I think plain simple villagers are great, it's not a bad thing that a villager has a simple design. If they all had wacky unique designs it'd become a bit of a headache. They provide a nice contrast with the crazy looking villagers. Look at Daisy for example, her whole vibe is "sleepy pastel dog" and her simplistic look suits her 100%

I cannot physically express in words how much I am in love with the ducks in this game. I know lots of people don't like them but I would genuinely die for them.

Honestly, out of all the Anteaters, my favorite's gotta be Antonio, as his design isn't one that makes him look hideous. After all, I believe he's meant to be modeled after an actual giant anteater. I also happen to like his Jock Personality quite a lot actually.

Watching this video made me realize there is some truth behind the saying "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder"; the Villagers you dragged were the ones I found to be the most visually appealing. Also, I'm not huge on Tigers but I think they have some of the most unique designs in the entire series. Rolf was one of the Neighbours I started out with on the original Population Growing game on GCN and I remember how striking his overall design looked compared to the other animals. I miss having him chew me out for wandering the woods in the middle of the night.

Personally it took me a while to warm up to Olaf the anteater, but when I designed a house for him in ACHHD, I started to notice that he looked a little like Michael Jackson and from that point on I just had this silly head canon that he was a Michael Jackson impersonator. I decorated his house so he had a stage along with a mic, and he had this huge walk-in closet with a bunch of MJ-esque clothing. I think I even recall making his catchphrase “Hee hee” when he came to my island in New Horizons 😂😂😂

I honestly love Olaf as a villager, he is one of my all time favorites since he has been my villager for 10 years in my first town and when he moved out, I literally stopped playing in this town, since all the others couldn't move out this way, and I was so surprised when hearing that people don't like him

Dude, I love Egbert, simply because he is the only villager that has had more than 25 questionable moments in half a year.
One thing I've noticed with about 45-50% of starter villagers (jock/sisterly), is that they look like a completely different personality type. Tybalt (one of my faves) is a Jock but looks like a Lazy or Cranky to me. Cranberra is also this way, looking more Snooty than Sisterly.
I have that with Dom. He looks like a lazy, but he's a jock.

Fun fact: Poppy the horse is based off of a real-life animal called an Okapi. They look like a hybrid of a zebra, deer, horse, and donkey.

Personally, I like the more boring villagers. Goldie, Beau, and Fauna are some of my top favorites just because of how sweet and simple they look. The more extravagant villagers are cool, and who doesn't love stand outs like Lucky and Pheobe, but I do like the sweetness of a "boring" villager.
I have Nan on my island Beau is based on a gazelle so not boring at all and if you love golden retrievers u can't go wrong with Goldie.
@solangemontenegro9848 Beau has a simple design though and his being an antelope is the only really "interesting" thing about him. He doesn't have anything complex or weird, he's just a lazy little guy
I can’t believe you called out my 2 favorite villagers that I would give my left knee for. Gonzo is a sweet deep voiced little koala and he is highly underrated. Same with Prince, he’s one of the funniest and silliest villagers in animal crossing. I’m appalled

Honestly I really disagree with the penguins, a lot of them have really unique designs which fit their themes and I’m kinda sad they didn’t rank higher.
I have Aurora and Chadwick on my island and they're both adorable 2 of my favorite villagers! 🐧

Etiole is my absolute Favorite she is so cute! And her Voice is just adorable 😭😭and I love how her face kinda just sticks out
On the gorillas. I adore Boone. I didn't like him at first, he was one of my starting villagers, but he grew on me and now he's in the number 1 slot for "villagers I'll never get rid of" because of how things have unfolded for him on my island. Him and Flurry seem to be best friends in get in arguements a lot. The first time they did was the turning point for Boone with me. Flurry felt bad so she asked me to take him a gift. What did this girl give this jocky boy? A pink dress. He was over the fucking moon about it too. He loves that dress. Was happy to get it and like a year later he still frequently wears it. Flurry has given him other "girly" gifts and he loves them everytime while frequently commenting that he doesn't like or doesn't know if he can pull off the more sports themed gifts I've given him. So I have it in my head that he's this muscle head that also has a very feminine soft side. I love it.
On the horses though I must firmly disagree with Colton. Omg he is the only villager that I have ever gotten that I viscerally hated and had to yeet IMMEDIATELY!!! Papi is underrated though and is one of my favorite villager designs because he is based on one of my favorite animals, the Okapi.
Limberg will be forever my fave. I’ve had him in every major town/island randomly since I was around 8 and I think that means the universe wants us to be besties

Sydney is super sweet and her home is adorable. Gonzo imo is kinda cute and Lyman is cute too once you get used to him.

My daughter has Lyman on her island. He was one if her starters I think. She was very disappointed at first, but he grew on her fast & now she won't get rid of him. I have to admit, I love him too. He reminds me of Dustin Hoffman lol.

I honestly find it kind of sad that it's a thing in the AC community to just label villagers that you don't like the look of as "ugly". It feels cruel lol. Like I know they aren't real and don't have feelings but when playing they are part of the world. They have a personality. They can't help what they look like. The "ugliness" is part of the charm. They are designed to look a certain way. It's up to the player to make what they look like come to life by giving them a backstory. I always love to have a unique or "ugly" looking villager that nobody else would want on my island.
A good example of this would be Frett the dog. He has massive eyebrows and looks constantly startled but he just gives me such endearing grandpa vibes. I just want to take care of him lol.
And then I have a soft spot for Ed the horse. He looks like a gay emo that can't figure out who he is but knows exactly who is he at the same time. He was the first villager to ever give me his photo when I played New Leaf so I just have a soft spot for him. It's like he's my oldest friend despite what he looks like.
And I think Flo the penguin is pretty forgettable as a villager at first glance but she was my starter villager for New Horizons and she was the only villager that would sing. I had her on my island for months and even though she kind of has an attitude as she is a big sister personality villager, I grew to love her for it.
The only villager i hate is Monique. It looks like shes bullying me and laughing at my face, and her face jumpscares me
Freckles design has always looked so cute to me! She’s so sweet and just wants to be a pop star but also loves fishing. She might be at the bottom for you but she’ll always be best duck 💛

