    You guys are working when most would be staying home. Freezing temps, snow, wind- pretty amazing you all are. Pretty neat you build it in 8' wall modules, no dropped material to go missing in the night. Enjoy your vids. Keep up the great work.

    This is my first time seeing this project. Love the location. At the 12:00 mark you have a great shot of the whole slab, no forms, bare concrete ready for wall sections. This looks just the way I used to do my sites. Whenever we would finish a stage I would stop the job and tell the guys to pick up trash, organize tools, get your air lines ready, ladders in place, etc., etc., etc. You take 10 minutes doing this a couple times a day and you avoid slips, trips and falls. You avoid the eventual "hand me that tool I left over there" or the always aggravating "where is my extra nails, screws, etc.?". Eventually, my guys got used to it and eventually saw the benefit and did it all day long as we went along. It made the job so much better....Happy New Year sir....John in Texas.

    • @secretsquirrel6308

      Owners and the neighbors sure appreciate that. So much so that the 10 minutes can decide if a contractor is well perceived or put onto the Do Not Hire list.

    • @secretsquirrel6308
      @secretsquirrel6308 Před rokem +1

      People do keep such lists. At their work places, there often are lists composed of two parts; Hire, or Do Not.
      Every contractor knows, or should know, that how they are perceived makes or breaks their reputation. Often it is the 'little' things like keeping worksite clean. Word of mouth is best, or worst, form of advertisement.

  • @lightspeedguru
    @lightspeedguru Před rokem +5

    I love that they included a 'mud room'! Otherwise known as an 'Arctic Entry' or 'vestibule', with a door on the inside to separate it from the rest of the house. So many miss this critical element as it provides environmental isolation in a cold climate. The metal roofing was also a smart choice. Love the arial drone footage!

    Love it, in 72 needed a house, shop teacher looked for me, all bad, said I could build for what these cost, laughed, you can't build a house, but if one did, use t-1-11. I did it, have done others, But I now use LP smart which is OSB stamped as T-1-11, as the plwood stuff just didn't hold paint. As it's both sheathing and siding T-1-11saves both time and money. Three years ago saw a little place in Island Park Idaho, got up close, it was OSB, would love to know what the coating was as No lifting or delamination didn't realize til got up close
