Always thought Pace was one of the best if not the best drummer, very underrated. He still rocks even though he has many miles on him, back in his heyday he was probably the best in his class.

EXCELLENT video of Ian. As a drummer, we don't often get the priviledge of having the camera stay focused on the drummer for an entire song, especially such with a prominent player. Thanks. (Any way of correcting the spelling of Cuyahoga?)
I love this rendition of HS. Ever since I discovered it here on YT (edit: many years ago) it's always among the first 3 songs on my playlist when I need a soundtrack when travelling. Mr Paice - my fav drummer ever.
One thing I notice about Pace is he is very basic, he does not use 50 piece circular drum sets, many times he uses a basic 4 piece set up and still rocks it out. One of his best drum solo was on the Mule from "Made in Japan" it is a classic, if you look at the album cover you will see he is using a 4 piece set...
I wonder why only Ian Paice gets credit for this. I spot other members of DP in there. I could see Jon Lord and the singer definitely sounded like Gillan. Shame no Richie.

Easily. He also has more of a jazz style and he is very good at playing jazz. Bonham could not ever pull that off.
Because of him,many born childs want to playing a drum..
