I ended up destroying 3 CD cases after I got cracks however I tried and the shop guy asked "why are you buying our old stock cds when you can have flash drives?". "To make holograms, duh."
ahahahaahahahhahahahah
Pro tip: Unless you need to have people viewing from 4 directions, this is a.needless arts and crafts challenge. Only the surface facing the viewer is necessary!
You can simply prop up the clear plastic lid at 45 degrees along one edge. Then use ANY animation with a black background.
BOOM! You now have the same "hologram" effect at 4 times the size. You're welcome.
The optical trick at play here is known as Pepper's Ghost and was used by magicians over 100 years ago to create the illusion of a ghostly figure on stage.

@@jolyy14 it is not a specific application. Any video with a black background will work. The maker of the video states this several times in replies to others with the same question.
Wonder if this would work scaled up so that each facet of the holo viewing area was ... say ... 5 feet tall. It'd take a lot of floor space and computing power - but could you imagine that for gaming or just watching movies (filmed specifically for such use).
Look up Hatsune Miku live show or something like that, it’s essentially what they do to make dancing holograms 😊

I think if one uses crystal instead of plastic ( ok , it is harder to be made ) the results will be truly awesome due to the higher degree of transparency achieved ... I will do it with glass crystal and will update ...
