- A ONE-OFF £750m windfall from the sale of Scotland’s offshore wind potential has been spent “to support the budget”, the finance secretary admitted today.
This means the SNP has broken their pledge to set aside and reinvest in the energy sector the proceeds from the sale of Scotland’s offshore wind potential to private energy firms.
But despite millions of ScotWind cash being spent on other parts of the budget such as health and welfare spending, Shona Robison desperately tried to claim the cash also supported £4.7billion of climate funding.
Nats ministers were accused earlier this month of blowing the cash in an echo of how they accused the UK Government of wasting North Sea oil cash.

Scotwind was a fund raised for future developments and investment in green energy. The SNP is in a total financial mess, and moving money around and cutting budgets is not going to fill that big black hole Robison has.

So the Minister thinks Scotland should have a sovereign wealth fund whilst also spending all of the current money because of tough times. How does that work?
Complains that Westminster pizzed the oil money up a wall, then proceed to do the same themselves.
Even Norway, with its massive wealth, does'nt give its teenagers free bus transport (£160m), does'nt offer its citizens free prescriptions (£1.4bn), and although Norwegian further ed is free, it still comes at a massive cost to taxpayers.
Not to mention, only 50% of Scots pay tax, and half of those again take out more in services, than they contribute.

£4.7 billion to meet climate change goals for 24/25 what a waste of money when there are so many much more important issues in Scotland, especially considering what difference if any it will actually make to the climate. Look after the people first and spend the money where it will improve peoples lives.
When you give out jobs on gender/race instead of experience or qualifications this is what you get, utter contempt for the taxpayers of Scotland and abuse of power giving away millions to Muslim " causes " and taking ring fenced money from farmers to prop up failed projects, it is about time the real government stepped in.