I got Boone as my jock starter and honestly, he grew on me A LOT. Now I don't get why people take one look at him, and immediately hate him, and now I realise he isn't that bad. His jock personality totally makes sense. He gives me more of a "big brother" vibe than a "weirdo" vibe. I also love his colour palette.
How can you not mention that Rooney is a boxer themed, and kangaroos are often associated with that theme. It's such a fun and smart design for a kangaroo.
I'm so glad you gave Moe some recognition because he's my favourite villager and I see other big AC CZcamsrs throwing shade at him
i once saw a captioned photo with Freckles that said "its giving going into my parents room at 2 am to tell them i threw up" and let me just say that that is the most accurate description of a villager i have ever heard.

I'm sorry in advance, I feel like I have to say this.. Deirdre was actually one out of very few animal crosser's that are like a best friend to me, Although she may look weird in NL I feel she looked better in NL, She's one of my neighbors that I dearly adore (No pun intended) and was, indeed, a close friend😭 Along with that, Caroline is another villager that I have a vast amount of love for, She is a REALLY kind and easily a lovable villager. She, Of course, Is another villager who is like a friend to me. And don't get me started on Lily, She is my all time FAVORITE! She has a lovely temperament, Sweet, Mild, Kind and all in all, a very friendly villager. I also have to admit, she also looks very cute.

Graham was in my town in New Leaf, and when I saw someone had him in boxes, I couldn't resist but get him! I think his nerdy vibe is adorable, especially when you give him glasses and you can actually see his cute tiny eyes!

personally, i hated having limberg as my new villager when he moved in, i constantly avoided him until i gave him a shot and now i love him. he gives retired old man vibes and his house is very simple but it suits him :,)
i had to restart my island, and i just went through this with limberg
I had the same experience with Limberg in New Leaf. I wasn't crazy about him, but then I heard Markiplier had a memory of his dad that was associated with Limburg cheese and I decided "Ugh, maybe I'll give him a shot because of that". Now I adore him and he's such a sweet bean, he always checks on me when I'm up late. I would keep him as long as he wants to stay :)
Fun fact: Scoot is one of the two villagers that were with me at the start of my Animal crossing new horizons journey and he's still in my island to this day. Cause I'll be honest he's a good buddy who is really into fitness.
Sad that you don't like him as much but I'm glad this list is honest.

Honestly i love bruce the deer. His chill vibe along with his aweseom house goes really well with the city vibe i am going for. Also his "old biker gang leader" esk personality really makes me love him.

I have Bubbles in my Village and I honestly grew onto her, plus with the clothes I give her, she's not so bad. But hey, everyone has their own cup of tea so I won't get upset if its his opinion
Patty is my most favorite villager ever :) At first I was pretty disappointed when she moved in too, because I didnt get one of those popular villagers but she grew on me fast. Later I bought her amiibo and invited her to my town in NL too.

my fave animal crossing character is rolf because he is like a grumpy old guy who warms up to you and you make friends with him and its just heartwarming to me

Of course, I didn’t agree with all your opinions, but you justified your reasoning seriously well which was greatly appreciated. Cleanly put together and was a very entertaining watch, underrated.

I’m surprised I agree with most of your choices. I normally don’t really get some of the hated villagers I actually like. The “ugly” villagers always have a place in my heart, as I find them endearing. (Why do you hate Scoot?!)
I certainly don't hate him, just don't care for his design and helmet!

Bit disappointed to see my two favourite species (koalas and anteaters) as being hated. My favourite species will always be the koalas, however I understand everyone has their own opinions! 😊👍

Personally I love Bones, his catchphrase and physical design are both from a couple of my favorite childhood tv shows. Yip yip from avatar, and he looks a lot like the dog from Wishbone.

I'm currently trying to get one of every villager to visit (Haven't had a Deer or Duck yet). My favorites so far have been Anabelle (bought her Amiibo card), Tammi, Lily, Tia, Merry, Kiki, Lolly, Walker, and Flurry. Kyle is my worst. Took forever to leave. I also don't really care for any of the Snooty/Crankys that don't emote back. I can't wait to see who comes to my island next!

I appreciated your effort to create such a visually entertaining ranking video. It must have been a lot of work to gradually bring in all the villagers (well, almost since we will have some new ones coming after 11/5. Plus I agree with your ranking of Truffles as the worse pig.

My all time favorite villager is Beau 🥰 and yes! A fellow cat person! I have a kitty named Nala and a rabbit named Evelyn 😄 I actually just got Mitzi to move to my island!

i JUST got New Horizons, which is my first Animal Crossing game (I was more of a legend of Zelda kid when I had a ds)! I started off with Mira and Tybalt and I absolutely LOVE them. Mira is a constant comfort on my island; I can always find her doing something cute… and she calls me Cottontail! Tybalt is the best! I like to think of him as a himbo with how little he knows.
I know next to nothing about the game, so it’s taken me about a few months to figure I needed a campsite to continue with finding new villagers for my island… 😅
If I were to chose out of all the villagers....my favorite is absolutely Goldie. Goldie is the most cutest dog villager n my opinion, and I love her normal personality also her sense of style. My second favorite has to be Cherry I absolutely love her emo look.
I just don't like how Cherry's mouth is to the side, but otherwise she's really cool
