Rosen is my favorite type of NyQuil
Voice like butter
Hits different. Body has an immediate response to the medicine. Ever tried fentanyl?
@@tylerlooney wanna run that last part by me again?
Oh no Ny Quil!
Don't know if that's the complement you think it is...
Eric knows infinitely more about chess than his opponents.
He also has used more time than his opponents 170+ straight times.
This is something you should think about.
This is actually interesting, goes to show that taking your time pays off, not the first opponent that blundered due to blitzing
@@Nanonium hes also talking
He uses more time as he's trying to explain every move to his audience.
It’s getting better on the opponent’s part as of late, but it has been a theme of players playing blitz against Rosen playing Rapid.
@@arch1q892 this is true but even then as he does so he sometimes finds new ideas
Eric, thank you for the wholesome and instructive content. Been going through a hard time lately and your videos are a big comfort.
Stay strong! Hope it gets better for you.
@@AJD... thank you 🩷
Going to sleep so good this July 4th. Eric’s voice drowning out fireworks is perfect
Still waiting for “oh no my win streak” title
careful what you wish for 😅
Way to go! You jinxed him!
The Charlie scotch game is such a classic
@ 3:00 NEW T-Shirt: "It would probably help to know some theory here."
Love it!
That would be a great shirt.
It never ceases to amaze me how players rated almost 2000 make 1 or 2 move tactical mistakes. Game 2 was decided by a simple remove the defender tactic losing a minor piece. It happens all the time. Chess truly is 99% tactics until you reach 2200-2100.
Keep the videos coming! 😊
Much love from Indonesia 🥰
There isn’t a desperado for that queen
SAVAGE
"Yeah hi boss it's me, not feeling too good so I won't be in this morning. I'll get another hour of rest and see how I feel"
First time on your channel, thank you, really instructional and just yesterday I had such a "Oh NOOOO MY QUEEN" moment ;-)
I'm from Colorado and rated like 1700 but never heard of that gambit. Seems interesting, the lichess opening summary points out the line 3. exf5 d5 4. Bb5 Bxf5 5. Ne5 which seems very fun
Great video! This series has been really helpful and instructive for my own playing. Keep it up, Eric!
Eric edited out the THROBBING :(
The best part really too. It's a shame. (I get it though. Eric is very family friendly.)
when?
These games were really enjoyable to watch and learn from. It's fascinating how there's always a move in a position as long as you stay focused and think things through, like the queen trap in the last game is findable when you take a step back and realise the queen is just overextended without any backup
I watch all these on my lunch breaks (usually one game, so it takes me 3 days to get through a video). Thank you for sharing your mind powers with us!
Very pretty conversion in game 1. Especially I liked the optics of the white queen dominating the center on d5 while the black queen was passive on c8 (which led to control of the only open file, control of the seventh rank, and a decisive kingside attack).
Great wins and so informative. Best chess content on the net.
Eric’s voice is so good, and also I love the content
Congratulations on getting your speedrun Elo above my birth year without a single loss.
Been here since day 1 so happy to see you still going strong
What a run you're on! I'm finding it so exciting when you encounter an opening you haven't studied, I start to think this might be the first loss! And it's great seeing you play intuitively
Thank you for these Eric.
Éric THANK YOU FOR THE CONTENT ! ❤️
Wonderful speed run episode, Eric. Love them, so grand instructional insights. Thank You, .. Mike
Was waiting for this
Thank you for the last analysis on the first game (pawn endgame)!
Great game and analysis
48:05 Fantastic trap for the queen here..opponents morale must have been minus 10- resigned on spot ;)) Thank you for another great video!! You continue to take your time and calculate moves much more than these opponents, relying on your fast blitz game at the end- I'm guessing us and these opponents don't have a fast blitz game so they can't take their time and calculate.. I'm guessing this will end at around 2300-2400 opponents but we'll see ;)
He really is very pleasing to watch!
I've never played against the Colorado Gambit. Nice choice of moves to get into a good line.
Ooooo, something besides the fireworks to keep me awake 🎉
Awesome! Thank you
"Thanks for the fat 10 gift subs Pikachu" will remain in chess history
I think the words immediately afterwards are the more remembered ones
Eric you are the man
Thanks Eric!
“hopefully people can trust me” eric i would trust you with my life
Looking forward to the colorado gambit opening video
Me, when the speedrun comes to an end: oh no, my withdrawal!
I’m proud to say I beat you to 2000! Reached my goal just last week, but I don’t think I’ll be reaching 2100 anytime soon 😂 thanks for the awesome content as always!
I love you Rosen.
eric is the bob ross of chess content
all i know is that knights are ferocious
JUST HAD TO WATCH THIS ONE TWICE. YOU SO WELL DEMONSTRATE HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO CONSIDER EACH OF YOUR OPPONENT'S MOVES IN STAYING SOLID, WHILE EVER IMPROVING YOUR POSITION. I GET SO MUCH OUT OF YOUR SPEED RUN FORMAT OF CONTENT. THANK YOU BIG TIME, AND PLEASE DO KEEP THEM COMING. YOUR EXPLANATIONS IN THOUGHT PROCESS ARE SO AWESOME, ERIC! THANK YOU! ... MIKE.
wow, thanks
I'm a simple man.
