RIK EMMETT talks new "DIAMONDS" compilation, TRIUMPH, solo work, Yngwie, future plans, US festival

  • Welcome to Episode #96 of the Rock Interview Series. For this episode, iconic guitarist/singer/songwriter Rik Emmett is the featured guest. Rik was a member of the multiplatinum selling power trio TRIUMPH from 1975-1988. While with TRIUMPH, Rik wrote some of the band's biggest hits including: "Hold On." Lay It on The Line," Magic Power," "Fight the Good Fight" and "Somebody's Out There."
    After Rik decided to leave the TRIUMPH, he established himself as a solo artist, releasing his first solo record "ABSOLUTELY" in 1990.
    During this exclusive interview, Rik talks about his new release "Diamonds: The Best of the Hard Rock Years 1990-1995." This is a compilation record that consists of remastered tracks from Rik's first 3 solo studio records. In addition, Rik also discusses his time in TRIUMPH, the US Festival, having Yngwie Malmsteen open for TRIUMPH, his solo career, and future plans.
