    Thank you Hamza Yusuf, for this series i do hope many more in the west take the time to learn more about islam so we can wake up that we have nothing to fear. Islam it seems now after knowing a bit more is one of the great faiths of the world and we have nothing to fear from a moslems. I wish very much that we could learn to live with each other and respect each others faiths.. Well done good work answered many questions i had with regards to your faith. Cheers Greg

    Hamza Yusuf is a very precious gem that we have. His knowledge and eloquent style are quite admirable. It is worthwhile to repeat his word, we need to learn "how to conquer our wants." Just this word is a sufficient reason to watch this video. if we can conquer our redundant desires, that would be the most remarkable conquest in our personal history. This is really a true conquest and incomparably better than the conquest of lands.

    At my work place I was caught in backbiting even if I did everything to avoid it. One of my coworkers that became a friend, I went to her, and started to speak about an evil coworkers, she stopped me, risked our friendship by telling me" I want my prayers to be answered, if you come with gossip, I will walk away, we don't do gossip" my nafs was offended and didn't talk to her for three days, but I knew she taught me some valuable lesson, and I wanted to stay friends with her, because I genuinely loved her for the sake of Allah swt.. She passed away, but she left behind her morals and amazing advice. Allah I rahama. Ameen. Now I navigate the workplace like an eel, nobody can get me caught into the gossip. Alhamdoulah.

    I cannot understand why people like to put labels on others. To my surprise muslims themselves do that all the time to other muslims. Names of prominent teachers, school of taughts, or mas-habs should not always be regarded as non-muslims or other muslims. I believe anyone that truly believe in `La ilaha ilalah Muhammad Rasolulah (s.a.w)` without any compromise with it true meanings is a Muslim. IGTILAF (differences of opinion) is allowed in Islam. After all Allah is the best and final Judge as to who is true muslim or not.

      I think he’s referring to Al-Qurtubi’s Tafsir of Al-Baqarah, specifically 2 : 52:
      “Da'ud said […] 'O Lord, show me Your most hidden blessing to me!' He said, 'Breathe, Da'ud.' Da'ud took a breath. Allah said, 'Who counts this blessing night and day?' “
      I think he mixed up David with Moses (who appears later in the passage).

      @mohammedyoussef5564 Před 6 lety

      as-salamu 3alaykum wa raHmatu-Llah, Irfandi. It is not a book he is explaining, wa Allahu 3alam, but the four main parts and the four main knowledges of Islam itself : Islam, Iman, Ihsan, and the Knowledge about the End times and the signs of the Hour. The base of this course shall be the famous "Hadeeth Jibril"...
      And the present episode is dealing with a "dramatically forgotten fondamental", and definitively the "unignorable" upper level, of this deen (religion) wich is al-Ihsan.
      It is a word that is not easy to translate... like "excellence" or "the perfected faith" may be ! but even like this, can you catch it ? wich is probably why the Prophet - saws - answers by an exemple when he was asked about it (al-ihsan) :
      《 It is that you worship Allah (God) as you see Him. Because if you can not see Him, kwow that, certainly, He sees you ! 》
      -- Note that we shall shurely understand here : "It is that you worship Allah (God) [and act] as you see Him. Because if you do not see Him know that (...)"
