I have to be honest and say, I really like this guys videos. Not arrogant (and could be given his clear wealth) and has a clear love for watches and horology. Seems like the type of guy I’d love to have a coffee and chew the fat about watches with.
I have a 5170p, and to be honest is my all time favorite, every time I look at my wrist I can’t get enough of the view. The astonishing blue dial, the baguette diamonds, the perfect proportion. I love this watch like no other in my collection, neither the 1518 is so perfect, the only that eventually I can change with that is the 5170p Tiffany. I’m so obsessed with this particular model, that i have bought 5 leather strap from Patek because i use it almost every day along with the Rolex 6239, with only the chronograph sign on the dial and without the Daytona one’s. Love your collection.
Nobody does it like Patek it's that simple! I would wear that everyday I would go everywhere in it beautiful piece and my personal favourite so far on the channel

You’re not alone getting a bit of buyers remorse moving up into complications and grand complications - long term it’s like money in the bank

This one is so cool because on first glance apart from being a Patek it looks fairly ordinary, then you take a second look and notice the diamonds, then learn about it being platinum, and all of a sudden you think, wow! Brave to spend this kind of money, and I understand your doubt, But think you are right that it’s very special and worth keeping not just for future potential appreciation. Thumbs up!
Judging by the other, historical, Petek chronographs you showed on this informative video, that is by far the most beautiful! God only knows why they ceased production after only two years!
You’ve had this beautiful £75k watch all this time & you’re only showing it to us now!?! I love the blue dial & the diamonds are just class, not brash at all. What else haven’t you shown us?
I suspect Damian actually has a _quite a few_ high-complication Pateks from Franses of Bournemouth!? (Remember, when he phoned to enquire about 5711 availability, they "discovered" that they had one un-allocated and sold it to him right there the same day! You don't get this level of preferment unless you've spent a million or more in an AD...methinks...)

Brilliant review as always however I much prefer the 5070P to the 5170P. The wrist presence is far superior with the 5070P and makes the 5170P feel almost too feminine to me especially with the diamond hour markers. The 5070P has a vintage inspired dial and better mechanical feel that makes it a far more interesting ownership experience to me and a watch that I will never sell.
BTW I had to smile when Damian said he was p+ssed off by someone trying to haggle over price. When Damian is _the one doing the buying,_ does he just stump up the asking without any negotiation, I wonder? If not, why the double standards? ;-) EDIT In fairness, if he was offering it for a genuinely very fair and reasonable price then I can see why he wouldn't have had any truck with last minute low-ball offers.
I’m guessing price had already been largely negotiated before the meet to reach ‘price below list’ but the potential buyer pulled a stunt at the 11th hr.
I really enjoy your videos but in this case you sound a little confused. You say this watch is highly looked after but you weren't able to sell it. You also say you are glad it didn't sell but it sounds like you really want to sell it.
The watch is highly sought after now (because it was discontinued) but it wasn't then, hence it didn't sell. I initially worried about the cost, but now I've gotten over that.

My first watch was a Heuer two dial chronograph. I love that dial format, your Patek will definitely become a classic, you did well not to sell it.

The 5170 is real beauty and very under rated , but in my opinion the gold version is much better looking.
You were meant to own the 5170P. You’re right about the dial - the blue…and the use of diamonds is actually really tasteful! Wear it in good health!
