      @@SharonB Haha, exactly! And thank you! I was completely surprised as it was a post, out of all other AP posts I've applied for so far, that I thought was hardest to get noticed from (Neurodevelopment with the CAMH Service) and it sits at band 5. I've had exposure through my experience with children and adolescents with neurodevelopment issues. I'm a little worried though about being asked about the duration of my experiences because some of them have just been one off's, for example I was a camp leader for a group of individuals with CP during a week's course of outdoor activities. Would that type of question come up?? I'm just worried they'll deem me as not having enough experiences. In the JS they did only mention "Some knowledge of mental health issues in children and young people". Your thoughts? Have they asked you a similar question before? Salamat gurly x

    OMG! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. I wanted to ask if you have any tips and tricks for exam revision? Congratulations once again, I watched your previous video of not getting the position and you were very upset. Watching this video made me very happy. You definitely deserve it. :)

      Thank you!! It was such an emotional rollercoaster tbh :') I do have some things that I always did to prep for exam's at uni HOWEVER I got a 2:1 overall, so I don't know if I would be the best person to get revision advice from? I loved using flashcards because they really test your knowledge and I always rewatched every lecture before the exam!

    I have no idea if you will see this, but hey ho here goes. I’ve had three AP interviews now, your first rejection video helped me so much in feeling less like a failure haha! I’m just wondering, does reflection have to include things like ‘and I think I could apply what I’ve learned to the xyz service’ or is it still okay if I say ‘and this taught me a lot about how to handle xyz’ without applying it to the role I’m interviewing for? Congratulations getting onto the doctorate and thank you for your brilliant content thus far!

    Congratulations on getting the job! I just recently came across your channel, found it so helpful for my first upcoming Assistant Educational Psychologist Interview!! I've been applying endlessly for AP posts! Finally got my first one on Friday. Its at a specialist (educational, social, emotional and mental health needs associated with Autism) school for 10-16 year olds. I'm facing a pupil panel interview, spending some time with the kids (I'm guessing observing the classroom day to day activities) then a formal interview with 3 panel members. I am open to any kind of AP post tbh, as I know my end goal is to get on to a doctorate. Any advice and tips on this type of interview would be super helpful! Thats if you have any time lovely xo

    What experience did you have when applying for this role?

    • @SharonB
      @SharonB  Před 4 lety +2

      For my placement year I worked as an Honorary Assistant Psychologist in a learning disability team (dementia service) within the NHS which is where my most relevant experience came from. In terms of other experience - I volunteered with the Alzheimer's society as a befriender, worked in a dementia specialist care home as a health care assistant, as a support assistant/PA for a girl with Down syndrome, a playworker for children with learning disabilities and as an ABA tutor for a girl with autism :) (This is what I've done over 4 years)
