance difference?

I have tried it on that day and didn't feel a noticeable difference but common wisdom says that between an open and closed harness the pod should give you around a 1 point increase in glide performance. Hard to know without measurement and it's also said that this performance increase can be very much decreased or even have a negative impact on performance if the pod angle of incidence is not adjusted optimally.
