  • We'll be doing a light restomod on this car in this series. We will swap out the 6 for a Windsor V8, add disc brakes, upgrade the suspension and change to 5 lug wheels. The interior will be completely redone but the exterior will remain 'shabby chic'.

I had two Falcons, a 63 Futura Convertible, and a 68 two door coupe. The 68 was very basic but did have power steering, a 289 V8, and a dealer added Ford under the dash mounted Air Conditioner. It's one of my favorite cars that I owned. The 63 was the first car I had in high school. It had a 170 ci inline 6 with a three on the tree manual transmission. I like Falcons my family members have owned them, too. Both my dad and uncle bought them when they were first introduced in the fall of 1959. My uncle later bought a 61 wagon for a second car he could use for a side painting business he started with a friend. Falcons were great cars!

I owned a ‘66 Falcon in high school in the 80’s. Black inside and out. I loved that car. It had four doors which seems to be rare.

4 doors aren't well loved. They aren't regarded as 'sexy'. You can find them for probably half the price of a 2 door.

I really like the Falcons. It's no wonder the Falcon sold so well back in the day. While I'd take any body style my favorite is the 64/65 and then the 66/67 would be my second choice..they still had the round tail lights.

Nice find especially on the east coast. This one seems to have avoided salted roads for the most part. I like the clean lines of this 66 and like you I like the Mustang but like Camaro every one has one.

My 1st car was a 66 falcon futura. Had it till I went into the Army after graduating High School.. Yellow with a black roof. I'll definitely be keeping up with this restoration!!!!!!

The upside is they are easy to work on. If you haven't, check out Ellie's Garage channel. She started restoring a slightly older one when she was 15 and it's turning out great.

Ive just discovered your channel and will definitely will be following with interest. I have a 1967 Futura sports coupe and totally agree the challenge to find parts is very real. Mechanical parts are easy but body and trim parts especially as a lot of them are one year only is going to test your patience . The best of luck!

Wow that is a nice, rare find! Not too many of them left. The Falcon Futura model was very well appointed for an economy car of that time. The base Falcon was, well, bland. How does it run? Nice color too, and it even has matching interior. You never see that anymore.

Like crap, which is why you didn't hear it in the video, LOL. The broken manifold is LOUD and the carb is dumping fuel.

I'm new to this and subscribed! I own a 1967 Falcon since 2017, and have not done anything with it. I'd love to learn from an untrained unprofessional owner! lol!

I beg to differ on #Cleveland popularity! They have become a lot more popular with promotion from channels such as Dragboss Garage and the intl #Falcon community! The shock towers might have clearance challenges with headers if you ran a Cleveland. A #351W will have decent room if you want to step up from a 302W

Very nice car. Watching this a year later. If you run gas w/ ethanol in it, recommend you route the heater hoses away from carb. On my 65, it would start hard and run poorly because the ethanol boils in the card.

Does the driver window operate at all? The regulator may be missing some gear teeth. The driver regulator is the one that always wears out, for obvious reasons - usually broken gear teeth get jammed in the works. Just start looking now.

@@mongrelmotorsports Those are stock rimes and dog dish that came from Ford? On my 67 i was wanting to go up a size to 15 inch rims. Have you ever tried a set of15's on yours? I just don't want to rub on the front fenders when making quick sharp turns. Your other videos are very informative, thanks!

15's will be coming eventually. Lots of people have done it. You can also check with Fairlane owners of the same vintage to see what fits. Same clearances.

I see the resemblance. Mustang rear side veiws. Mustang inspired. I love all old Ford's. Just not into mustangs. None of em. Exotic Ford's but no rustangs for me. Torino and comet and falcon and fairlane ect ect just not mustangs of any year
