If you want the characters to threaten you and call you names, ALL of them did that in the GameCube version. The dialogue in that game was so fun. While there is repetition of dialogue, it wasn't nearly as bad as New Leaf.

@@KaruuxiOldAcc hey, they are still out there! Worth the try. They are less focused on being creative, and more focused on living a slow paced life. I really enjoy the charm but I understand why people may not like them. But personally, I enjoy them more than the newer games!

I don’t understand why they didn’t bring back villagers who had personalities that were rare to their species. Example, Huggy was the only Peppy koala.

9:37 Gen is my favorite cut character, I laugh whenever I see him. I wish they would bring him back but not update his design at all- I want that short, feral bastard waddling around my island and causing mischief.

Looking at Liz and hearing you talk about her name was really fun for me, because I have a pet lizard! She's a super snow leopard gecko, and my biggest disappointment with Animal Crossing is that there's so few fun reptile characters. Bring Back Liz 2022!
I really wish they hadn't cut some of these like the Splatoon crossover characters and feline in my opinion he's really cute and I'd love to have him as a villager
Quetzal was inspired by Quetzalcoatl, the most famous and popular Aztecan god, despite all stories of him having been wiped from history - he was so important to the Aztecs, that they literally deemed it unnecessary to immortalize him in written form because "why would we ever stop talking about him". Almost all we know is that he was symbolized as a feathered snake. The eagle comes into play with a legend where the Aztecs were told by their gods to "look for an eagle with a snake in its mouth, standing on a cactus growing from a rock" and to build their new capital there. Hence, Quetzal is an eagle villager representing the crest found on the Mexican flag. Definitely bring him back for sure.

It would be cool if you gave makeovers to these villagers! Kinda like what you did with carrot, but you could tweek them so that they all are passable designs.
Splatoon characters and items should have came back to AC when Splatoon 3 came out
As for Legend of Zelda they should have brought those cross over villagers right away because every other AC game has had at least one Zelda item
Oh and the island themed villagers (all the villagers in the Hawaiian shirts/dresses) were villagers you could see on Kapp'n Island in the Game Cube version. You had to have a Gameboy Advanced and only one of those villagers would be there. They have used villagers from that set in laters games: Ankha, Annalise, Bliss/Caroline, Boomer, Bud, Dobie, Drift, Faith (recently), June, Maelle, O'Hare, Plucky and Rowan
And for e+: Charlise, Curlos, Frank, Harry, Julia, Kidd, Marina, Norma, Roswell (recently), Raddle and Violet
They should bring that back, it seems like a really cool idea

Shoujichi like Croque is based of a dharma doll and honestly needs to be brought back

Epona looks worse here then in game but is based of her n64 design
Medli is a Ruto in wind waker look more human then in other games

Villagers with creepy eyes are the BEST
New Horizons is an amazing game don't get me wrong... But I kinda miss Gamecube Animal Crossing's dialogue in characters and the personalities that shine through with their personality types! The only different between a gentle natured villager like Skye (Wolf) and a Jock Villager like Hamlet is just one type of conversation relating to their personalities and it's irritating.
I absolutely NEED drama and the NEED for villagers talking behind other's backs and being insulted by a purple emo pig like Sue-E! It's what made me WANT to reach developing milestones when I was literally 5. I was about to be 6 years old and didn't ever know how to really read. It took my parents being fed up of reading every line of text to get me to learn to read just so I can see what my animal friends were telling me. Animal Crossing has been a childhood favorite, playing for hours and hours when I was alone because my parents were mainly at work. Got me through so much and I'd be so happy to see villagers get that lost spark.
I played New Horizons a LOT during the first 6ish months, cycling it between Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX, Pokemon Sword, and whatever games I had at the time. But after getting to a point... the game lost it's spark. The only thing this game has in it for me right now is the fact Im building an all Wolf Island. (Currently sporting Chief, Skye, Audie, and Whitney right now. Looking for Fang, Freya, Lobo, Wolfgang, Dobie, Kyle, or Vivian. Just basically any of them that's available right now. Though REALLY seeking out Fang, Lobo, Wolfgang, Kyle, and Dobie. )

Not only that but you’re onto something when you said her eyes were scary and she had something wrong with her in general, since she’s actually the villain of a creepypasta based on wild world where she literally steals the protagonist’s left eye (story is by Chewbot).

