(example) When I studied in Tokyo, I almost cringe when see in the Shibuya area of Japanese girls dating white guys, they walk with their chin tilted up and stride a bit taller as in "look at me, I have higher social capital than the rest of you because I'm dating an American/European", I even asked a couple in a cafe in Japan how they dated, the girl doesn't speak English and the guy can't speak Japanese other than a few words. Think about the validity of your argument. I see nothing "weird" about finding someone attractive or desirable in part based on immutable physical characteristics. I'm a white American guy who is strongly, but not exclusively, attracted to Asian women. For one thing, many white women, at least in the US, simply look so BIG to me, with many being large-framed and/or overweight. Asian women look great without makeup, while many white women seem to think makeup is essential. I like straight black hair, which is the natural type of hair most Asian women have. I also believe at least some groups of Asian women are of cultures that value education and appreciate nature. BTW, I also find many south Asian women attractive, too.

I kinda understand it. When you look at the culture of nations like South Korea and Japan, they are a mix of western culture and their own culture. As an anime fan I see a lot of glorification of Europe and or references to European culture and folklore in anime. For example: Attack on Titan is a pretty famous anime even in the west. The place were this show takes place is inspired by Germany from a few centuries ago and all characters bear German sounding names. This huge western and European influence obviously has an effect on asian women's dating preferences. Also the point with the conservative family is a big one I think. I'm a white American guy who is strongly, but not exclusively, attracted to Asian women. For one thing, many white women, at least in the US, simply look so BIG to me, with many being large-framed and/or overweight. Asian women look great without makeup, while many white women seem to think makeup is essential. I like straight black hair, which is the natural type of hair most Asian women have. I also believe at least some groups of Asian women are of cultures that value education and appreciate nature. BTW, I also find many south Asian women attractive, too.

I was married to an asian woman for about 12 years (1980’s) until she passed away. She was intelligent, feminine, beautiful, honest, loyal, every good quality you can think of. After that I have only been interested in asian women but not westernised women.

Actually in my experience, black and latino women will often express dissatisfaction with the stereotypical machismo of the men in their respective ethnicity. It's not self-hatred precisely, but they might feel confined by the traditional expectations of black or latino men. I've heard these complaints, but I don't think it's confined to one race or another. Just like in this documentary many men (of all races) seem to desire compliant non-confrontational women, disturbingly enough.
