Unfortunately I don't have many friends that watch MMA because apparently it's a requirement to be homophobic and occasionally racist to watch it. Its normal in South Africa for Dads especially of sportsmen to kiss their sons. We are a very tough nation. Our lives are not easy so we have become resiliant. Look at our Rugby teams. Family is still a unit in most home a lot of the traditional homes, dads are invovled in the kids sports and dreams. We work hard and we play hard. Sports especially plays a role in our country. Its one of the biggest ways that unite us. Humility and being Gentleman on the field is taught to us from Young. But when we are in the Game thats where we show our strength. Most importantly we wont be bullied. Proud of our sportsmen and Dricus is making us proud..

Strickland learned an important lesson - don't air your demons to the world unless you have already dealt with those demons. People can and will use it against you and DDP is 100% right about the importance of mental toughness vs physical prowess. Big ups to Strickland for talking about it but he should seriously deal with the skeletons before airing out his closet for the world to see.

On point. I like Sean, but he’s being a hypocrite here. In the press conference, he said he can joke about other people’s family because they made it public and they joke about it. But he did all those same things with his past and he’s made more ruthless jokes to others about the same topic. It’s clearly a sensitive topic and traumatic to him. I understand and id be respectful. But he doesn’t follow any of his own rules and he dishes it out harshly to others and says others can’t do it to him.
