Well it turned out pretty good! What do you guys think?
just wahoo....! I'm French and everytime I saw one of your video, I'm just estonished about all of the details and the realism of your work. My favourite citybuilders :D
Magnifique..!!
Magnific..!!
It looks really good ! It's lot's of work for sure, congratulations ;)
Amazing
I think one of the most distinguishing parts of the Louvre is how crooked it is. You did a great job making yours look different just by straightening it up.
The triangles are fountains, there is water in normal conditions but idk why it didnt work on Google earth
Oh snap! Thanks for that. I did not see even water in the pics I found.
My guess is that the Google maps version of the Louvre has a lot of construction going on. Ie no fountains working, road into underground garage full of material, the area at 24:00 seem to be worker buildings (you called them AC units).
11:42 These bollards were added after the attacks in Paris. To prevent trucks from entering open spaces.
oh. it makes sense. thanks for sharing
All bollards are designed to do that. In fact, trash cans, benches, parking meters, all serve the same purpose
Death B. Grapes and trees as well, but all these are more to protect pedestrians from car crashes and accidents, since they are more spaced apart. Its easy to drive between them if you go slowly, but if you drive fast and lose control it is more likely that you will crash into the trees, benches etc rather than hitting pedestrian walking behind them, since you will go off the road diagonal
Blanco That's the point. No attacker would drive at a slow speed, it's counterintuitive.
Fun fact, the roundabout in the middle od the Louvre crossing road feates an inverted pyramid for the underground Louvre shopping mall.
If you look closely to the Google map pictures, the tunnels of the Guichets du Louvre, on the Rivoli stree side are not obliques. The road is bent to prevent that. Fun fact, before 1870, the city of Paris was extending inside the Louvre and the little garden between the guichets road and the real Tuileries gardens didn't exist. When the Tuileries palace (closing the whole Louvre area between the end of the two wings) burnt in 1871 at the end of the Second Empire period, the small district was also demolished and left space for the little gardens.
The sand and gravel ground near the Carousel arch is reflecting the sun quite a lot hence its whiteness on the photos.
The stairs near the statue not only leads to the shopping mall and undergound museum entrance (and metro) but also leads you to the remains of the old medieval Paris wall which the Louvre castle was one of the gates.
The sunken area around the square courtyard is the the emplacement of the old mediaval main castle moat. The courtyard is where the main keep used to be.
The Ac Units you were talking about look like little sheds used during construction. Like the site office etc.
Love this! It looks like the real thing. I really like how you explain your design choices and reasoning.
I absolutely Louvre it !
Great job man
Haha I see what you did there :)))
Cheers bud!
It turned out perfectly! 👏😍
I live in France and this is sooo realistic !
The tunnel is left-hand driving because Rue de Rivoli is a one-way road and Quai des Tuileries as well so to avoid cars to cross each other’s route they did that.
Aaaa right. It makes more sense now.
Skibitth and as you said there is a parking space as well.
The staircase leading to nowhere is actually leading to the mall, the museum and metro under the plaza and the triangle shapes are fountains but they don’t work for years now
Skibitth and the wavy shape you didn’t know if it’s was definitive is the new islamic art section of the museum
@@rafaelcharpentier9023 There are usually one or two of the fountains that work, but some indeed I cant remember the last time I saw them working. Haha.
Another awesome Video. It always amazes me how easy you handle these POs :)
I love the way you use PO for this build.
Great job skib. Attention to detail is flawless.
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing, as always. Loved it!
What you are calling AC unit in the moat, are in fact the construction office for the renovation of the Denon and Sully aisle. It will be removed at the end. But nevertheless great work!
I only regret you did not do the interiors arcades of the Louvre where I fell in love for the first time... ^^ It's a joke ! You did an awesome work, really beautifull and inspiring. Thank you !
Your attention to detail is admirable. This is such a great build, well done!
Some Cities: Skylines builders on CZcams are able to reach a level of realism that blows my mind. I can tell because, for a split second, I thought the opening was real life camera footage.
Adding: I think the concrete things at 8:49 are fountains and pools, but they seem to be empty at the time the Google people streetviewed that place.
Jar-dan day Twheel-er-ee -- don't worry good old wonky French pronunciation. :D Figured I'd share for future reference. Love watching you build, mate.
This is a fantastic recreation. I really enjoyed this video. Great job!
This is insane. Awesome build! ☺️
A northern style village would be cool outside of the city
outstanding build and detailing.
Nice construction
Magnifique!
i'm french and i love that it so ... WOUA !!!
In 6:16 is the islamic art exhibition.
Do you use google earth's historical imagery tool? you can go back to like the 90s depending on where you are looking and usually get multiple shots a year from the past few years
Oh. Is that a thing? I had no idea. Thanks
@@Skibitth you will regret having not used it sooner 😀
amazing job ! loved it !
ur a god bro insane how patiently u are i do that on one district and the rest i rush:D
👍
You did a crazy good job Skib! 🙌🏼 - I’m still wishing for a London build from you 😀
Thanks. Haha who knows. Maybe at a point 😊
Skibitth 😀 that would be interesting to see how you tackle it’s size. You have the ever expanding Canary Wharf in the east docklands which is starting to look like a mini Chicago with the skyscrapers between the water ways, you have the city (square mile) cluster opposite ‘the shard’ and then to the west most of the main landmarks and shopping areas. Great city for doing both historic builds and new high rise. Beast of a project mind you..
Hey @skib, quick question. On the concrete brush mode, do you have a mod that makes the concrete paint brush more detailed? My brush looks so flat when I lay it down that I have to use crack decals etc?
@@ARW.7 yeah. I am using the concrete form Euro 4k map theme made by PDelmo
Skibitth great thanks - hopefully my PC doesn’t explode trying it but will give it a go 👍🏻
praise the god of cities skylines
Great work man!
beautiful as always
AMAZING!!!!! 🇫🇷
You know that if you wanted you could create any colour of the gravel texture with PO right? I mean like having many different colours of the gravel texture, same for asphalt
I've been trying to find those cube trees to no luck! Anyone know what they are called on the workshop?
The audio is a bit choppy at the four minute mark. It might be my audio but I'm not sure.
Круто , good
You're great!!! I want to buy a new computer and I would like to know what type of computer you have, processor, ram memory, etc ... Especially so that the computer works so well and being able to download many assets and mods, thank you very much.
I have my PC config at the ABOUT tab on my channel.
Waw just so beautiful
What is the map theme used in this series??
I am sharing the map theme settings and LUT settings only on my Patreon account. Sorry.
SO PERFECT. YOU MAKE ISTANBUL / GALATA TOWER ? PLEASE
pretty sure those stairs at the end lead down into the weird mall thats under the park
thanks for sharing!
Yes that's what they are. It leads down to the Carrousel du Louvre which is a mall with an inverted glass Pyramid (which is just below the roundabout). Also leads to the Museum and the Metro.
Hey skib, did you get affected by Crisgames's removal from the workshop?
No. I never used his assets.
@@Skibitth I see. Just wondered since he was making lots of european stuff. Such a disappointment that he removed them, I really wanted some of his vehicles
#boycotfrance
Do london or berlin not paris
Bro the series is literally called Little France. If you don't like it, watch something else.
@@redswanmusic3627 i didnt asked you mr patriotic
Why is that? This is a French series, not a German or English series.
@@deathbygrapes5 because of french goverment. They support war between turkey and greece. Also they trying to colonise africa in 2020.
mUzLu PoPkEk Remember that French government does not equal France.
