Purple. Zep. Queen. Maiden. AND Brian Auger! Best one-shot supergroup since the McCartney Cavern Club gig (also with Ian Paice, along with David Gilmour etc) - which was the best one-shot supergroup since The Dirty Mac. AWESOME
If anyone was going to sit in for the late Jon Lord, Brian Auger is one of the few that could fill his boots. A massively underrated musician and one of the other finest keyboardists that the U.K. ever produced.
An instant supergroup playing one of the timeless classics to ever grace the airwaves, what a privilege it must've been to be there and witness this fantastic jam! "Brian! It's the end Brian!" Typical guitarist!
Muito lindo de ver. Vi agora 2023. Queen ,Iron ,Zeppelin homenageando deep purple. A Grandeza do deep purple neste cover. Fã do Purple desde meus 14 anos .Hoje tenho 67. Diretamente do Brasil
I don't think Brian was playing too much (despite the impression everyone seems to be trying to give)🤨🤨🤨🤨..... possibly overshadowing the keyboard player a bit I don't know....
Forgive a little bit of history - before “expanded” versions became available of the several concerts Deep Purple did in Japan, 1972 - i.e. when - at least in the UK - there was just “Made in Japan”, the absolutely brilliant live version of this song (from those Japanese dates) was available on a compilation album - “24 Carat Purple”. That performance was almost a summation of the power and cohesion of Mk.2 live (and it’s not a long number, either) - Gillan ends the song with a touch of Ozzy Osbourne’s “manic” vocal style in the way he emits his final scream. That performance is the “benchmark” for me - neither the reformed Mk 2 (of the 1980s) nor the Steve Morse era line up could match that version live - this line up (Dickinson, May, etc) gives a creditable performance - I wouldn’t knock it but - to the best of my knowledge - the 1972 live version is available on CZcams (as well as another performance from those Japanese dates) to listen to and I suspect - Deep Purple fans at least - would agree with this “ol rocker’s” opinion !
Black Night is a Masterpiece with a big M. Bruce sounding almost like a younger Mr Gillan. Real good musicians put Together doing what they know best Awesome ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
Great jam and to have representation from queen, Zeppelin and purple is amazing. Three of the best rockers from the 70s. Next I wanna see a page doing Smoke on the Water 🤓

I can't believe John Paul Jones is missed in the title. He is always overlooked, but truly one of the best bass players ever.
He may not be titled, standing in the dark on stage, but my ears will always find him.
I don't suppose he is bothered at all.
He also played mandolin, and a few other out of their norm instruments on Led Zeppelin albums. The guy has music for blood!
I thought the same.
As well as Brian Auger
It's not very often we get to enjoy an astrophysicist and an airline pilot jamming to a rock classic.
Should call themselves "The Polymaths".
Who is yhe astrophysicist ?
@@user-dz8bj6vt1v It's Brian.

Ian Paice is an absolute legend who is not given the recognition he is due.

That is pretty epic when you think about it.

And don’t forget Brain Auger from the Trinity.
Why is John Paul Jones not mentioned on the title?
And the great Brian Auger on keyboards

@@nofate_ what??!? It’s fewer letters than Bruce Dickinson. No excuse for omitting JPJ.

Wtf is it with JPJ getting no respect?? He's one of the best all around musicians/composers in r&r history!!
He's a very incognito kinda guy he rarely likes the spotlight and enjoys being a music teacher lol
He is all over the world recognized as rock n roll genius, played a pivotal role on Zeppelin existence, just that!
Dickinson, Jones, May and Paice, oh my gosh, what a band!
You can tell, these guys are having a blast. Bruce sings the song as if it was his own tune.

Ian Paice is an absolute monster drummer. Such power and swing!....wow
Best of the best. Really 🙃👍
I would have preferred Frank Beard, a much more powerful drummer.
It makes no sense to compare the multiplication table with the logarithm table, and even argue that there is more power in multiplication.
He really doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Hell, no one in Purple does.

John Paul Jones was a welcome surprise.
Shit, he really nailed that scream at the beginning. Sounded a lot like Ian. Plus how the hell do you not include John Paul Jones in the video title?

Because of too long name, I suppose. That's the only excuse to the author ;)
Brian Auger, John Paul Jones.