I see a Colorado in the thumbnail and I click the video
US Tank is called "Kraut Killer" So i guess you could see those guys would be enthusiastic about what they do!!
Thank You Picacho
Only reason I’m awake to see this is I’m watching the (UK) elections lol
eric rosen is kind of my sprit animal
Oh yes 😮😮
In the smith mora, what do you do against the double gambit where both bishops are immediately activated (instead of Nxc3 they do Bc4 begging you to take b2 to do Bxb2)? Is there a way to neutralize it without getting destroyed?
In game 2 c4 a desperate error during white's mop-op operation. Player needs to give up as soon as it sinks in white is a piece down. Only a person who loves misery plays on when it's easy to just start a new game.
Eric continually recommends to never resign. I've had some success with that.
@@quizzleme Without any doubt you can't win by resigning, however I believe over the long haul you'll derive more enjoyment from your games if you quit the miserable positions and start again from scratch. That's just me, of course.
"road22100" sounded immediately to my ears like a speedrun account.
Oggy theme goes hard
in the final position did the bishop have to be on c4?
20:15 Hey Eric, I wish you talked about f4. I thought of the same move for the same reason but it seems the engine didn't like it. Would've been instructive.
I just checked the position to see why the engine doesn't like f4. Apparently after 8.f4 d5 9.e5 Qh6, black is doing quite okay with Nf5 coming next.
I didn't want to play 8.0-0, because d5 looked annoying to meet, but the engine points out 9.Nb5! is quite strong for white, as black as some issues with the c7-pawn.
Definitely some lessons to take away there!
@@eric-rosen Thanks for the response, man. Yeah Nb5 looks really strong after Qh6. I love the speedrun videos and the fast upload frequency. I just hit 2k Rapid today. Your videos definitely helped! Thanks again!
let's gooooo
Shawn from the good doctor
Cool
He's named Good Knight 2u because his play puts you to sleep.
13:29 what about pawn takes knight fxg6 instead of recapturing? seems like an aggressive line
Then we lose our rook on e2 for the h7 or f7 pawn ;)
@@catac83 well yes, but couldn't you take the pawn on h7 with check, and then take back the bishop? now the king is exposed and you have a bishop, rook, and knight ready to attack immediately. it just looked interesting to me
@@catac83 however i've checked with an engine and it looks like although it seemed like white had several options, black is just fine easily defending and runs away with the material advantage
I notice you cut off that MoistCritical clip a few seconds early.
Can he make it to 200 wins without a loss?
Guess not
170 wins, 0 draws, 0 losses. INTERESTING...
Sus?🤔
How yall go to sleep to this?
YA, IMPORTANT COMMENT AS ERIC'S CONTENT BOTH KEEPS ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT LEARNING BETTER THAN THROUGH ANY OTHER SOURCE, YET TRULY IS ALSO SUCH A PROFESSIONAL HOST, THAT HE BRINGS A RELAXED FEEL THAT CONTRIBUTES MORE TO MY RETENTION AND LEARNING THEN ANY OTHER SOURCE OUT HERE AND THAT'S BEEN A FACT FOR MANY YEARS NOW!
Sleep Gambit
never play f6
Eric relies 90% on counter attacks and almost never wants to trade queens.
If he finds a good agressive and fast oponent, it will be a huge concern.
Never play f6
Hello, is it important to know opening lines. I only know until 3 to 4 moves of few openings. I am at 1200 rapid ratings
THROBBING
It hurts me to see when white plays the Smith-Morra and doesn't know what to do so early in the opening.
On that level yes
If that hurts you should get a life
@@FatUncle-cg3jt Now that is a mean comment.
@@alfonsorivasvalles2204 GREAT AND RIGHT ON REPLY!
What did Moistcr1tikal say next?

Perfect timing while waiting on the fireworks... HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!! Remember, this is what the 2nd amendment is all about!
2nd amendment? Protects the right to keep and bear arms. I'm not opposed but I'm not understanding. Elaborate.
Do you get paid by Chess Mood?
"moistCritical and xqc" lol bro speak english
SPOILER
I just opened Eric's account to analyze some of his games
and saw that he just got his first loss! Can't wait to see everyone's reactions. I think it's because he shaved the beard. Beard curse.
Where's the beard? I'm appalled and I will unsubscribe now. Hoping for a blitz or bullet speedrun.
3:00 - 'it would probably help to know some theory here....'
Welcome to my world eric 😂! Thats me every game.
My most successful strat currently, is to confuse the fuck out of my opponent to the point he is wondering if im a GM trolling on a speed run. I make moves so ridiculous that my opponent spins out thinking i see something he doesn't, and panics, and voila! We have it.
I'm a simple man.
I see a Colorado in the thumbnail and I click the video
