It is very fun to see them barely fly when soaked wet, but they can, barely. Our birds are free-flying inhouse and caged at night of free will. It is a delight to bath them.
We used to use a spray bottle on ours. She'd just go nuts, spread her wings, pitch forward and back, twist this way and that. Then when she had enough she'd squawk, run away to her spot on top of the fridge and start to preen.
Cool! Our previous birds were exactly the same. Bolle is different. Bolle is extremely afraid of pump sprays. It ssems he doesn't want to give away control. Oh well, I'm not going to force him. He can bathe how he wants, whenever he wants and where he wants. The result is in the video. ;-)
Your Bolle is adorable. I love how he gets close to the water and starts to spread his wings. Probably feels a couple drops from the splash and then slowly shuffles forward until he's under the stream and just goes to work. I've always loved Cockatiels. They have such personality in such a small package.
Fuzzyscarfandmittens my Catalina does that, only we never spray her enough to get tired of it, because we use a spray that has a lot of oils and stuff that’s good for the feathers and the skin, and she loves it.
This little bird is so sweet and special. Timid at first( as is my cockatiel) and...absolutely loving the bath. So very joyful to watch. ❤ Y our bird is very happy and healthy looking. ❤
I was spraying my cockatiel down for the first time and he did this.. freaked me out a little worried about seizures but I realized he only did it when I started spraying but just in case I looked up this vid. Glad I did.. and he was just enjoying his bath.
Great video, thanks. My cockatiel is worse or better at this depending on his point of view. He’ll be on my shoulder, I’ll run the tap like you have or maybe just a touch slower as he won’t go near it if the water is too much. He’ll climb down to my lower arm IF he’s interested then very cautiously take one or maybe even two sips after slowly stepping closer to the water which is now dripping on the back of my hand. Then he steps back to the back of my wrist and starts what I call the shower dance. The only water that gets on him is "accidental" splashes from my hand or when he stretches a wing out and it accidentally goes under the dripping water. I call this the Dry Shower method. He’s a very strange and lovable character who does only what he wants to do.
The problem with free flying Cockatiels, is that their droppings makes a great problem. It can be quite hard to clean out. Also they tend to gnaw and nibble on everything. Flap, flap, landing on your shoulder , seeking your mouth or hand for food is nice though.
When my budgie takes baths, he hates this way, AND he hates just sitting in a tub of water. The only thing he lets m do, is spray the inside of a cup with water and spray him while he....shoves his head in he cup and rolls around. 😐 I DONT UNDERSTAND
the best way i can make my birb bathing is put him on the shoulder while washing dishes, when im finishing he justs wants to get down in the sink and start getting closer, then he ends up like this:
We let our cockatiels do this as needed and they are very old :) It is called "bada" in Swedish or bathing in English. The English place of Bath may say something about it.
My bird never did like this, all I have to do is forcefully bathe her by spraying. Whenever I keep the tap opened for her to bathe she runs away from it. What should I do to make her to bathe on her own?😟
Never force her, she will always remain afraid if you force her. Just let the water run for a while if she is close, if she starts bathing it's fine.,If she does not start bathing, that's fine too. Perhaps next time she will feel more comfortable.
Twinkling Star they don’t necessarily need to bathe unless they get really dirty, or if their feathers start looking bad. I only have to spray mine occasionally, and sometimes extra because she likes it.
I think that's the most important thing, some birds like it and some just don't. We had another cockatiel years ago and he basically wanted to bathe every day. Our current cockatiel hardly ever wants to bathe. Both are fine for me, as long as they are happy.
bath with your cockatiel just do that put her on a side of you bath that you know some tiny water drops come. then put warm water, bath your self like real bathing but not with shampoo just bath with warm water on you and the cockatiel should see you bathing and then she will open her wings and start enjoying the tiny water drops dripping near her.
We sometimes do something similar with our hand. He tends to become afraid when he is not in control of the water anymore, so we just let him be when he decides to bathe. It takes a bit longer, but he seems satisfied. He bathes very rarely, but he does seem to enjoy it.
The water is cold! Normally he never ever takes a bath, he just wants to drink a few sips from the tap and then continues eating. That's why I only turned on the cold water. When we're showering ourselves (with warm water obviously) he sometimes is curious, but he refuses to come anywhere near the water from the showerhead. He sometimes does drink or even bath a little bit in the water that ends up on the floor. He's a crazy little bird...
The water was running really slow on purpose. By doing it this way, he has full control on how wet he will be. He can really take the bath at his own pace. I think that's the way to do it. But that's just my own opinion.
I am glad to see that you know my bird better than I do... In fact, my bird is afraid of plates with water, I have tried. What you see here, is what he is most comfortable with. I only do what my bird is comfortable with and not what some stranger on internet tells me to do. Thank you.
redbutterflynine You make it sound like the owner is torturing his bird. Obviously this is not how you wanted your sentence to be interpreted. I suggest you learn how to write first because it makes your English skills look very low.

hes like.... My mind is telling me NOOOOOO but my body!!!!! its telling me YESSSSSS!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂 The struggle is real here
Underrated comment 😆😆
I died watching him prepare to "Dive in"!
I know, it took a while but finally he went for the full soaking.
Love him trying to get wet while nowhere near the water
It is very fun to see them barely fly when soaked wet, but they can, barely. Our birds are free-flying inhouse and caged at night of free will. It is a delight to bath them.
It is very fun to see them flying, heavy in water. Flap Flap.
Me when I'm waiting for the shower to get warm.
They're just so cute! Everything they do is cute!

