We were talking about this on our podcast. I respect what she's done, but seriously, it's absolutely, 100% time to let got of the MMA link. She's not relevant. I personally feel the same way about Travis Browne, too. He'll bring her back in to the mma news.
Yep I'm disliking every video they put out talking about/hyping inactive fighters. It's been most of their videos lately.
Seriously, they spend like half of each show talking about Rousey and Floyd. The sad thing is they can't admit they are trying to pander to casuals and boxing/wwe fans in a desperate attempt to get more clicks, instead they keep telling us is big MMA news that we want to hear and they have to cover it, even tho we keep telling them we don't care.
The MMA media doesn't want to take any responsibility for creating the Ronda monster. They built her up as a God-like figure when she was winning. There was zero measured and balanced coverage of her when she was having success, everything was hyperbolic.

So true, they were scared to lose access. Khabib catches a hook on the forearm and they blow it up "Look right there! he cant strike" Ronda never got any critiques, even Joanna got critiques and questions about her grappling, is it enough ect. Ronda everything was "perfect"

Hey Luke. Why are you still saying that Mike Golic asked Rhonda "If you could go back in time..."? That's not what he was asking, and it is obvious by listening to the lead up to that question. Mike was asking Rhonda about a return to MMA and asked "...if you could go back, in time?" As in "In time, might you go back to MMA?" There was a comma there, even if he spoke quickly through it. Why are you making Mike out to be a "Donk" (to use your word) that asked a ridiculous question? Call it what it was - a misunderstanding and a miscommunication, at most - partly due to Mike not pausing an adequate amount of time (for some) before saying "in time", and partly due to Rhonda (perhaps justifiably) having her usual "screw the media" guard up and misinterpreting what Mike asked.

CW held off my MMA withdrawls with a sweet event last week, nobody is talking about. They might not be the most technical, but they fight hard. 3 or 4 KO's. Fun indeed.

Really good to Segura getting better and better for each show he is in, not so much parroting and showing more personality, I like it. Same can be said for Luke as a host, finding his own style and letting his personality through.

Luke Thomas hosting or being a part of the MMA Beat cast doesn't bother me. In fact, he is one of my favorites.
Also, MMA Fighting's website coverage of Ronda Rousey doesn't bother me. If I don't want to view it, I simply don't click on the article.

Luke 'Ronda Talk' Thomas reminds me of Mr. Rogers
Wonderboy is a risk they didn't need to take at this point. He is an elite level striker who's awkward style makes guys look bad. Till looked impressive against Cerrone but we can't suddenly view him as an elite level fighter in the division. Why build an event in Liverpool around Till and then give him a fight against an awkward fighter who has a high chance of beating him?
Usman would have proven a far more appropriate choice because it's a style that Till could fare better against both competitively and aesthetically and Usman would engage in verbal sparring which would only stoke the Till fans in his home town.

Well for what it’s worth. I find Luke entertaining, non biased and he has the most depth to his analysis of mma on the panel and maybe the most relatable in terms of explaining mma to fans in a way that is understandable to the average fan. He could benefit from less bashing though

I haven’t been as interested in any Alvarez fights the same way since .
I was very much interested in both fights that Conor had with Nate Diaz . I honestly couldn’t have cared much for a fight involving Nate Diaz before he fought Conor .
I was very much interested in watching Conor fight Jose Aldo at UFC 194 . Before that fight , it had been years since I was hyped about a Jose Aldo fight .
I absolutely tuned in to watch Conor fight the wrestler Chad Mendez at UFC 189 . I had never been hyped about a Chad Mendez fight before then or since .
Conor hypes fights , and all of his fights inside the UFC have been absolutely fun to watch .
We are talking about sports , dude . This is not a cure for cancer or economic planning to end child poverty , ok ?
Conor is worth talking about even 2 years since his last mma fight - no different than continuing to talk about any other sports athlete YEARS after they have retired .

I'd rather Waggenheim host than Luke, its like he's auditioning for a role every time Ariel isn't there.
McGregor has never been a real champion... ANYWHERE. There's an old saying, "To be considered a champion you have to defend." Conor has never defended a title that he has held. How could Conor ever have been the real champion? He was handed everything. He was handed ALL the opportunities. Yes he had to and did cash in on them, but he's the only UFC fighter given those opportunities. He beats the 7th ranked fighter & he gets a title shot. He never defends his title at 145lbs, never fights at 155lbs, there are quality fighters ranked at 155lbs, and he gets a title shot at 155lbs. He then boxes, takes 18 months off and healthy & he still has the belt. I can't wait for a REAL champion!
