    God has put it on my heart to work with the land and what it has to offer me. I live in southeast Kentucky, and we have much plantain, jewelweed, kudzu, japanese knotweed, and all kinds of goodies. As I learn to work with these plant helpers, I grow more fascinated and in love with God. I am just in awe of the Creator's wisdom! Thank you for sharing and teaching me how to work with these plants.

      I also used to do Native American bead and quill work before I had children, but I never did too much with the quills because I couldn't find any good books at the time. Wow! I am definitely subbing to your channel. Thank you so much!

    Thank you for sharing! What temp do you keep your crock pot on while cooking it down?

    Hi. I’m hoping you see this as I have a question. I have made salves for several months now, and some people dry it vs using fresh. What do you prefer? Also, I used my crockpot with a large glass of my products in it, and hot water as a double boiler. Is your method better by direct heat in crockpot? And was it on low or high, for how many hours?
    I’m excited to make a combo salve again, as that was my first batch I made, this spring, from dried plant materials.
    Thank you

    Did you use a electric blender to whip it or just by hand? Thx!

    Hi Linda. Am beginner. Thought herbs were supposed to be dry. Since you used fresh, do salves need to be refrigerated? Looking forward to used jewelweed.

      You use fresh herbs when making an infusion. No you don’t have to refrigerate. The bees wax seems to keep it preserved well. I have some in my bathroom that is years old and never molded. Have fun.

    Hi Linda, just wondering roughly what the Jewelweed to Plantain ratio is that you used for this recipe?

    Hello, I made this salve (minus plaintains) yesterday, but it has separated. How can I fix it? Also, there is a little bit of orangeish fluid in my containers, any idea what that is?

    • @lindapritchard5854
      @lindapritchard5854  Před 7 lety +1

      J Smoak I would spoon it out of the jars and beat it with a fork or mixer. That should fix your separation problem unless there is some water in the mixture. Also it sounds like there was some moisture in your cans you put the salve in causing some rust in the mix. I don't thing it will hurt anything.

      I have no experience with other herbs so I can’t say how it would turn out.

    This lady doesn't show anything. I know just as much about making this as before I watched it which is none at all.... She does everything off camera and just explains what she did... Write a blog instead of wasting your time making useless videos. Show us how to get the plants ready in the crockpot. Show us how much oil and how to put it in. Show us how to actually start smashing the plants into the oil ... It's a video.... Show us how to do it. And what did you mean by whipping it? Did you use an electric mixer to whip it up ... Show us how to do it. I have never seen that done before and I'm not entirely sure what you meant.... Just put your camera on a tripod and video what you do so we can see it.
