I used to have a 1st ed back in elementary but I got scammed by getting offered fake exodia pieces in exchange for it 😢 I wish I still had it.
Toons are obviously very nostolgic for everyone, however, Crab Turtle was always my favorite card from this set growing up. I thought he was the coolest looking card back in the day!

The Toons! But if I’m being really honest, for me it’s the early Ritual cards. First set to introduce them as a new mechanic makes them stand out. Relinquished being from the anime and cover card is the most remembered but personally Hungry Burger for the pure silliness 😂
Magic ruler was such a cool set as a kid. I loved the toon cards in the anime and only had a few of them as a kid. Love the blue eyes toon so much!
I remember wanting the toons so bad, and ended up getting serpent night dragon. such a good pull but didn't have anything special about it the way toon mermaid did.
Same thing happened to me. I still remember pull SND at the gas pumps of the 7/11.

Pegasus has my favorite monsters, this honestly may be the first and only booster box I’ll ever buy.
Toon World has to be the most nostalgic!! From the moment that music began in the anime I fell in love with that card and all of the monsters that went along with it!
You can catch even the smallest glimpse of the card and immediately hear that theme music.
Relinquished or Toon Summoned Skull is the most nostalgic card from Spell Ruler 👀
Most nostalgic card for me is easily Toon World. I feel like it kinda defined this particular period in Yu-Gi-Oh. In a way it was kinda the first true archetype with proper, dedicated cards that you could build a whole deck around. Plus the art for all of them is just so good. I honestly wish the archetype got some proper support.
I can so relate to your excitement on each toon you pulled. I've always wanted a toon deck since I was a kid. But nothing takes me back like seeing Giant Trunade. I remember using that a lot when I would duel my brother a long time ago.
Serpent Night Dragon still one of my favorite artworks ever. Soo simple yet so effective.
Toon summon skull is my favorite card in this set. The artwork was dark and badass. Loved how he popped out of the book 📖
My favorite card out of this set was Relinquished. As a kid i was pretty dumb and cause of the fact I loved the color blue and I associated that card with being my favorite. I grew to hate the card haha
Snatch Steal was actually brought back during Shaddoll format 8/9 years ago, but was immediately re-banned the during the next list
For me it’s probably not a popular choice but it’s Serpent Night Dragon….. I remember being a kid and my dad coming home with packs for me and my brother and I ended up pulling Serpent Night Dragon. The nostalgia for MRL is crazy
Relinquished for me hands down. I remember seeing it as the display card in the Pegasus starter deck every time i went to Walmart.... good times.... + anime appearance was legendary!

Just grabbed 24 packs of Metal Raiders and Pharaoh's Servant. Ahhhhhhh these reprints have me feeling like a kid again. For the GA, as for most nostalgic or memorable card it would be Relinquished, mainly from the anime but just such a cool looking card.
Gotta be Relinquished for me, it eluded me for many years as a kid, and when I finally got my tiny hands on one I was super happy. Nostalgia
Funny enough, I had a very similar Earth based deck growing up involving Beast, Beast-Warrior, and Flip monsters. But back when I had it, I called it "Stampede".
Relinquished has to be my favorite card as when I was younger my dad used to play the SDP deck and made my life hell with that card, brings back so many memories
Gotta say that Mystical Space Typhoon would be my most nostalgic

Back in 2005 when i was 10 i went to a local Yugioh tournament at my local bookstore. I was one of the youngest there. I didnt win the tournament but i ended up winning several side games with high stakes cards on the line. I ended up winning a serpent knight dragon. I then brought it to show and tell at school. No one was as impressed as i was unfortunately.
Toon Blue Eyes Dragon is my number one favorite Toon monster that Funko made into a Funko pop. I love Toon Blue Eyes Dragon. Sabrina Griffin.
Toon Word is most nostalgic for me, it just brings back all the childhood memories of sitting in front of the TV in the morning with my bowl of cereal and slopping into Toon World happiness 😭☺️
Most nostalgic card for me is toon world and all the toons. Before my brother passed his friend gave him a collage of Yugioh cards and there was toon world and the toon cards. But toon world stood out the most because I had seen the first Yugioh movie and Pegasus used it and seeing the toon versions of cards was dope

My most nostalgic card from this set was my first card ever - Psychic Kappa. It was back when everything first came out. It was starting to become popular at my school and I didn't have any cards so a classmate gave me a Psychic Kappa from Spell Ruler he didn't want. Obviously not the craziest or coolest card ever, but one I'll always remember.
Similar story - except I got Terra the Terrible as my first card.
All of the Toons are nostalgia and my favorite especially Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon lol
But besides the Toons, the next runner-up nostalgia card that I loved in Magic/Spell Ruler was actually Slot Machine because the monster had a very unique design and was even used by Bandit Keith haha

I never got it in the original magic ruler but Toon Summoned Skull is the most nostalgic for me. I did get 2 Blue Eyes toon dragons in my 25th anniversary case.
As lots of people have said already, my favorite and most nostalgic card is blue eyes toon dragon. It was a card I never was able to pull when I was younger back when the 1st edition boxes were available. Ended up getting one in a trade that was really beat up later on but lost it! Would love one for my collection!
My sister, cousin, and I once split a booster box of spell ruler and I managed to get a holo Toon World. I’d have to say Toon World. It is one of my favorite cards regardless. I loved Pegasus in the anime.

Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon is still my favorite card to this day. Dragunity Knight Gae Dearg is a super close second though. I still have my original 1st ed MRL Blue Eyes Toon. My uncle went to a card store for my birthday back in the day and knew nothing about buy cards and didn't know you could buy them buy the pack and was tricked into buying an entire box. Atleast that is the story he told me. That was a hella good birthday.
The most nostalgic card for me is Toon World because of the cartoon. Everything coming out of the book was so cool
serpent night dragon is my favorite card from that set. it was the only rare card i ever pulled as a kid from packs. i lost it in a duel to a guy name paul that lived down the street. i shall never forget that card
I pulled Serpent Night Dragon, Vampire Lord, and Gate Guardian from 2 25th anniversary collections. Was pretty rad since I had never pulled any of those cards before.
Any toon card would be the most nostalgic but Blue eyes topn ftw! Was a great part of the animation too with Yugi vs Pegasus!
Can't beat the toons and the awesome Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon. It's still one of the coolest secret rares ever made. I have to shout out Toon Summoned Skull because of how to artwork stayed in my mind even after not touching the game for years.

I don't know if I can pick just one card I like all blue-eyes toon dragon, toon summoned skull and toon mermaid. There's something about the anime like art style that I really like a lot and everytime I see one opened it makes me smile

I remember I thought exodia was in this set when I was young, and I kept opening booster packs and then getting a ton of relinquished along with tons.
I remember pulling the toon world card and feeling like I got something so special and rare! I even imagined that I stole the card from Pegasus and I would pretend to hide from him to make sure he couldn't have that card back! Basically what I'm saying is that I'm a dang hero!

Ryu-Ran is my most nostalgic card from Spell (magic) Ruler. It was one of the first cards that I owned and I really liked the artwork as a kid, making it one of my childhood favorites.
My most nostalgic card from Spell Ruler has to be Serpent Night Dragon
I don’t think I ever really noticed how many cards from Spell Ruler ended up in Starter Deck Pegasus, not to mention the start of many Stall/Burn/Mill staples like Chain Energy and Gravekeeper’s Servant. I may be in the minority here but my favorites from Spell Ruler are Serpent Night Dragon and Maha Vailo.
Most nostalgic card for me will always be Relinquished, has been my favorite monster ever since. Gave so many of my friends problems with Relinquished.
Mother grizzly is probably the most nostalgic ones from the playground days. Getting an aqua madoor or a nightmare penguin off one monster was crazy and very annoying to deal with.
Still use it in water decks to this day
Honestly i know its strange but i used to love saying jigen bakudan back in the day. Idk i just liked the name and liked watching the show and seeing pegasus use the card. I wouldnt say its my number 1 favorite but its one of the nostalgic cards for me from this set

All the Toons are great though.
For me two cards that I remember where the strongest in my deck that I am finding out came from this set are Ryu-Ran and Flash Assailant. Most of my deck were vanilla 1200 Atk monsters (like looking at episode 1 of the show) and these two put me ahead of the pack of my friends who we all were very young and knew nothing about the strategy behind the game

My most nostalgic card from this set will always be Blue Eyes Toon Dragon! It was the very first secret rare card that I ever pulled growing up. Never had any luck with LOB or MRD.
Most nostalgic for me would be Mythical Space Typhoon and Ryu-Ran. As far as toons go, definitely both Toon Summoned Skull and Blue-eyes Toon Dragon, they’re timeless.
Most Nostalgic from Spell (or Magic Ruler when I picked it up) Ruler has got to be Relinquished for me man, always love the duel with pegasus in the show when it first came out. Cheers!
My most nostalgic of this set is Luminous Spark and the other cards like it, and Messenger of peace.
Invader of the throne was one of the last super rares you would want to pull because it was so common that even at the time most of the regular rares in the pack were more valuable; was still a good card for that era.
My dad worked at Konami so I'd get packs for free (shoplifting) and I think I'd get about two pot of greeds and maybe 2, 3 toon world's in the time it'd take to pull 10 Invader of the thrones...

I think Axe of despair is for me the most nosralgic card because back in the days it was always in my deck as the most powerfull equip spell , so I take this card
Toon Mermaid is absolutely the most nostalgic card for me. I’ve had that card since I was a kid, and was the only Toon card I had for a very long time.

Actually they did. January 2015 it was limited to 1 until the next list in April. Too strong for them to keep around. And now we have Isolde so it's not coming back anytime soon again.

Wow insane opening, both secret rares pulled back to back is god damn SICK! Sad that we didn't see Relinquished since he marked my childhood with this set but overall very nice pulls from their master Pegasus.