I think he's broken. Try putting him in rice
Just kidding, cute birb!
Haha! Thanks.

❤ Y our bird is very happy and healthy looking. ❤
Very cute. I love my 3 cockatiels and watching their behavior and antics.
Confucius says 'A wet bird never flies at night'?
That is sooo cute he is so cautious at first and then he just enjoys it
Yeah, he first had to gather some courage!
I was spraying my cockatiel down for the first time and he did this.. freaked me out a little worried about seizures but I realized he only did it when I started spraying but just in case I looked up this vid. Glad I did.. and he was just enjoying his bath.
Looks like a bird type of pikachu

Haha! So cute! Awesome video loved the long unedited format was perfect for this. Bolle is hilarious lol

i love bolle :) my boys love listening to him i love it when he puts his wings up so sweet
Thanks!
I can't stop laughing! My eyes are watering and my stomach hurts. Thanks!
If you showed me this video without any context I would think he was dying. What a strange way to bathe.
Cute cockatiel 😍
He looks funny at the start of the video, trying to catch water 😂
Yeah, he was a bit afraid in the beginning!
So sweet, mine hates water more as every cat on earth
Our cockatiel Sammy does that too, he even recognizes the word drink and the word bath. He drinks from the dribble and then takes a 'shower' too. LOL
Cool! It's amazing to see them go completely crazy over water.
Вот чистюля пёстренький!🤗😘😘❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a cute boy bird awwwww!
Awwww yours loves water . Mine she just doesn’t really to much . So sweet to see 🥰

Adorable la perruche. Un vrai amour d'oiseau.

Awwww love him.... he’s a clean freak😘😘😘😍
Yeah, he really went for it!
It's so interesting. My bird likes bath time, too.
They do this to get rid of feather-dust and skin-dust.
the best way i can make my birb bathing is put him on the shoulder while washing dishes, when im finishing he justs wants to get down in the sink and start getting closer, then he ends up like this:

OH MY GOD IT LOOKS SO CUTE!!!!!
Thanks!
Joost your welcome
So 🥰🥰❤️❣️🥰😍
this is satisfying =)
Couldn't you make it easier for him to have a bath? It's a kind of effort like this
He doesn't bathe very often either, mostly he takes a few sips and then walks away from the water.
die vleugeltjes ook.... TE schattig :)
Ja, hij is inderdaad enorm grappig!
mine does the same thing
it's too close to the eddgeee! Give him more room!
Cute
This is exactly what my bird does
What a spaz, hahaha!

Try bath her in cage
bath with your cockatiel just do that
put her on a side of you bath that you know some tiny water drops come. then put warm water, bath your self like real bathing but not with shampoo just bath with warm water on you and the cockatiel should see you bathing and then she will open her wings and start enjoying the tiny water drops dripping near her.
MAŞALLAH ALLAHIM SAĞLIK VERSİN İNŞALLAH :) BİZ DE VARDA UYANIK KAÇIYOR HEMEN
Wow 😮 he really love ❤️ the 💦 beautiful bird
you didnt know how to type water?
He's breakdancing.
AW!!!!!!!!!
One thing I do with my cockatiels is use a toothbrush under the water and spray some water with it by bending the hair.

it looks like it's having a seizure
Nah, he's just a weird little bird! 😂
@@Zwelgje76 just showered mine today, he did the same thing lol
Omgoodness, I kind of felt sorry for it struggling so hard to grasp enough water to cover it's feathers. Too little water at a time, I think.
The water was running really slow on purpose. By doing it this way, he has full control on how wet he will be. He can really take the bath at his own pace. I think that's the way to do it. But that's just my own opinion.
Water is a little close to the edge, he would have liked it better if it were further over the flat area I think.
Please wash me, but dont make me wet! 😊
*takes bath
It’s a shower
She acts like he's getting sprayed yet he does not receive any water
Yeah, but he does get a little bit eventually. He ends up soaking wet!
he looks like my popeye :D
Yeah, I love this wildtype color. The variations can look nice, but I actually prefer the grey with the vibrant colors of the wildtype ones.
Cutty bird
The thumbnail though.
It's an action pic!

I thought dogs didn't like baths.
Dogs? I'll teach him how to bark!
He doesn't already? 😂
I would have to teach him. I don't see myself barking at my bird for hours... :D
quite a funny sight if I do say so myself👌👌
Ha! Maybe he's actually a cat:)

Get a large bowl of water by the sink for the poor thing to jump into. You can see that's what he wants
I am glad to see that you know my bird better than I do...

Why don't you just let the bird take an actual bath?

Twinkling Star have you tried filling a large dish with some water for her to bathe in?