I would just like to say that my friend’s favorite animal crossing villagers in Population Growing (og gamecube version) we’re Hank and Goose. Two chickens. I’m not sure why they did, but I’d like to point out that chicken lovers do exist
the reason there are Hawaiian or tropical themed villagers is because back in the first ac, kappn would take you to islands that had those villagers on them!
I agree on that definitiv that we need cultural diversity in animal crossing.
My idea for that are a german smug villager based of the german national animal a black eagle, a french or spain chicken villager which is either uchi or jock or both spain and french and both uchi and jock.

I can't accept how he ranked Filly an S tier yet ranked Epona an C tier, i got Epona on New Leaf and i adore her, she looks super cool. Belle also deserves justice, imo she is more cute than Tipper. Emerald looks pretty simple but there is something that makes me like her, she would also be S tier to me.

Yes. New Horizons villagers are too nice to even have opinions most of the time. This is especially a problem for the snooty villager. Dialogue wise I think that uchi villagers are the best, they're the most down to Earth. They have a temper sometimes but never get mad at you because you're their favorite!

In the Gamecube Animal Crossing game if you had an E-Reader and the needed cards (or an Action Replay) you could go to an island that would have special villagers. Some of them did come back as regular villagers, like Ankha. Who used to be one of my favorite villagers before the internet ruined her for me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who headcannoned champ and Porter as being the same person, the games that Porter was in champ never was, and the games champ was in Porter never was, new horizons being the exception of course
They have different birthdays but I like to think Champ is Porter's brother, who you can see driving the train in the original games and New Leaf

A lot of the "Island" themed villagers were found in the island in the original animal crossing (at least I'm pretty sure)! But really enjoyed this tier list and seeing some villagers I'd forgotten about!

As someone who obsesses with splatoon, the only good crossover villager for splatoon is Inkwell and I was really sad to learn he left.
I've played all splatoons and never fully dived into the story mode to know the sisters, but I would like to see some octopus villagers who rep the inklings (perhaps Marina makes the most sense, as she's an octoling). Also none of the Zelda ones should have left imho. They're so iconic and clever, and wouldn't it have been lovely if they were added to nh along with some the items, same way the mario stuff is in it. Such a missed opportunity. Could have even forced ppl to use their amiibo to get them like the sanario one

This is literally so random but I was watching this on my computer yesterday, got distracted and forgot. When I opened my computer for work just now, the pink splatoon villager was full screen and honestly that was the craziest jump scare I've ever had.

also about the cultural villagers, we got Tiansheng who's clearly Sun Wukong from Journey to the West (therefore Chinese), and Rio's name is a reference to Rio de Janeiro and her design is based off of Brazilian Carnaval but the India themed villagers should be brought back
Sherb always talks about his grandpa teaching him games and stories and more so I would but him in the bring him back too just to make my bestie happy.
Maybe I just like chicken villagers, but I LOVED Betty as a kid, I thought she was so nice. When I got Ava as a starting villager in New Leaf, I quickly grew to like her as well. I also adore Rhoda’s design. I’d like to see her back!!!
The villagers with aloha clothing were originally islanders, hence why they dress like that.

I feel the red bars below the eyes of that cut Eagle Villager, is meant to be a sort of tribal facepaint thing (I'm not certain of the exact terms of that thing, so, not gonna try and claim what it's actually called), as I think he's meant to replicate the tribal look of I think is called native Americans? Not surprising he was cut, Nintendo may had feared that him existing in the game might upset someone over racial stuff, as Nintendo is far from having ever did some bad racial stuff. They stereotyped a ton of kinds of people in Punch-out's arcade release for example. A ton of the enemies you fight in the arcade release of Punch-out, are stereotypical appearances and namings, of where supposedly those boxers' origins are from. I think Nintendo cut that Eagle villager as to not upset people over racial stereotypes.
I agree, if you check his fandom page (Quetzal) it mentions his name could reference a native Mexican bird, or a Native American Birdlike god of wisdom and wind, and his house is decorated with totem poles.

Quetzal is cool, he’s based on Central American mythology and unlike Leigh I don’t see anything in his design that couldn’t be changed without making him completely different.

Yes, kangaroos do have whiskers. Since kangaroos are mammals, they have hair. Whiskers are just longer, thicker and not very flexible hairs that are attached to sensitive cells in their skin 16:17
